2024 Ford Escape Plug In Hybride. Recommend Base Plate and rear hitch to pull 1500 lbs.

Hi Bob!

We have you covered for both. For the base plate, I recommend the Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms # RM77GR. They make the best base plate in the industry and are the ones to get. That said, do you already have tow bars? If they aren't Roadmaster, let me know what they are and I can see if we have something to match it. If you do not have a tow bar yet, I have the one I recommend below as well as the needed wiring:

If you don't have a braking system already, let me know if your RV has air or hydraulic brake and if you prefer a permanent set up or a portable one. We have great options for you.

As to the hitch for towing, I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # C67MJ. It's American made and has plenty of capacity (2,000 pounds towing and 200 pounds of tongue weight). Since you mentioned pulling 1,500 pounds with the hitch, you will also want the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C55VV. This will get the lights on your trailer working.

On that note, were you going to be towing a trailer behind the Escape while it is being flat towed?

Thanks Lazer, I went with everything you suggested except the base plate whereby I went with the Demco Tabless Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms. I just thought that is was easier to install and although it does not look as strong as the Roadmaster, the car is so light I don't believe that will matter. Thanks for your help.

@BobL Nice! Demco makes very good products as well, so no worries with that. One question though, do you already have tow bars? You may need an adapter depending on what you have.

@LazerS Thanks and yes. I am going from a 2018 jeep wrangler with a custom bumper connection to the escape. I have a roadmaster falcon 2 and it looked like DM9523036 was referenced.
