Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller - 1 to 4 Axles - Proportional
10/10 does the job very well and was easy to install myself (be careful about airbags). Saved me a large custom job bill. Worth the price and functions perfectly. I purchased with the connecting cord/plug for my vehicle and it was seriously the easiest thing to install. Two plugs ins, screwed into my lower dash and done.
I purchased and installed the P3 controller in a 2018 Toyota Highlander XLE after reading many great reviews about it. Wanted a hard wired controller vs. wireless because a brake controller is too important to run over an unreliable wireless connection. Having an IT background I know how unpredictable wireless connections can be. Installation was fairly easy, the hardest part was running a few wires through the firewall of the vehicle. A few notes, the installation of the actual controller under the steering wheel area was a little difficult because of the design of the mounting bracket. This could be designed better for easier installation. Also, I got a pre-collision warning on my instrument cluster whenever the brake controller was activated. To fix this I had to solder a 1 amp diode on the red cable, which I protected with heat shrink. I reached out to tech support about this error and they were very helpful talking me through a solution. I like the adjustment capabilities of the controller. I have been able to adjust it so the brakes don't grab when stopping slowly. I really like the manual slide for activating the brakes. This has been very useful for applying brakes on the trailer in a few critical braking moments. The manual lever is also very useful for checking the brakes after connecting the trailer to make sure they are working correctly. I also like that the display shows the level of braking that's applied to the trailer. The color of the back-lit display can also be adjusted to match the vehicle's displays. I definitely recommend this brake controller.

Tekonsha POD Trailer Brake Controller - 1 to 2 Axles - Time Delayed
We have a Honda Ridgeline and needed this for our camper trailer. It was nice ordering the specific plug in wire for the Ridgeline and therefore eliminating hard wiring, just plugged it in. It was rough getting to the factory plug under the dash by the emergency brake petal switch. My hands are not small enough, ha ha. But success was had. Plugged into the controller and mounted it and u-wall-a. It works the way it is suppose to, I like that. A good quality unit that does what it is suppose to. thanks.
Very happy with this product. It fit nicely in my truck and plugged right into the factory wiring harness. Total installation time was under an hour. Easy to adjust, and works perfectly with my 5th wheel trailer. I simply pulled out the little storage cubby from the dash, cut the back off, slid the controller in, bolted it together, and stuck it all back in the dash. Looks and works great.

Tekonsha Voyager Trailer Brake Controller - 1 to 4 Axles - Proportional
etrailer makes the purchase easy. I have always used Tekonsha Voyagers, and on my new truck (2015 Silverado) I also wanted the convenience of having the plug and play wiring harness. etrailer had exactly what I needed and was very easy to find on the website. Installation was flawless and clean thanks to the good hardware supplied. Very excited to put some trailers behind the truck with the stopping power confidence that comes with the Voyager.
The Tekonsha Voyager trailer brake controller works well in my 99 Silverado 1500, which was easy to setup for my trailer. The option to allow for different settings of aggression for the trailer braking has allowed the stopping with different loads to be graceful with the turn of a knob. Decided to install the controller in CD storage with velcro for a nice look. Easy access when in place during use for easy observation and twicking during operation. The wife can assist with the twicking while I am driving. Excellent product!

Curt Echo Wireless Brake Controller - 7-Way Plug-in w/ Bluetooth App - Up to 2 Axles - Proportional
Works amazingly well after the brief learning curve. You just can’t over think the process and do it. What a difference not having to install a brake controller on a new vehicle. I would buy it again.
Customer service response is prompt. Order arrived quickly. I’ve attached, synced, and tested the controller on my 2020 Tacoma, pulling my 16ft travel trailer. Lights and app indicate it is working. I’m still testing adjustments, as I’ve never used a brake controller. I saw some reviews that complained about brake pulsing at low speeds. I have NOT experienced this problem. Manual actuation works well at low speed. Information says app must run in the foreground. I’m trying to determine what that means. Can I open the app and switch to another app, or does the app need to stay on constant display?

Tekonsha Prodigy RF Wireless Brake Controller - Trailer Mount w Remote - 1 to 3 Axles - Proportional
Shipping was super quick! Installed the unit in 15 minutes. Mounted it on a tongue toolbox versus drilling the frame. Haven't paired it to my motorhome yet. Thanks E-Trailer, everything I have purchased from you guys has been exceptional and your customer service is great!
Before ordering I had reservations about the price of the controller. After the controller arrived very fast and I installed on trailer easily, I was using it from out the box with no programming problems. The controller works great without all the labor of installing past controllers on vehicles.

Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller - Dash Knob - Up to 2 Axles - Proportional
Being new to towing a larger trailer requires research. After doing a lot of it, both through user reviews and manufacturer websites, we landed on the Rearc Liberty Brake Controller for our Tacoma. We have just over 1000 miles towing with this unit. It has performed extremely well. Towing for us includes city, highway, mountains, and even off-road to access our mountain home. Installation was straight forward and the ability to install the controller in virtually any position is an added bonus. I was able to install the dash knob in a blank panel giving the Tacoma a factory appearance, and controller located under drivers seat. I installed this unit on a non tow package Tacoma, so wiring was a bit intimidating at first. But using etrailer’s web site as a reference had everything operational in a couple afternoons. Great product so far and we look for years of use. Highly recommend.
Its simple and fits in the dash like it should be there. It controls the trailer as it should. it only lights up when the trailer is connected so you don't see any annoying light during normal driving. I would recommend, it has worked for me. installed in a 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Autowbrake Electric Brake Controller - Trailer Mount w/ Remote Fob - Up to 3 Axles - Proportional
Works great. Would recommend practicing with it before hitting the road because it does act a little different than a regular brake controller. Requires a little more effort on braking for it to engage.
After installing this controller, towing my trailer has become so easy! I just plug in the electrical cable to my truck and go. If I need to adjust the braking strength, the remote on my keychain makes it simple with just a few clicks. This is much better than the Echo controller I was using. I love it!

Dexter Predator DX2 Trailer Brake Controller - Up to 2 Axles - Proportional
I am very satisfied with the Dexter Axle Predator Electric Brake controller. I purchased the Dexter brake controller to be compatible with Dexter car trailer axles on a 16 foot car hauler. The braking unit is very useful when towing in very steep and winding mountain terrain. I feel that the braking is a necessary safety item when towing in a hilly or mountainous environment and the Dexter Predator brake controller provides the great control and driver peace of mind knowing that a heavy load can be managed. The unit installs very easily with the proper adapter.
My brake controller was a great match for my needs. I have a 4 brake trailer which gets the proper control from my Dexter unit. From empty weight to heavy load the adjustment is just a slight roll of the knob. I like the digital read out so I can glance down to check system operations. It does great f or me and fit right in to the factory wire set up in my truck

Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller w/ Universal Wiring Harness - Dash Knob - Proportional
The only reason I did 4 was because the kit has you drill two holes, it mentions a template for drilling but none was included. I had to use the measurements in mm and pick a bit because it detail what size. Start small. Where I installed the switch there is some reinforcement that I had to dremel to get it installed but this the location Ford indicated. 23 Ranger Tremor.
Install was simple and it doesn't encroach on your leg space other than the manual button. My wife didn't want a brake controller box hanging down on the knee bolster so this is a great alternative for her tahoe.

Tuson DirecLink Base Model Trailer Brake Controller - 1 to 4 Axles - Proportional
Make sure you read into it further to make sure you are buying all the parts needed to make it work. Will need to add another Tuson Heavy Duty Truck Module Kit for DirecLink Brake Controller - 16 Pin 335HDCON-16PIN to make it work on HD Trucks.
Perfect for my application.

Curt Echo Under-Dash Bluetooth Brake Controller w/ OneControl App - Up to 4 Axles - Proportional
The break controller worked seamlessly. Profiles are easy to set up and it has very reliable Bluetooth connectivity with my phone. Installation was really easy on my Honda Pilot!
This is my first proportional brake controller. Stopping is much smoother without sacrificing safety. Communication by bluetooth makes for a clean installation.

Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Brake Controller for Tekonsha Harness - Off-Road Mode - Proportional
This worked perfect in our 2020 Acura MDX. Love how it looks and operates. I removed the center council (see link to video on how to below) and mounted everything in there. The control knob looks great and is out of the way. I removed the 12 volt charger port and put the knob in its place. The only catch was it was not easy to find the fuse for the brake controller. After research and trial and error, I found the fuse was #17 in the rear fuse box. I appreciate the great service and support from etrailer.
Purchased a 22' R-Pod 192 TT to pull behind my 2019 Benz GLS450 with a factory tow package. It was equipped with the "green brake connector" located by the left kick panel. Contacted etrailer to help choose the correct combination of parts for my vehicle. Was suggested the Redarc EBRH-ACCV3-NA Brake Controller and a TPH-017 Wire Harness. Once products were received, still needed a harness from the green connector to the unit. Wrote to manufacturer in Australia and was told also needed etrailer part number 3066-P. Ordered. Now had everything needed. However, where to mount the switch? One individual with the same Benz mounted it next to the cup holders, but he didn't have a switch for the cold/hot--I did. There was no where else to drill a 1" hole. Got an L-bracket from hardware store and modified it to accommodate the switch. Mounted the main unit securely to the underside of the dash panel and used 3M Dual Lock tape to attach it--no holes to drill. Haven't had an opportunity to tow yet; however, did follow the instructions for the initial "learn" by driving and braking without a trailer attached. Been quite a challenge, but happy with the results and support from manufacturer and etrailer. Happy Camping!

Install: Curt Echo Wireless Brake Controller on a 2022 Toyota Tundra
How's it going, neighbors This is Ed here with etrailer.com and we're taking a look at the Curt Echo Wireless Brake Controller on our 2022 Toyota Tundra. Adding a brake controller to your vehicle is gonna allow you to have additional safety and control of your trailer. And adding a wireless device like the Curt Echo is gonna allow you to have that control without having to manually wire anything into the system. The traditional box-style brake controller, you know, has the nickname knee-knocker 'cause they're usually mounted in that position where it would interfere with where your leg clearance is. Alternatively, we have some that are gonna be minimally invasive, like the REDARC where it's just a knob on your dash, but that installation does require a little bit more and it is permanent. So if you have multiple trailers or trucks or you have a leased truck where you can't make those permanent changes, the Curt Echo is gonna be a great option to allow you to have brakes on your trailer and control it using your Bluetooth device.
2015 Toyota Tundra Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller: Complete Installation
Rob: How's it going everybody Rob here at etrailer.com and today we're going to be taking a look at the Tekonsha P3 Trailer Brake Controller on our 2015 Toyota Tundra. Here's what our brake controller looks like once it's installed and we chose to mount ours on the right-hand side of the steering wheel, just so we could see it pretty easily when we're driving and we have access to everything we need to. This is what we consider a traditional style brake controller, because it is going to be a box that has to mount on the dash. There are a lot more newer styles that are coming out where either is a remote style mounting system, where it's not mounted on the dash, or a very small button or dial that's mounted on the dash rather than such a big box. But with this being a traditional style brake controller, it's still is a really nice, very good functioning brake controller. Partially because it's a proportional brake controller. What that means is that when we push on the brakes in our Tundra, it's going to apply the brakes to our trailer in the same time and intensity.
Setting up the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Trailer Brake Controller on a 2015 Toyota Tundra
Today on our 2015 Toyota Tundra we're going to take a look at and show you how to install the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Proportional Trailer Brake Controller. Works great for one up to four axles, part number on it is 90885. We're also going to be using the Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter for electronic brake controllers, part number on that, 3017-P. The P2 also offers safeguards built right in to the system to protect your vehicle, your trailer, and the brake controller itself. It defends the brake controller and trailer brake-away system system against shorts. It's going to help to prevent any overheating we might experience on those long stops by slowly reducing the power output going to the brakes, and it also minimizes the drain on the battery. When not in use it only draws 3.6 mA. The P2's going to be an excellent choice in brake controllers.
Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2014 Toyota Tundra
Today on our 2014 Toyota Tundra, we'll be installing the Hopkins InSIGHT Flex-Mount Break Controller, part # HM47297. To install this break controller, we're also going to use the Hopkins Plug-In Simple Brake Wiring Adapter, part # HM47815. Now to begin our install, we'll first locate the manufacturers tow port so that we can plug our Direct-Fit Wiring Harness into it. Here on the driver's side kick panel behind the parking brake pedal, we can locate the manufacturers tow port. As you can see it's taped up to the main wiring harness, so I'm just going to use my utility knife to cut the tape and pull it free. Now that we've got the tow port free, we can take the white connector end of our Direct-Fit Wiring Harness, plug it directly into the manufacturers tow port. Next, we'll go ahead and route the four pull connector over to where we're going to mount the brake controller box. When routing your wires, stay away from any moving components such as the gas, brake, or emergency break pedal.
Mount: Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter for Electric Brake Controllers on a 2013 Toyota Tundra
Today, on our 2013 Toyota Tundra, we'll be installing the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Brake Controller, part number 90195. In conjunction with the Tekonsha Plug and Play Wiring Adapter, part number 3040-P. To begin our install, we'll first go ahead and mount the brake controller bracket. For this application, I'll be using a couple of self tapping screws or you can also use the screws provided with the brake controller install kit. Once we have the brake controller mounted, we'll then go ahead and set the brake controller in the bracket and secure it with the screws provided in the install kit. Next, we'll need to go ahead and plug in our Plug and Play Wiring Adapter. Before I install the wiring harness, I'm using black electrical tape to wrap up the wires to hold the ground wire to the harness and to clean up our install look. Now with the taped up, we'll go ahead and take the white connector and plug it into the manufacturer's towing port, that's located on the driver's side, just above the kick panel and between it and the parking brake pedal. Now, with that connection made, we'll take the white wire, with the pre-attached ring terminal, which should be the ground wire for our harness, and secure here it to a body ground, which our parking brake pedal bracket is grounded so we can use our self tapping screw and secure it directly to that. Now, with those connections made, we'll go ahead and route our wire back over to the brake controller and install it into the back of the brake controller. Now we have it routed and installed, I'll go ahead and use a couple of black zip ties to secure our wiring up underneath the dash, and then we'll cut off the excess from the zip ties to clean up our install look. Now with that, we're ready to hit the road. That's about it the install of the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Brake Controller, part number 90195, in conjunction with the Tekonsha Plug and Play Wiring Adapter, part number 3040-P on our 2013 Toyota Tundra. .

