Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2"
Mazda CX5 Grand Touring 2019 excellent accessory, good quality and easy to install
This trailer hitch was, for me, very easy to install. I did not have any special tools but with only hand tools and not even jacking the car up I was able to install it in less than an hour. I did need my daughter to provide an extra set of hands while putting the first bolts in. I was very pleased with the quality of construction and ease of installation. It looks like the hitch came the car when I purchased it new. I would strongly recommend E Trailer.

Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2"
This is the second hitch I've ordered from etrailer and again it was a smooth experience. Very easy to find the correct model for your car and the installation videos are top notch. I had a helper for the install and it took about an hour an a half. Wasn't too bad. I installed without using ramps or a jack but did back out to the end of the driveway and the 6 inch drop to the road was helpful. The worst part was getting the muffler hangers off. One video suggested removing the muffler but we decided not to after seeing how much room we had. Hitch seems to be high quality and fit perfectly. Looks great. Highly recommend watching the videos.
Shipping was prompt and the hitch was packaged well. There was a little bit of scuffing on the non visible side of the hitch but it didn’t matter. The instructional video was detailed and exact. It took a little longer than advertised to install it but that’s just on me. Overall, I had an excellent experience with E-Trailers and would purchase from them again.

This is the third Hitch I have purchased and installed myself from etrailer which testifies to the quality, reasonable delivery times, ease of installation, clear instructions and overall satisfaction I have with products I have purchased. While it is easier if there are two people when the hitch is lifted into place, I have installed two of the three by myself. I am over 60 years old.
This is installed on our 2020 Mazda CX-5. It has been great. I had it installed by a local garage, but it took them less than an hour and they didn't report any problems. Since then the trailer has been rock solid. We use it with a Kuat bike rack. That rack is easy to get on and off the hitch and very stable when installed.

Purchased for my daughter / son-in-law's 2014 Maxda CX5 as they like to camp, have dogs and are always cramped for space. It's great for use with a hitch mounted cargo carrier or hitch mounted bike rack. Product arrived undamaged (though corner of hitch assembly was protruding from the box...a stronger box or a hard liner for the box would be better). It took my son-in-law and I about 2 hours to install; we took our time. Watching the install video is important and I recommend thoroughly reading instructions and ensuring a good understanding of the process (ex: understanding "teeth on the washers" is an easily missed detail that can be understood too late). I needed my SIL's set of hands to help hold the hitch assembly as it came time to bolt it to the frame. All else can be a one-person job. We jacked the car up about 15-inches and that helped with installation...but you could install without jacking the car. Overall, very pleased with the product, the accurate instructions and the relative ease of installation. It sounds a little more difficult than it is!
The product arrived ahead of time. It came packaged properly and with all the materials included. The dealer wanted to charge $[XX] dollar for the hitch + $[XX] to install it. It was installed within an hour and I saved $[XX]

Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class II - 1-1/4"
Unfortunately, my otherwise reliable friend decided to elope earlier this month, and will be gone until late July. So, I set about installing this Curt C12170 by myself, slowly and carefully. My CX-5 is brand new; I was very careful. I used the Lisle muffler removal tool and silicone spray. (Don’t buy a cheapie muffler tool – they snap. Go for the Lisle or better). After two days, I gave up. I made it to Step 7, but lifting the receiver into position is a two-man job. I could not lift it, move the electrical wires out of the way, and pull the bumper cover back all by myself. The Good News: My nephew dropped by July 13 and helped me install the hitch receiver. It took us about 20 minutes to lift the receiver into position, fish the bolts through, and put the front bolts into the frame finger tight. It took me another 45 minutes to tighten and torque the hardware, zip tie the electrical cables, and rehang the muffler. Now that it is installed, it looks great. I have mounted a Draftmaster trike rack and they function well together.
Truly impressed- Great product at a great price. My installation took about 3 hrs, compared to the 50 minutes shared in the online directions. That said, I did the installation using floor ramps, vice having the vehicle up on a lift, so I had to wrestle more awkwardly because I was laying on my back vice standing up. And in my case, I had a very hard time getting the back bolts installed first, so I switched things up and installed the front bolts first, and then used a floor jack to jack up the back part of the hitch (pivoting on the front bolt) to get it closer to the correct height for the bolts to be pulled through. That said, the Installation Video was VERY HELPFUL, and I am very pleased with the product, and the entire interaction with etrailer.com!! (sorry for the lousy photos... just wanted to show that I actually did the installation)

Stealth Hitches Hidden Rack Receiver - Custom Fit - 2"
Love this thing. Easy to use, and keeps my car looking good when not in use. This is the 2nd car I’ve had with the stealth hitch. Love it.
Construction and finish are top notch. However, I do have a few of issues: (1) I had to cut 3/8” off two of the four provided bolts, as they would not fit into the rear-most frame section of my 2024 CX-5 along with the backing plates; (2) I got the list of “tools required” together but found at an unfortunate key point that the nuts are not 15/16” but 9/16”; (3) this is only a DYI job if your garage is equipped with a lift and two other people to help muscle the hitch into the four floating bolts. Fortunately, etrailer’s top recommended local installer (KAR Automotive) bailed me out.

