The Blue Ox Heavy-Duty Universal Bolt-On Adapter Tabs # BX88266 can be bolted on to a metal bumper by drilling holes and using the hardware provided. However, these are typically used as a last-resort solution in the case that there isn't a standard base plate available for your vehicle. Instead, I recommend using the Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit # 277-3A for baseplates on your 2005 Ram 2500. These have an easy, bolt-on installation and will be compatible with all Roadmaster tow bars that slide into trailer hitch receivers.

If you're flat towing, you will also need a tow bar, safety cables, a braking system, and a tow bar wiring kit. If you need any of these items, here are my quick recommendations for each:
