Best Truck Bug Deflectors

Had this bug deflector for a year now. Very happy with it. Easy to install yourself using existing parts on the stock truck. Better than the adhesive only on other brands. Solid and looks great.

Installing the WeatherTech Bug Shield would have been a whole lot easier if the hold down anchors and screws used with the rubber hood seal were long enough to secure the bracket and seal to the hood. I had to use longer plastic anchors and screws to get the brackets secure. This issue was raised in other reviews, so apparently these reviews are never read by anyone at WeatherTech. Otherwise, a very nice useful product.

Great quality, good fit overall…BUT, once again WeatherTech is “cheaping out” on their fasteners! Those ridiculous plastic push pin type fasteners DO NOT inspire confidence at all…the etrailer installation video acknowledged this. Come on WeatherTech…these things are IMPORTANT!!

easy to install looks great

The bug shield works great - still get a few bugs up high one the windshield but my line of sight is unimpaired. I don't have to stop every couple of hours to clean the windshield. Now if you could only come up with a shield for the 5th wheel.

Looks great, easy to install...however, the fastening clips provided are way too short and wouldn't work on my truck. They couldn't grip once inserted and wouldn't hold the weight of shield when I attempted to insert the screws no matter what I tried to do. I searched my local Napa, a local body shop ,and my mechanic to find a longer clip that would hold, no one had any longer that would fit in the 3/8 inch holes of my hood. Its a brand new truck and I sure as hell wasn't going to try to drill the holes larger. I ended up at a hardware store and bought dry wall hangers that supported 3/4 inch #8 screws that did the job. I know I have a great warranty on this item and it should last as long as I own the truck, but come on Weathertech, let's get some fasteners that work for a Silverado. I know this isn't the first complaint about the crappy fasteners. If they had worked, I would have given it a five star rating.

It's a great bug deflector Only thing was I had to get longer plastic snaps to hold it onto the hood But a year later it's still on and going strong

They went on easily just need to make sure the hood will stay in the open position. Have not had the shield on the road yet.

Parts came in in 3 days time. Box was a little damaged so I had a concern I might have lost some small parts, but all parts appeared to be there. The Big shield took about 30 minutes to install and looks great. The fifth wheel installation kit installed and fit great. Etrailer's technical support is outstanding.

Everything arrived quickly. Installation was easy. Looks great.

I ordered a bug deflector specific for my truck but this one seemed to be a generic for GM trucks. the tabs did not fit properly for the underside of my hood. The double sided tape did not match properly to the underside of the hood and the tape was not sticky enough to adhere to the metal. The outboard retainer clips were not the proper style to clip to my hood and stay in place. Road vibaration causes the clips to disengage each time I drive the vehicle

I had to clean my windshield recently from a few bugs. It was then I noticed that the bug deflector was almost completely covered with insect impacts so I guess it was doing it's job

Product was perfect. Box was in horrible shape when arrived (likely shipping company's fault) but product was still good and fit perfectly.

This bug guard could not have been any easier to put on my GMC 2009 1500. The piece from the factory simply fell off my truck and I need to put something over the holes in the hood. I went to the WeatherTech site and found that I could have purchased for a less then what I paid at etrailer. A lot less, that's my only gripe. Shipping was super and timing was great too. Bill

easy to install, but the ends don't make a true flat connection under the hood on my F150 2010.

Pretty decent item. The installation screws were useless. Not meant for metal.
