In order to mount the Brophy Recessed Trailer Tie-Down D-Ring # RR05, you will need a hole that is 3-3/8 inches in diameter. We recommend you use the backing plate system if you are not attaching this to either a trailer framer or trailer with a steel bed.The Brophy # RR5K includes the backing plate and all necessary hardware.
I have attached a short video showing an installation of the tie-down kit.
