Hey Stirling,

We have a couple options for a 5th wheel/gooseneck tailgate for your 2012 Chevy Silverado 3500 (so long as it does not have the factory tailgate assist for making lowering the tailgate easier), which I'll list for you:

- Stromberg Carlson 4000 Series 5th Wheel Louvered Tailgate with Lock # VGM-07-4000

- Stromberg Carlson 100 Series 5th Wheel Tailgate with Open Design # VGM-07-100

The difference is the look (see photos), and the # VGM-07-4000 includes a lock, which the other option does not. While neither is able to accommodate a tailgate camera, we do have license plate cameras for you, and again there are a couple options:

- Hopkins Smart Hitch Backup Camera and Hitch Aligner System # HM50002

- Rear View Safety Backup Camera System # RVS-778718N

The difference with these is the Hopkins comes with a monitor while the Rear View Safety will have you replace your mirror, and the monitor is actually inside the mirror. The Hopkins is a much easier install due to this, as it just plugs into your factory tow package wiring, but I wanted to give you the option in case you didn't want to have a monitor in your truck.

Hey Stirling, how did things go with the Stromberg Carlson tailgate on your Chevy 3500? Did you end up pairing it with the Hopkins or the Rear View Safety camera system? Your update could make it easier for others choosing a similar setup.
