Best 2017 Ram 4500 Gooseneck Hitches

Not a bad install at all. Pretty straight forward.

This was my first order I placed with et etrailer. If one work could say it I guess it would perfect! I ordered on a Tuesday arrived on Thursday. I Placed the order got conformation and a name and contact to call if I had any issues, once it arrived I got another email letting me know if had been delivered. The installation video was perfect made it’s easy to install just followed the steps. When I need any trailer related items I will use them. As far as the B&W hitch i put it in a 2017 Ram 2500 with Ram boxes. The fit and quality of the hitch and design is what I have come to expect from B&W. I got this hitch to pull a gooseneck horse trailer. If your wondering if it will work with Ram Boxes it will.

I recently purchased a 2016 Ram 3500 with 5th wheel tow package already present on truck. I wanted an additional goose neck product and looked at various suppliers online and found etrailer products offered for sale. After to speaking with Heather who answered all my questions as well as reviewed feedback from customers I chose to go with the Reese gooseneck kit. I received the product within the shipping date provided to me and I went out to install it. It took me all of 3 mins to install with no issues. I did my best to remove, shake and couldn't get them to budge. It took me a total of 5 mins to remove the parts and storing them back under the rear seat. The parts fit perfect, look great as well as we're the cheapest price I could find. Their online video is all the install instructions you need! I will definitely use etrailer in the future. Product took less than a minute to install on my 2015 Ram 3500. Would highly recommend this product for those who have the factory 5th wheel and gooseneck prep package from Ram in their truck.

I was converting a fixed/welded gooseneck ball on a CM flatbed to a removable one so I could also use a B&W Companion Flatbed Gooseneck to 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch adapter. Although it wasn’t easy to find someone to cutout the old ball and install the new turnover ball, it was done expertly and the hitch works perfectly! Very easy to operate from the wheel well and turn over for a flat area for cargo. Always had a turnover ball in the past and highly recommend this one for a conversion.

This unit was very handy to be able to purchase and install on my Bradford Built flatbed so that I could install my B&W companion hitch with flatbed base on the truck. The welding was all fairly straight forward and didn't require much except for a few washers and a piece of flat steel for a spacer. The one down side is that the hitch pin/handle does not have any built in twist-n-lock method to lock it so the pin remains disengaged for the ball or companion assembly install like on the common B&W under truck bed assemblies I've had on several trucks. We ended up installing the pin slightly out of line so that the tip of the pin would catch on the exterior of the receiver when pulled out and then when I wanted to engage the pin just push up on the handle and press the pin back in. I do like that I can still cover the hitch hole with the cover plate as seen in the picture.

I purchased this to pull a 25Ton GN trailer with heavy equipment and so far it works great! Good price point and reliable product. I would highly recommend this product and trailer. Thank you!

Overall good product. I added 2 pieces of 2x2 (¼" thick) angle iron to the back of the base plate to stiffen up the plate more. I've used it on a 3500 dually pulling fully loaded dumpster trailers with no issues at all.

I’ve had this for over a year now installed on my custom fabricated welding bed and it has been perfect. Put together well and definitely worked perfect for what i needed it for. I use it to haul my 43’ 5th wheel camper and haven’t had a single issue. Would definitely recommend and use this kit again.

Ordered this after deciding to go with it over a B&W kit due to me not using it a whole lot and the price difference. When I received the package 1/2 the hardware was missing because the inner box it was in was all broke apart and the outer box was not sealed up. So I would have to give the packaging and shipping one star because I had to go spend an extra $75 on grade 8 hardware. The paper directions were not totally clear on several thing so we resorted to the video which helped a lot. The two large carriage bolts that go in the rear cross member are a little deceiving because the video makes it seem like they slip right in. However, the heads were larger than the pass through in the frame rails so it took quite a bit of extra time and ingenuity to get those fished through there with the plates.(The carriage bolts survived shipping so they were what came with the kit). In the video it showed where he cut a large u out of the inner fender to clear the pull handle and notched the bed that looked kind of sloppy. With a few extra measurements you can just cut a hole in both for handle to slide through and give it a much cleaner look. Definitely recommend putting a bolt through receiver holes and using a strap to hold up center plate through hole in bed after you get it into place. Makes life a lot easier until you get the bolt ls in. Overall this hitch works and functions great. Install went pretty smooth with two people and I would recommend it to anyone needing a hitch.

