When your 12V source keeps dropping a 24V device offline, this DC to DC converter steps input up to a 24.2V nominal output. Its isolated design keeps power cleaner, so sensitive electronics stay on instead of resetting or cutting out.
Running 24V electronics from a fluctuating 12V source often leads to voltage drop, resets, or inconsistent performance. This unit converts 12V input to a nominal 24.2V output while accepting input from 8V to 17V, keeping voltage stable for connected devices. Equipment runs consistently instead of cutting out under load changes.
Using a charger to power electronics introduces the wrong voltage behavior and can create system issues. This unit is built for regulated DC loads and is not intended for battery charging. You get controlled, predictable power for equipment instead of improper charging behavior.
Mixed electrical systems often introduce noise or ground loop issues that affect sensitive electronics. The isolated design separates input and output grounds so each side operates independently. Power stays cleaner where non-isolated systems can cause erratic behavior or interference.
Oversized converters can add unnecessary complexity when powering small devices or control circuits. This unit provides 5 amps of continuous output at nominal voltage, keeping power matched to lighter loads. You can run electronics and control modules without oversizing the system.
Small systems can grow as more devices are added over time. This unit supports parallel operation with short circuit protection, allowing multiple units to increase total output current. You can scale capacity without replacing the original converter.

Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a quick look at this Victron Orion Tr DC to DC isolated RV converter. Now, this converter's job is to take power from a 12 volt system like a vehicle or boat battery and safely convert it into 24 volt power for equipment that needs higher voltage. So one of the big advantages of this particular model is that it's isolated. That's what the Tr means here in the name. And that isolation means that the input side and output side are electrically separated.
That's gonna help protect sensitive electronics, reduce electrical noise, and prevent grounding issues. This is especially useful in marine, RV, and off-grid setups where reliability really matters. In terms of output, this can supply up to five amps at 24 volts, which works out to about 120 watts of continuous power. So that's gonna be plenty for things like 24 volt electronics, controls, or auxiliary systems. The output is regulated so your equipment gets steady clean power, even if the input voltage fluctuates.
And this also has some nice practical features. A remote on off connection is included, so this can be controlled by a switch or ignition signal. Short circuit protection, so it protects itself and your system. It has the ability to run multiple units in parallel if you need more power later. And you have, as you saw here, simple screw terminals for solid, straightforward wiring.
Let me find my ruler here and give you some overall measurements just so you have a good idea of the size. So the overall width, we're at four and a half inches. Height right at four inches, and the depth or thickness, one in seven eighth inches. So overall, this is a high quality, reliable solution if you need to run 24 volt equipment from a 12 volt battery system, especially again in automotive, marine, or off-grid applications where electrical isolation and durability are going to be important to you and your setup. If you happen to have any other questions, whether it's about this or anything else that we have here at etrailer, don't hesitate to reach out.
We wanna make sure that you're getting exactly what you need. Well, again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.
I bought this to boost charge current to my RV trailer battery. Works as expected. At low charge state it delivers 9.5 Amps. The only criticism I have is that the voltage out adjustment is very sensitive. Otherwise, it performs as advertised.