We can then take the direct connect harness white plug end and plug directly into the manufacturer's tow port. We'll then go ahead and start routing the harness over towards the center of the vehicle near the console being careful to stay away from any moving parts, such as the parking brake pedal. Next, we need to mount the brake controller. To mount the brake controller, we'll use the brake controller bracket and hardware provided with the install kit. We'll go ahead and take the hardware and secure the bracket directly to the brake controller first. Then we can take the bracket and secure itto the dash using the hardware provided.

Today in our 2008 Toyota Tundra, we're going to take a look at and show you how to install the Tekonsha Prodigy P2. This is a proportional trailer brake controller that'll work for one up to four axles. It's part number is 90885. It's very user-friendly which you'll see from the reviews, but it does a great job. This is a proportional brake controller so what that means is that it senses the deceleration that's in our truck, and it brakes our trailer accordingly.
Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2008 Toyota Tundra TK90160
Today on our 2008 Toyota Tundra, we're going to take a look at and also show you how to install the Tekonsha Primus IQ. This proportional trailer brake controller works great for one of the three axles. Its part number is TK90160. We're also going to be using the Tekonsha Plug-in Wiring Adapter, part number 3040-P. The Primus IQ is a proportional braking system. What that means is it uses a sensor located inside to detect the braking force that's coming from our truck. In an emergency stop situation where we really get on the brakes hard, it feels that and it's going to send immediate heavy braking power to the rear up to whatever we've set with our gain.
Install: Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller on a 2007 Toyota Tundra
Speaker 1: Today on our 2007 Toyota Tundra, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Proportional Trailer Brake Controller for one to four axles, part number 90195. To help us get that installed, we're going to be using the Tekonsha Plugin Wiring Adapter, part number 3040-P. This is what our brake controller looks like when it's installed. What this is going to be good for, it's going to allow you to apply the brakes in your trailer whilst being towed. In turn, saving the brakes in your truck so it doesn't have to stop the trailer, the trailer's going to be able to slow itself down. These arrows right here on the left side, these are going to be your gain setting. You can see it goes up to 14 and goes all the way down to zero.
How to Install: Tekonsha Voyager Trailer Brake Controller on your 2007 Toyota Tundra
Speaker 1: Today on our 2007 Toyota Tundra, we're going to be taking a look at, and showing you how to install the Tekonsha Voyager proportional trailer brake controller for one to four axles, part number 39510.To help us get that installed, we're going to be using the Tekonsha plug-in wiring adaptor, part number 3040-P.This is what our brake controller looks like when it's installed. This is going to be a proportional brake controller. What that means is it's going to have a sensor inside that going to detect the deceleration of your Tundra, and it's going to send the appropriate amount of force to our trailer brakes. For instance, if we're in an emergency situation and we have to slam on our brakes in our truck, the sensor is going to immediately send that signal to our trailer brakes to match the amount of force being applied so that our trailer can slow itself down, in turn saving the Tundra's brakes, because it's not going to have to slow or stop both the truck and the trailer. Now this is going to be a pretty simple, straight-forward brake controller. It's not going to have any screens or anything like that to look at. It simply has a light that will change colors depending on how you have it set. This know here on the right, this is going to be your gain.
Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2007 Toyota Tundra TK90160
