This Peterson combination trailer tail light keeps things simple with a single square housing that handles six key functions—stop, turn, tail, rear reflex, side reflex, and side marker. Measuring 4-3/4" tall x 4-1/2" wide x 2-13/16" thick, it’s designed for trailers under 80" wide. Built-in rear and side reflex reflectors mean you don’t need separate reflector pieces, and its red lens over the incandescent bulbs delivers clear, visible signals that meet DOT standards.
Mounting this light doesn’t require complicated wiring or extra brackets. It installs using the included 1/4" studs spaced 2" apart (center on center) and grounds through its mounting hardware—no extra ground wire needed. Quick-connect wire inserts make push-in connections straightforward, helping you get a strong signal to every function without fussing over loose terminals or corroded contacts.
The molded housing and screw-on red lens are made to handle vibration and road wear without cracking or losing their seal. Inside are two easy-to-replace incandescent bulbs—an 1157 for the stop/tail circuit and an 1156 for the turn signal. If a bulb ever burns out, just remove the screws, swap in a new one, and you’re back on the road with full brightness.
Designed for standard 12V DC systems, this light draws 2.2 amps at 12.8V to keep signals bright without overloading your wiring. Everything about it is built for reliable performance across your brake, turn, and running light circuits so other drivers can see exactly what you’re doing day or night.
If you’re replacing an older trailer light, this unit lines up perfectly with common models—it’s a direct replacement for Grote #50542, Truck Lite #535D and #80322R, and Optronics #ST8RB. Just what I ordered, on time, well packaged and great tracking
I ordered these as part of a project to restore a small landscape trailer. Installed easy but, passenger light would not work. Vibration from the road would cause the bald to come loose and fall out inside the cover. Tried to get them returned under warranty but, so no purpose in paying for the return shipment. I found LED lights on (online store) installed in 20 minutes and they work perfectly. Much better solution.

Quality is above average. Installation was easy. Old school incandescent bulbs. A simple diagram with how long the wires need to be stripped to stay in the holders would be nice. Somethings are not worth watching a video. Maybe the country of manufacturer doesn't provide instructions, hence the videos.

The wiring harness is sold separately. If your trailer is 25 feet long or shorter, the # A25W42B would be ideal!
Peterson makes great products and has for many years. I bought this to match the other tail light on my trailer. It is a perfect match and easy to install. I was happy to find an online source for this product as all of the bigbox stores seem to have gone to generic brands. Thank you etrailer for a fair priced alternative.

A year later and still performs like new

You probably don’t remember, but you ask me to do a review and send a photo of my trailer light purchase on your invoice #108377365 Of 9/4/019.
Find a photo attached. This is a ‘Rat Rod’ pickup and not quite done, but I finally did get the lights mounted and wired. They worked perfectly, and I am very satisfied.
I will send you another (and a much better) photo when a get the bed for the Rat Rod built.
As always, I very satisfied with my purchase from, etrailer. I have bought from them before and always get great service and products. Of course Ole George, keeps me up to date on my items and information about shipping, and even lets me know when it is delivered. I think he has a spy cam somewhere so he can watch over the items. Not sure how he does it. etrailer has to be a family owned business, as they care for the customer like family. Many thanks to all the etrailer employees for making my purchases a great experience! The light is just what I needed. What would help[ is if there were wires incuded, as I had to supply my own.

This was an exact replacement for my 30 year old boat trailer light. So easy! Stripped the wires, plugged them in, works perfectly!
The item arrive on time but without any diagram or instructions. I installed the wires according to designation on plastic cover. However when I went to mount item on bracket the wires came out. I took the lens off hoping I could secure wire on on inside. No dice. I recut wires and tried again. Success. I replaced lens screws with stainless ones. Mounted item to bracket and secured wires to housing with electrical tape! Hope works. Think there should be a method to take strain off wires so they don’t pull out.

Work fine- best configuration is to put lights on the boats trailer guide posts- keep the out of water. I store them inside when boat is not used!

Peterson has always made good lights. I like the push-in for the wires. Over the last dozen years I have replaced my lights 3 times and always use Peterson. etrailer is quick and efficient with getting your order out. I've also added guards to my lights to see if they can keep from being damaged.
It is what I needed.
So some times, I’m not so good at backing up but this one I hit with the snow blower.
I like this unit because the wires just plug in the back and I’m good to go. I recommend this light.
This one use for the “passenger” side (with out license plate.

Just rewired a cargo trailer I bought that the lights were always going out. Found 20 butt connectors the guy used no wonder they worked off & on. Now with two new tail lights & new wiring with a straight connection everything works like it should. Everything I have bought from etrailer has been good quality & fast shipping.

Still working with no problems. This trailer gets plenty of use besides going to the county dump, hauling landscaping material & lumber.
Both lights, driver and passenger side, along with cabling were easily installed. Perfect solution for my utility trailer. Thank you.
