Sonically Sealed, Waterproof Trailer Light

The waterproof construction of this light makes it ideal for use on trailers that may be submerged, like a boat trailer. The housing and lens are sonically sealed together to create a single unit, which means that water will not get into the light and damage the diodes or circuit board.

Surface-Mount Light

Surface Mount Trailer Light Installation Diagram

Surface-mount trailer lights install using a flange or bracket with mounting holes. These lights lay flat against the trailer surface and only require a small, often pre-existing hole, for wiring. Mounting hardware is used to secure the light to the trailer.

  • Installing the 4-Wire Pigtail of the Optrionics Tail Light # STL68RB to 5 Wires from Vehicle
You may want to double check your 5 way from your vehicle, because normally the stop and turn signal functions are combined on a single wire and are separate wires based on left side and right side for turn signal. So, you'd have ground, left turn and stop, right turn and stop, running lights, and reverse as your 5 wire functions. I recommend using a circuit tester like # PTW2993 to test each pole function on your vehicle. The LED Trailer Tail Light - Stop, Tail, Turn, Backup - Submersible...

  • Recommended Surface Mount Submersible Back Up Light For 3" Crossmember on Boat Trailer
There are no 2 wire taillights that are going to have a backup feature. You'll want to pick up the # STL68RB which is surface mount submersible and has the reverse light feature, but has 4 wires. You'll be able to mount these to a 3" crossmember as the bolt holes are 2-5/8" apart, though you'll have to drill a hole into it for the wires to pass through.

  • Does DG52720PB Come in Chrome
Hey Sam! Great questions! The fastest one to tackle would be your question about if part # DG52720PB comes in chrome, it does not. I looked at lights that were similar in size but came out empty handed on the chrome option. Now on to the part about looking for a light that is 10" x 4". I don't have anything that is exactly that but I have some that are close to it. Part # STL68RP5B is 10-1/8" x 3-1/16" - You can use stainless steel trim ring part # A68SSB Part # STL68RB is 10-1/8"...

  • Comparing Fusion LED Trailer Tail Light STL68RP5B and STL68RB
I would be happy to help! The Fusion LED Trailer Tail Light - Stop, Tail, Turn, Backup - Submersible - Oval - Red/Clear Lens # STL68RP5B you were looking at is sold in a quantity of one, so if you are needing two tail lights you will need to order a quantity of two. The difference between the # STL68RP5B with 5 wires and the # STL68RB with four wires is that the 5 wire version has separate turn signal and brake lights, where the 4 wire version has these combined like a standard trailer...

  • Is Additional Part Necessary to Prevent Breakaway Battery From Draining?
If you have tapped into the red wire from the 12V battery lead as in the attached diagram, the power is coming from your truck's battery and not the breakaway battery and you'd be just fine. If you are tapped into the wiring in any other manner you will want to change it to the 12V battery lead. As for back-up LED lights I recommend the Transit LED Backup Light # BUL90CB which is a 7" clear light that is surface mounted, waterproof and corrosion-resistant. • Are There LED Lights With Built In Resistors Available
I have a solution for you, but none of the LED lights we carry come with built in resistors; in some cases adding a resistor to a trailer with existing LED lights isn't going to be necessary. In situations where hyper-flashing occurs they'd just need to add one into the wiring with the Load Resistor Kit # DI34ZR. These could just be wired in behind an LED light like the Fusion LED Trailer Tail Light - Stop, Tail, Turn, Backup - Submersible - Oval - Red/Clear Lens # STL68RB and allow them...

  • Are All Replacement Oval Trailer Tail Lights the Same Size
Since trailers come in different sizes and lights are used for different things, not all oval trailer lights are the same size. For example, the Optronics Trailer Tail Light # STL68RB is 10" Long x 3" Wide whereas the Optronics Trailer Tail Light # STL211RB is 6-1/2" Long x 2-1/2" Wide. I have linked our selection of oval trailer lights for you to filter through. You can choose different options to filter through like size, color, and whether it is LED or incandescent. • LED Taillight Recommendation for 2004 Chevy Silverado Flat Bed Conversion
I have a solution for you, but since you're switching from incandescent to LED lights and taking into consideration the size of light you're going to need, I won't be able to recommend a 4 function light that covers all of those criteria; we also don't carry actual vehicle specific replacement lights, only the bulbs. When all is said and done, because of the issues that can occur when switching from incandescent to LED lights, you're likely going to require some wiring work. With that...