Speaker 1: Today on our 2007 Toyota Tundra, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Tekonsha Primus IQ trailer brake controller for one to three axle, part number TK90160. To help us get that installed, we're going to be using the Tekonsha plugin wiring adapter, part number 3040-P.This is what our brake controller looks like when it's installed. What this is going to be good for is this is going to help you apply brakes to your trailer while you're traveling, in turn saving the brakes on your truck. This is going to be a proportional brake controller which means that the braking force applied in the truck will be matched on the trailer. For instance if we have a quick braking situation and you apply the brakes in your truck, the same amount of force will be applied to the trailer brakes so that the trailer will stop itself instead of the truck having to stop both. Now how this is going to differ from a time delayed, on a time delayed brake controller, when you apply the brakes in the truck it's going to take a few seconds for the brakes to be applied in the trailer. This is just the opposite.
Set up: Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter for Electric Brake Controllers on a 2007 Toyota Tundra
Today we are going to install on a 2007 Toyota Tundra and we will be installing the brake controller part number 39519 the Tekonsha Prodigy. We will also be using part number 3040-p from Tekonsha which lets you plug into the factory tow package in the vehicle. We begin our install by finding a spot to mount our bracket onto. Just go ahead and put it up there and see if you like it as a nice place to put a brake controller. It should give you a pretty good idea of how it fits. Makes sure you can access the thumb wheel on top. Seeing the LED screen is equally important. Now that you know it is in the correct position you can go ahead and mark the holes before you drill them. Now we will go ahead and drill out our holes after we have marked them.
Draw-Tite I-Command Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2005 Toyota Tundra
Speaker 1: Today on our 2005 Toyota Tundra, we're gonna be taking a look at, showing you how to install, the Draw-Tite I-Command Trailer Brake Controller, for 1 to 4 Axles, part number 5535. Now, to help us in our installation we're also gonna be using the Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter for Electric Brake Controllers for Toyotas and Lexuses, part number 3040-P.So here's what our break controller looks like when it's fully installed. Now, our break controller is proportional, which means it's gonna apply our trailer breaks in the same intensity that our vehicle is slowing down. It's gonna do that because there's an inertia sensor inside, so when our vehicle starts to slow down, that sensor is gonna realize how much we're slowing down, apply our trailer breaks accordingly. Now, it's also gonna feature a manual override, in case you ever need to have a time where you need to apply the trailer brakes without applying the brakes on your truck. You can grab this lever, and if we start rotating it to the side, it will apply the maximum amount of breaks if we have it all the way over. Now, our gain setting is gonna be these gray buttons right here, and it's gonna max out at 10, and will go all the way down to zero.
Mount: Curt Echo Wireless Brake Controller on a 2004 Toyota Tundra
Today on our 2004 Toyota Tundra we're going to be taking a look at the Curt Echo. This is a proportional brake controller designed to work with one or two axles. Now, the Echo's going to come in really handy for a lot of different situations. Maybe you're not very mechanically inclined and you don't want to go through the install process of a traditional brake controller. This simply plugs in between our truck and our trailer, gives us everything we need, works like a traditional brake controller would, using our smart phone. There are other reasons that we'll turn to this, too.
DIY Install: Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Trailer Brake Controller on your 2002 Toyota Tundra
Today on this 2002 Toyota Tundra, were going to install the Prodigy P2 Brake Controller, part number 90885, and we are also going to use the install kit part number ETBC7. So our first step involved is to go ahead and remove the factory four pole wiring harness, and we are going to mount our 7 pole bracket to that. There are two screws we are going to remove right here, remove the bracket from the four pole as well. Were going to remove the two Phillip screws to free up the bracket from the four pole, there is one here and one on the other side. Now our 7 pole bracket just barely misses the two mounting holes on the factory bracket, so what we are going to do is actually drill these out to 3/8ths of an inch. They will get pretty thin on the side here, but it will be enough to hold everything together, it will be almost factory when we are done.
What our customers are saying:
"Ordered the part on Saturday and had it by Wednesday. $35-$75 cheaper than I could find anywhere else. I plan on using this site again."
