Can Brophy D-Ring Tie Down Anchor Be Mounted to Trailer Frame

Question:
I see some youtube videos that recommended drilling into the metal frame on the periphery that also holds the 2x6” flooring in. Mainly to prevent the ring bracket from pulling out of compromised wood. Is this correct and does this affect the integrity of the trailer frame?

You can drill into the frame to mount the Brophy D-Ring Tie Down Anchor # LRB1 to the floor of your trailer. If it is a steel frame I wouldn't worry about it, if it is an aluminum frame I would try to avoid it. However, I recommend using a steel backing plate to avoid drilling into the frame entirely. This will be more than enough to keep the tie down secure.
