Upgrading from drum brakes? This DeeMaxx tandem-axle kit gives you hydraulic disc stopping power with Maxx-coated 13" hub/rotors, a 1,600 psi electric-over-hydraulic actuator, and flexible brake lines designed to work together.
This version of the kit is built around 7,000 lb axles with larger 13-1/8" integral hub-and-rotor assemblies. The vented rotor design and built-in drainage help manage heat and shed moisture, while ceramic pads and a stainless steel piston provide smooth, consistent braking. If you are towing heavier equipment or larger trailers, the added rotor mass and axle rating give you more braking confidence.
The Maxx coating on the hub-rotor, caliper, and bracket is rated for over 1,000 hours in salt spray testing. Combined with rotor drainage holes and a 1-piece hub-and-rotor design, this helps reduce rust, contamination, and uneven wear, especially for boat trailers or winter towing.
The DeeMaxx Alpha G1600 actuator converts your in-cab brake controller signal into hydraulic pressure up to 1,600 psi. It reaches 1,000 psi in just 3/16 of a second for quick response. The extruded aluminum housing helps manage heat, and the sealed reservoir reduces contamination risk. A 360-degree brake line fitting allows flexible mounting.
The included tandem-axle hydraulic brake line kit features DOT- and SAE-compliant rubber hoses that are easier to route than rigid steel lines. Brass tee and cross fittings, clamps, and mounting hardware are included to secure the system cleanly to your trailer frame.
Disc brakes eliminate many of the springs and internal parts found in drum systems. The 1-piece hub-and-rotor design reduces the risk of trapped moisture causing uneven wear, and laser-etched bleeding instructions on the caliper make future service more straightforward.

Hi, everyone. Steve here with etrailer. Today we're taking a look at the DMAX Disc Display Kit with the Actuator for Tandem Axle Trailers. This is gonna feature a 13 inch hub and rotor assembly with an eight on six and a half inch lug pattern. And these are gonna be rated or 7,000 pound capacity axle. Folks, you're obviously gonna get a lot more what you see here on the table.
You're gonna get the four hub rotor assemblies with all the brackets that you need, brake line hoses, the actuator, all the inter races, outer races, bearings, et cetera, grease caps. Everything you need is gonna come in the kit. So looking at the rotor hub assembly together, it's gonna be great for water and winter towing. You've got slots all the way around here to help water drain. And also more importantly, to help it cool down as it's getting hot, you know, as it's breaking and whatnot, doing its job.
And of course you get the calipers with the brake pads and then that bracket here for the caliper, along with your bearings in and outer and grease seal, and of course the all important dust cap. We do include the rubber plug here. You can pop out way. If you have easily loop spindles, you can reach them easily with the grease zirk to do the maintenance. And of course, you're gonna get the powerful electrical over hydraulic actuator.
This is gonna give you fast response, giving you confident braking. And all the brake lines here are flexible. They are DOT rated and approved, making that installation a lot easier, smoother, and again, that flexible hose gives you an easier flexible time as far as the install. Now that being said, you don't wanna tackle the install yourself, no problem. We're affiliated with lots of different dealers and installers across the country.
You can reach out to us or use our dealer locator tool at etrailer.com by simply entering your zip code, and we can help find someone local to you to do that install as well. Again, an eight on six and a half inch bolt pattern. Again, common 7,000 pound axle setups is what that's rated for. Rotors again, 13 and technically 13 and one eighth inch wide. That's our quick look together at this DMAX Disc Brake Kit with Actuator for Tandem Axle Trailers. I'm Steven, thanks for watching.
Best upgrade to our 5th wheel. I will do this to every trailer I ever own. The install was straight forward if you have some mechanical knowledge and experience.
Just traveled 800 miles after installing the disc brakes. Stopping distance is half of what it was. So pleased!
We had a rough start getting the right brakes for our Brinkley Z3100. However after ETrailer realized they made an error on the order they were right on top of it, doing everything they could do to make it right. Their people are great, kind, well informed in their products, and communicate very promptly. E Trailer will be my go to supplier for RV, and Trailer needs.
You will not be disapointed with their customer care!
Excellent customer service. All of my questions were answered. All of parts arrived the very next day. Parts appear to be of high quality.
Easy installation, work so much better than stock drums. Some brake pad noise under lite braking.
Really surprised how quickly parts came. One box looked pretty rough, but all parts appear to be there. Will know more after install and put a few miles on the trailer.
One of the kits was missing all 5 mount bolts, had to run to Hardware store to get replacements. Bolt up is simple & strait forward. Packaging needs to be more substantial as the calpers were floating around in the box & had some scuffing damage.. maybe put some composite straps around boxing so they can be easier to Carry?
