Thule Passage 3 Bike Carrier - Trunk Mount
Way too light duty for what is advertised. It seemed to be made out of 1/2 inch electrical conduit. I would never put three bikes on that rack. I only had two bikes on the rack. While on trip through Idaho the wind was so strong that one of the bikes partially blew off the rack. We traveled 1,800 miles and upon arriving home I actually sawed the bike rack up and threw it away so that no one else would use it and cause an accident. I've already found a different brand that is HEAVY DUTY and I will stick with that brand.
This is definitely more of a 2 bike carrier vs 3 bikes. I had to take the front wheels off two bikes to get three bikes on this carrier. Also, it rubbed the paint off on the trunk of my Subaru legacy.

I choose this particular unit because it can handle the weight 2 of bikes (non-e-bikes) and the weight of my e-bike is equivalent to weight of 2 bikes. Note: Must readjust the straps after mounting the bike to the rake.
great! works really well, and a lot easier to attach than I anticipated. We drove with bikes across the country from south west all the way to North east. solid rack!

Swagman XTC4 Bike Rack for 4 Bikes - 2" Hitches - Frame Mount
Rack is very sturdy and heavy duty. Instructions were terrible. Locking hitch pin would not thread correctly and ended up damaging it. Thankfully the threads on rack were fine and I was able to use the non-locking threaded pin. Would like a replacement locking pin ASAP
For the price, it's a good-quality, sturdy bike rack. I have used it about 5-7 times with no issues. I only used it for one adult and two kids' bikes, but I am sure it can handle four bikes as advertised. It's great that the rack folds upwards when it's not required.

Kuat NV 2.0 Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 2" Hitches - Wheel Mount - Gunmetal Gray
Fantastic bike rack. Switch it between a Honda Ridgeline and a Subaru Outback Wilderness and it works perfectly. Accidentally lost the locking pin that secures the rack to the trailer hitch and when I inquired with Kurt about ordering a replacement lock keyed to match the locking cables on the rack and the Kuat rep sent one to me for free. (I removed the rack and left the lock sitting on my car bumper. Later that day I drove off and lost the lock on the highway).
Great bike rack. It is easy to install the hitch on a vehicle and to remove it. The Kuat NV 2.0 provides a smooth, gentle ride for road bikes and mountain bikes. Great purchase. Highly recommend.

Curt Bike Rack for 5 Bikes - 2" Hitches - Tilting
The straps are junk and four of them tore within a week of using them. I also almost lost one bike because of the straps. If I could I would return this unit.
We used this bike rack for at least 2 RV trips. The third trip we took we lost one bike off of the rear most rack. Ended up having to replace this bike rack with one from another store. Would only recommend for local trips only.

Swagman XTC2 Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Frame Mount

Very stable and simple to use bike rack that works great with my road bike AND with my 29" Big Rippers. It makes loading and unloading the bikes a snap and they are safe and secure for traveling once loaded and secured. I have already logged over a thousand miles hauling bicycles with this rack and highly recommend it. I am a big fan of Yakima roof racks but, honestly, wish I would have went with this setup for my bikes from the beginning.

I have a 2017 Acura RDX. I had to be creative for the hooks and straps to work. The lower strap hook is not compatible with my hatch. And I really didn't want to have them hook under my plastic bumper, so I shut the straps in the hatch and hooked them to 2 hooks I have in the trunk. Works perfect. A picture is attached. I have a Cannondale Bad Girl, which is the dumbest bike ever designed ( but that is a different review forum) so I had to be creative getting it mounted like I usually do. Works great. The only reason I gave this a 4 star is because I don't believe the hooks are really compatible with the RDX, unless you have an awesome spouse willing to get shut in the trunk and place the hooks for you while you tighten from the outside. etrailer.com has the best customer service I have dealt with in a while. Fantastic crew!

This rack is great. I've traveled about 2,500 miles with the bike loaded up and it has been rock solid. Well designed. I bring a little folding step ladder with me that I use to load/unload the bike. When I'm not using the rack, it lays down nicely and you never even know it's up there. Highly recommended product.

Yakima HangOut 2 Bike Rack - Trunk Mount - Adjustable Arms
When I started the search for a bike rack, I was so disappointed and upset to hear that I would need to install a hitch and spend even more money to buy another bike rack for my 2016 jeep renegade. I ordered this bike rack with a little hope but got a huge surprise! Not only is it super convenient and easy to install but I can fully use my trunk and not spend a ton of money!
Very nice, works well. The only thing that was an issue was with the "Anchor" part of assembly. The straps it came with were 2-3 ft. too short. So I had to replace/substitute my cargo straps for the Yakima top straps. Other than that, I'm pretty satisfied with this item.

Swagman Trailhead Bike Rack for 4 Bikes - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Tilting
This is a very solid product! I have used it for over a year now and love it! I have had up to 3 bikes on this without a problem and have traveled over 8 hours in the car one way with absolutely no issues. Many other bike racks like this one that I see on other cars look unstable this is not unstable in anyway. I did have to file some of the paint off of the rack to get it to fit in my 1 and 1/4" hitch but once that was done it has been perfect. I also bought the locking hitch bolt which is awesome too.
Well built and good quality. So glad I can haul bikes easier with our Honda Pilot now!
Thule ReVert Bike Rack for 4 Bikes Review - 2023 Volvo XC90 - TH73VA
Hi, everyone, I'm Evangeline right here at Etrailer. Today, we are taking a look at how the Thule ReVert four-bike vertical rack fits on the 2023 Volvo XC90. This is also available as a six-bike rack, which will work the exact same way, has pretty similar capacities, that will just be a bit wider and can definitely carry more bikes. Now, the way the four-bike works with it being vertical is you load your bikes up and onto the rack. I think that's a great fit with the XC90 'cause then rather than going out behind the vehicle, you just go up. Now, to get things ready to load up the bikes, the way this works is you remove the pin on the side, you press this handle, and you bring the rack back.