Great product w great instructions. It was an affordable package that installed decently. We have used the hitch for a year now and have had zero issues w it. The only reason for not giving it 5 stars was because the cross bars that go between the frame rails needed to have the threaded holes chased w a tap to remove the powder coating prior to installation. I initially tried installing it without chasing the threads and the bolts started to get very tight before the parts even pulled together. Once the threads were clean, everything assembled very well. The hitch takes time to install, at least if you want it to look good and be correct. On a 1500 ram, you will probably need to install some form of helper spring or air bags to prevent the rear from squatting from the weight of the gooseneck trailer…the factory 1500 coil springs are not firm enough on their own.

Have been driving cross country since purchase. I'm am also using the companion 5th wheel slide with my application. With numerous slides and coupling and uncoupling. Both have performed flaulusly. Cudos to BW.

I love my hitch . I love how I can turn it over and I can still have use of the full truck bed. I could of bought a cheaper hitch but the quality is by far better than other hitches I have owned in the past. Customer service was great after they helped me fix my ordering mistake. etrailer did great with the shipping, and the quality of fabrication of the hitch is great, however the coating is no good. B&W should start having their parts galvanized. Powder coating does not hold up to this application. Especially when you coat smooth bare steel surfaces. I installed my last B&W hitch and same situation good fabrication poor coating. 10 years later it is the only rusty part of my frame. Other than that great product.

Did the install myself following your video. The turn over ball works great and easy to flip even in frigid temps after being exposed to elements.

The hitch is beefy and seem to be very strong. My guess is the truck frame will give before the hitch. Great quality. I very happy! I'm an above average backyard mechanic and found the installation doable, but a little of a challenge. Differently need a help. My wife was a big help. I use a 2X4 across my bed and a ratchet strap to lift and hold the center section in to position. I also had to reposition my exhaust pipe where it goes over the differential to get some clearance. Also, I had to drill out one of the square holes in the tailpipe L bracket to receive the factory bolt.

Seems to be as described. I haven’t yet used it to tow anything, but the instructions were accurate. Installed on my 2003 f-350. It did take quite a bit longer than I thought. Started around 1pm and got wrapped up around 6. At first it didn’t look like things were lining up right, but everything moved into place as I snugged bolts down and torqued as the sequence in the instructions say. I love how it sits flush and is so user friendly once installed. I have used the same type of hitch on a truck at the fire station, so I’m familiar with how they work and they have always been great for me and others. I just dropped a star for how long the install took compared to their estimate. I’m not new to turning wrenches either, but it didn’t look like things were lining up at first.

I just installed the Spyder Gooseneck Hitch. First the Hitch weights 77 lbs. The Hitch fit in very tight. The Curt Spyder Gooseneck showed up ony a couple days....I am very pleased with the Spyder. I haven't been able to tow with it yet but I believe it will do great!

This was a new installation for my 2023 Ram 2500. The fit was perfect. The install instructions were easy to follow and accurate. I did the job myself with the help of my son, without a hoist. You do need mussel.

The chain hook U bolt hits the exhaust so it rattles. The U bolts also stick up too much in the bed. They should be moved in between the humps in the bed and not on top of the humps.

The Hitch came faster than expected It took about 2 hours to install thanks to etrailer's [on-line video]instructions very happy

Install went well. Was shipped the wrong plates with the nuts in them but customer service reacted quickly and got me what the ones I needed.

Great hitch. Used it several times to haul my cattle trailer no issues. Very easy to install with minimal tools. Everything fit well. I have a rubber bed mat and the rubber hitch cover is almost the exact same thickness making the bed %100 usable when the hitch is in storage. It also does a great job of keeping dirt out of the hitch.

Unit installed and pulled my fifth wheel to provincetowne Mass. Unhooked and pulled the ball out and picked up some firewood. Nice flat surface. Love it. Only way to go.

Easy enough to install. Directions are clear and the video online helped a lot. The little ring on top I made to give it a more finished look around the cutout. It would be nice if B & W included a piece like this with the kit, even if made of plastic. But, very happy with it.

We use a lot with a dump trailer and a horse trailer. No issues, smooth!

I really like the hitch as it was easy to install and being a turnover ball it leaves my bed free when I need to haul something. Very sturdy product and I would recommend it to anyone looking for this style of gooseneck hitch.