The first order I made was incorrect due to my mistake, but Amy took care of it had the correct items sent out with the wrong items returned. Everything was very smooth.
This rating is because of the company, DeeMaxx, not the quality of the parts. As far as I can tell the parts seem to be really good quality. This rating is because I feel that DeeMaxx is dishonest and has no honor or integrity. I bought the kit for the 6000lbs axle. There are actually two caliper brackets that fit this kit. There is an open bracket (DBB-6K-MAXX) which is included in the kit, and there is a closed bracket (DBB-6KC-MAXX). The instruction say to install the bracket so that the caliper will be at the 3 or 9 o'clock position and facing the rear of the camper. The problem with the open bracket is it can only be installed in one location, it cannot be rotated for proper alignment and all five mounting bolts line up. That places the caliper at about the 11:30 position which means it is slightly aft on the right side of the camper and slightly forward on the left side. The position of the caliper really isn't a big deal. The problem is that position puts the caliper, and the brake line, right behind the spring stack. If DeeMaxx would have included brakes lines with a 90° end to miss the springs this placement would have worked. But all of the brake lines are straight which makes it almost impossible to get the brake line threaded into the caliper. You have to bend the brake line 90° to get it installed and then it is against the springs and the threads on the u-bolt. I ended up wrapping the lines in fuel lines and zip tying them in place to protect the lines. I did not like how the lines had to be bent and rubbing the springs and thought there had to be a better way so I did an internet search and found out there was actually another bracket by DeeMaxx that solves the problem and allows the calipers to be mounted as per the instructions, at 3 and 9 position, the closed bracket. I called DeeMaxx and left a message about my problems and they never returned my call. I then reached out to etrailer to see if they would contact DeeMaxx, I even sent numerous pictures of the problem with the brake lines hitting the springs. There was no clearance problems with the caliper and the suspension. DeeMaxx got back to etrailer and said from the pictures there was plenty of room for the caliper, failing to address the brake lines, and said they wouldn't provide the other brackets. They recommended I could run it as it was, move my current bracket and turn it to the 3 or 9 position even if it meant I could not use all five mounting bolts, or I could purchase the other brackets at my own expense. Then I realized, DeeMaxx knows the brackets they include in the kit don't match their instructions and this forces the consumer to purchase $200 more of their products in order to fix the issue instead of including the proper brackets in the kit, very dishonest. I paid the extra money for the DeeMaxx kit over the other brands because I don't mind spending more for better quality. What I do mind is a dishonest company that uses tactics like this to get even more money from the consumer. The DeeMaxx kit was already close to $1000 more that the Hydrastar kit, and now I have to pay $200 more to get it installed properly, and I would bet the Hydrastar kit has the proper bracket included. I ended up ordering the closed brackets and now have the brakes installed as per the DeeMaxx instructions. I will never buy anything else from this company or do business with them again. Very dishonest and underhanded tactics to get more money from the consumer.
Not sure if parts are correct. Brake calipers don't mount t at 3 or 9. Called etrailer they were no help. They told me to call the manufacturer.....
Etrailer to the rescue! Extremely high quality direct replacement for DeeMaxx EOH kit DE66AR offered on this site. Our original got damaged after a bearing failure. I actually cary a spare set of bearings which allowed us at a minimum to limp our RV home and avoid an expensive tow. Now I will replace the damaged parts.
I have towed my 16,000lb fifth wheel over 12,000mi since installing the disc brake system. The braking power and control is vastly improved with the disc brakes over the drum brakes. I am certain that I avoided a major accident because of the disc brake system. The kit had everything I needed and the customer service was great.
Have a 2024 Brinkley camper. Barley felt the drum brakes work. Camping in Colorado and the Black Hills was a little stressful with little brake help from the camper. Winter here. I've only took the camper on a test drive (20 miles) with the new disc brakes. They work awesome! All the brake power you need from the camper now.
I ordered the wrong brake kit at first. I needed 9/16" bolts instead of 1/2". Ashley from E-tailer got what I needed coming and gave ups the pickup label right after I called. Thank you Ashley!
As for the brake install. Fairly easy. Not fun, but easy. The hardest part was running and securing the brake lines. And maybe the wiring up the actuator. Instructions were great. Just a little intimidating the first time. Next time will take half the time to do. But I no plains for the next time! Also make sure your brake controller can change to elec. over hdy. Luckily my 2023 F350 did and was easy to change on the screen.
Thank you again Ashley!!
Angie Z was so helpful and a pleasure to work with.
Will definitely use them again.