Now a pullout from the style racks are gonna be a great way of transporting your bikes in a clean and nice looking way, as well as being super effective of not having any kind of movement on the rack as you are getting a lot of securance on there. The Sherpa does an excellent job with that. As you can see, we do have a nice ratcheting arm system on our wheel at the front. That's gonna do a great job making sure we have a nice stable platform here.

However, getting a very nice wheelbase so that we can get some of our bigger, longer bikes up on here, with no problem. And as well as with the 60 pound capacity, we're gonna be pretty hard-pressed to find a bike, we can't get up on here.

Does the Yakima RidgeBack Bike Rack for 4 Bikes Suit Your 2017 Volvo XC90
Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Volvo XC90 we're gonna be test-fitting the Yakima Ridgeback 4-bike rack for 1 1/4" and 2" hitches. Part number YO2458. We have a bike installed on the rack already, and let's go ahead and take a closer look here.Starting with the arms, at the ends we both have the patented Yakima bottle openers, so you can have a nice cold one after a long trail ride. The cradles are gonna be stationary, meaning they can't move back and forth, but they are adequately spaced enough to fit the four bikes with ease.Also has this TPE cushioned padding here, and that's actually gonna help absorb some of the shock from your frame while traveling around and hitting those bumps on the road. It's also padded at the bottoms of our zip strips here, so that's a double protection for the frame of your bike while you travel, to keep any scratches from getting on it from loading it or traveling in general.It will grip your bike by three points. We'll have two zip strips up at the top, as well as one off to the side, and that's gonna serve as an anti-sway cradle to keep the bike from moving too far back and forth and causing bike-to-bike contact.

Adam: What's going on everybody, Adam here with etrailer. Today, we have a Kuat NV 2.0 on our 2016 Volvo XC 90, so let's just go ahead and get started. As you guys can see, we have nice little orange accents. This is the gunmetal gray color version of the two bike rack, but we actually are going to have two different colors. We're going to have matte black and metallic black, as well, so if you're not really a fan of this orange here, we have other options too and if you got more than just two bikes that you want to carry it to and fro we have four bike rack versions available for all three of those colors, so check that out, but let's just go ahead and start with probably one of the more unique features of this bike rack. Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2016 Volvo XC90

Fit Test: Thule Helium Bike Rack for 2 Bikes with 2016 Volvo XC90
Zach: Hey guys, Zach here at etrailer.com and today we're going to be taking a look at the Thule Helium 2 Bike Platform-Style bike rack on our 2016 Volvo XC 90. This is going to be a really nice bike rack. One of my favorite things is the way that it holds the bike on, and that's the double wheel style, instead of a frame out or a single hook. A lot of the times those kind of have a set place on the trays and that's just where your bikes going to go.This style allows you to make some adjustments because a lot of times with platform racks, your handlebars will interfere with that second bike seat. So this allows us to move it back and forth, and as long as we're on that tray, we're good. So that we can move this around a little bit, make it a little bit easier to put that second bike on there without the contact.This one doesn't have the highest weight capacity for some other bike racks that you might be comparing it to.
Kuat NV Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2008 Volvo XC90
Today on our 2008 Volvo XE-90, we'll be doing a test for the Kuat NV Platform Style Tilting 4-bike rack. That's part number N105-107. I've already got it loaded up on our XE-90, just to give you a good idea of what it looks like and how it's secures our bike. It secures our bike in two spots. We have this nice, big wheel-hook going over our front wheel, putting down pressure into the front wheel cradle. Then we have this rear-wheel strap going between our spokes and holding our rear wheel in place. All-in-all, there is no frame contact, so that's one of the really nice features.
Thule Domestique Roof Bike Rack Review - 2007 Volvo XC90
Today, we have 2007 Volvo XC90, and were going to be testing fitting the Thule Domestique Roof Mounted Bike Carrier, part number TH513. We already have our bike carrier assembled and now were ready to fit it at top on top of our vehicle. To mount the carrier to our roof rack, well fit the head of the rack and the clamp around our front load bar. Well use an Allen wrench to tighten down the three bolts. Then, at the rear, well fit our clamp around the rear bar and again use that Allen key to tighten down the bolts on the rear clamp. Then, we can reinstall our skewer.
RockyMounts TieRod Roof Bike Rack Review - 2007 Volvo XC90
Today, on our 2007 Volvo XC90, were going to be test fitting the RockyMounts TieRod Bike Rack, part number RKY1014. To fit the bike rack on our roof rack, well place it up on top of our load bars. Well set the head of the bike rack on top of our front bar and feed the straps around the bar. Well fit the straps back into the head and use an Allen wrench to tighten them up. Once weve done that, we can go ahead and reinstall the cover. At the back of the carrier, well fit the clamp around the rear bar and use the wing nuts to tighten the clamp onto our bolts.