  • Taillight Recommendation for a Flatbed Truck Built on a Chevy Silverado
I think the part # STL68RB would be perfect for your flatbed truck (looks good by the way). The dimensions of the this oval light are 10 inches long and 3 inches tall. They do stop/turn/tail/reverse light functions as well so you would be totally set. I attached a review video for this light for you to check out as well. You might also be interested in the stainless steel trim piece part # A68SSB.

The LED Trailer Tail Light - Stop, Tail, Turn, Backup - Submersible - 14 Diodes - Oval - Pigtail # STL68RB will help give you backup lights, with 4 bright white LED's. Since you stated that your main goal is to gain backup lights, the Sealed 6-1/2" Oval LED Trailer Utility Light, Flange Mount, 10 Super Diode - Clear # BUL78CB has 10 bright LED lights that will give you a much better light for backing up, so I recommend leaving your current lights and adding these brighter lights. • Will Adding Tail Lights With Backup Light Require Rewiring on 2018 Keystone Cougar
In order to determine if you will be able to use a light with a backup light like the Fusion LED Trailer Tail Light # STL68RB you will have to check out your current wiring. This light has a 4-wire pigtail with the white being ground, brown for backup, red for brake and turn, and black for tail. • Fusion LED Trailer Tail Light Is Only Illuminating With Brake And Turn Signals
Good news Les, I don't think your diodes are dying in the light. It sounds like there is a wiring issue with the lights because they work with the brake and turn signals like you mention. It sounds like either there is a bad connection with the ground at the trailer connector or the light itself. I recommend to check the ground for the trailer connector first to make sure it is grounded to a clean bare metal surface. Then check the grounds for the lights. I also recommend to take a look...

  • Does the LED Trailer Tail Light # STL68RB Have Reflectors Built-In
The 10-1/8" x 3-1/16" LED Trailer Tail Light # STL68RB that you referenced is not reflective so you will need additional reflectors like part # RE11RB or part # RE18T. We do offer some light options that have reflectors built-in but nothing in this size. The Stainless Steel Trim Ring # A68SSB is purely for looks. If you don't want to install it then there is no need to as you can see from the attached installation video on an enclosed trailer.

  • How to Connect Backup Lights When Trailer Isn't Wired For Backup
In order to use the backup lights on the # STL68RB you will need to run additional wire on your trailer. Depending on your trailer connector you may also need to swap out the connection. Starting off lets knock out the trim ring since you mentioned it, which is the # A68SSB. Moving on to the wiring, if you already have a 7-way you can run the yellow # DW02412-1 from the connector on your 7-way back to the lights. Yellow is a common reverse color and this will connect to the brown wire...

  • How to Upgrade 4-Pole Wiring to Allow Use of Trailer Reverse Lights
If the reverse light you are adding to your boat trailer is a single-function light like # BUL002CB (not a combination tail and reverse light like # STL68RB) and it has two wires, red and black, it should not matter which one you connect to ground. This is easy enough to check just by briefly connecting the light wires to your vehicle's battery; try it both ways (red to battery positive and red to battery negative) and see if it functions the same way with both wiring options. If it is...

  • How Are Trailer Tail Lights Wired
It sounds like you are trying to install trailer lights on your 2000 Ford F-150? This is not something I recommend doing and you should stick with automotive lights, but if you do decide to do it, trailer lights will need to splice into wires on your truck so you need to find the wires in your Ford that accompany each function by using a circuit tester such as # PTW2979. You will then need to connect those wires to the wires on the trailer light. For example, the Fusion LED Trailer Tail...

  • Troubleshooting Optronics Trailer Light part # STL68RB Reverse Light Circuit Doesnt Come On
The problem has to be in the wiring you are using, unless the light itself is defective which is most likely not the case. I would recommend you take the light out and test each of the functions with a known working car battery. You can do this under the hood of your vehicle pretty easily. Ground the white wire to the negative terminal and then touch each of the remaining wires to the positive post of the battery. All of the light functions should work individually.