Pretty easy installation, only because etrailer provided the installation video. Instructions did not explain how to fish the hitches' bolts through the holes. also, was able to install by myself, using a pair of jackstands to support the hitch.
Seems like a solid well built hitch. I used a few jackstands to hold the hitch and raise each side up and I was able to do the install myself. Getting the bolts ready went smooth for 3 out of 4..one was a pain for some reason on the driver rear but I got it.

Exactly as described! I have an older 2011 Honda Odyssey that I needed a hitch for and didn’t want to spend a ton of money for the minimal use it would get. When I researched hitches etrailer kept coming up with great reviews. Their site rated the install at 3 out of 10 stars and the reviews said 1-2 hours doing it alone. It was super easy. No ramps or special equipment or fancy tools needed!
Great quality hitch. Easy install. I used jack stands and a cinder block to hold it in place while I bolted it on. No rust on it yet which is good for living in New England.

Well made, well finished and heavy duty product! If you are even halfway handy, you can install this yourself. Like anything, fitting is exact.
Product was all there but arrived with shipping damage. Might want to think about how to keep the heavy items from moving in the shipping carton or protect the outside edges with cardboard or something. I'll touch up the paint but wanted to give some feedback, you guys seem pretty receptive to input. Other than that there was good communication through the whole process. Fast service. Thank you.

Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class I - 1-1/4"
The hitch was installed with minor issues. I have an after market exhaust on my 2010 MS3. We had to detach the exhaust from the hangers in order to get the hitch up to bolt on. The instructions were great, just the work around got us. Because of that it took us about 2 hours to get it installed. etrailer was also very helpful with question I had regarding the shipping. I'll definitely be coming back to buy my next hitch.
Seems to be holding up great! My use of it has probably been somewhat below average as the main reason I bought was to haul around a bike rack (in which that has not happened as often as I thought it would)... tested my confidence initially with the installation using the guide wire (fishing?) technique to secure it to car but it turned out to be really easy. On a later trip for tire rotations, I just asked a technician there to torque the bolts to specification. Thanks etrailer.com

Perfect fit and extremely easy installation on my wife's 2013 SantaFe Sport. Only took me about 30 minutes, after watching the etrailer installation video. Best of all, the hitch didn't cost me $697.00 as it is listed on the Hyundai accessories website - that's absolutely crazy!! I would recommend you check to see if you have the factory tow connection already on the vehicle before ordering the wiring kit. All I needed was the C56151 kit, which plugs directly into the factory plug just behind the driver side rear tire. I ordered everything before checking and selected "without factory tow package", since there wasn't a tow hitch already installed on the vehicle. The wiring kit recommended was C56184, which will work, but is a more complicated installation. It would be great if there was a prompt telling you to check for the factory plug, prior to ordering the wiring kit. My wife is now very happy that she can tow our small utility trailer anywhere she wants. THANKS etrailer.com!
Arrived quickly, so that's a plus. The way this slides into place on the 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe there is an alignment pin where the bumper is slid forward during the car assembly that is close to where the bolts are. I was impressed by the precise construction of the hitch that it slide up into place without interfering with alignment pins. I did have to bend the driver's side pin just a touch (as instructed by the instructions) to get a proper socket on one of the large nuts to apply the correct torque. I'm talking 3 millimeters or something. Not a worry at all, all stock use of the pin is completely retained. Heavy duty powdercoating. Not that you'll get much chance to appreciate it, since once it's installed, the hitch is super stealthy. The picture attached is taken just a couple feet off the ground. I installed it in my driveway without a lift, just a couple of drive up ramps. I don't LOVE rolling around on concrete, but meh, it's totally doable. The time estimates given, I'm guessing, are for using a lift. From start to finish, including being called in for dinner, and picking up all my tools afterward, it took me a couple hours.

This Hitch Reciever fit my '89 Ford Ranger perfectly. Had it installed in less than 30 minutes. Heavy duty design. I've had it over a year now and it has held up great. A huge improvement from the original ball in bumper design.
Fits right. Had to cut the corner at a 45 on one of the square shim washers due to a lip on the frame rail at the spare tire. Wouldn’t sit flat. Other than that, about 30 minutes from start to finish.

Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2"
Bought the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Class III 2" hitch receiver for a 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Quality is well built and was properly packaged for transportation. It took me approximately 15 mins to install (remove, tighten and torque 4 factory bolts). Delivery was spot on with the provided ETA. This will be the second time I order a hitch through eTrailer. eTrailer provided the lowest cost (product + shipping) compared to many others online. Will definitely shop and order with eTrailer again.
Just put this hitch on my wife’s 2017 Jeep grand Cherokee. I was able to get under the back and install this on my own. Pretty straightforward and didn’t have any difficulty. So far, we’ve only used it for bike rack. Will install light wire harness next. Overall, pleasant experience with etrailer.com

Came 2 days early, didn't take my money till they ship it. Plus I never like to order anything online because I'm afraid it won't fit. But they said it would an it did( 2016 chevy traverse). Also it says 45 mins to install. Sounds About right 10 mins asking the wife an kids to help hold it up with no luck, 10 mins looking for my tools 18mm & 3/4 wrench,10 mins looking at the picture of the instructions because what GUY really reads it? lol, 10 mins putting it on by myself laying on my back in the driveway using my leg to hold it up & 5 mins putting on 1 bolt by the muffler because I didn't read the instructions an lower the muffler out of my way hahahah. P.s is you have soft hands I suggest wearing gloves an waiting for the muffler to cool off because i didn't ??. But all in all it was easy & fast to put on even if your by yourself. Definitely ordering again if I need anything for her car. Thanks etrailer
The instructions were spot on The videos were extremely helpful Price was great, and buying the trailer hitch, wiring harness, and fuse together as a package made the project easy. I would not hesitate to do that again when necessary.

Ordering was a breeze. Delivery was quick. Installation went smoothly. Couldn’t be happier. I bought the unit for carrying bicycles so did not bother with the wiring harness.
Great so far. Recieved hitch but haven't installed it yet. But the product looks very well made and no damage from shipping.

Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class I - 1-1/4"
Although the instructions say this will not fit the Kona EV, in fact it fits just fine. The bumper cover, bumper cover bottom trim, and the under-tray all have to be trimmed but other than the center of three supports that connect the bottom trim and under-tray to the bumper cover, all fasteners go back into their original locations. In the last picture you can see how the left endplate of the hitch pushed the bumper cover and trim back and down. If I trimmed it to sit perfectly, I would have lost the screw that connects the bottom trim to the upper cover so I only cut it as much as I dared.
I did the installation by myself, so I made a fixture to attach to my floor jack to lift the hitch into place. It worked perfectly! The hitch is well constructed and fits the car precisely. Instructions and video were super helpful and much appreciated. Using the hitch for a bicycle rack. My old rack attached to the car, and left marks and scratches on the paint. This hitch allows me to transport bikes without touching the vehicle at all!

I think this will serve my purpose. I wish to pull a 4x8 utility trailer with 4-wheeler. My son hopes the bolts are strong enough as intended. I thought the hitch would be more hidden but it will be ok as is. Less expensive than the dealership price. The wiring instructions have it going thru the back and out of the hatch door. Not a good idea so we installed wiring underneath.
This is a well made hitch, much like all of the Curt products I have used over the years. It works great for hauling our bike carrier. The design of this hitch makes it hang L-O-W. So low that it scrapes on dips in the road and when coming out of the driveway. -1 star for the design.

Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2"
The box arrived quite beat up, but the receiver was in fine shape. I noted some chipped/scratched paint, but nothing was bent or damaged. Before bolting it up I sprayed the problem paint areas with a little quick-dry polyurethane to prevent rust from cropping up. Bolted up perfectly! There was some open space between the plates for the second horizontal bolt, but after torquing it to 70 lbs, everything snugged up and was tight. It fits nice and close under the bumper which is good because the Dakota is not that high to begin with. Very happy with the purchase.
Trailer hitch could not have fit any better. The packaging was inadequate and metal was sticking out of both sides of the tattered box. The paint was rubbed off where the packaging was not protecting it. The hardware was excellent and I installed this hitch and torqued the nuts in under 2 hours and I didn't even hustle. The old upper rear bumper bolts were frozen, so I appreciate getting hardened steel replacements. The welding is nice but maybe a bit convex in some of the profiles. I had never heard of Curt hitches but this is well made.

Well packaged by etrailer (see photo). It took me around 90 minutes to install this (instead of 40 minutes as per manual), and this was on a mazda 6. And 30 minutes of that was to undo a mistake of using the wrong hole for the fish wire on one side. Please pay attention to the diagram, the same access hole has to be used for fish wiring both the bolts on each side. The second most challenging part was raising the hitch to the right height. Luckily I had some wood shelves lying around that I was able to use in combination with the cardboard shipping box. I also had to make a trip to harbor frieight tools to buy a $24 torque wrench, but alas I could not figure out how to get the bolts torqued to spec, I wasn't too worried about that as I am only using this for an occasional bike rack. I will try torquing the bolts again soon, I just wasn’t able to get enough leverage when I last tried it, probably because I needed a shorter extension. Overall I wouldn’t mind doing this again.
Wow! This trailer hitch fits like a glove and was so easy to install. I bought a Hidden Hitch 12 years ago for my 2006 Mazda 6, and while it served me well, the installation was much more involved and required drilling. I traded in the 2006 for a 2016 Mazda 6, and I was able to install the Curt Trailer Hitch by myself on the garage floor in about 20 minutes with only the provided fish wires and a 3/4" deep well socket on a breaker bar with a 6" extension. On the black body, you can hardly tell it's there, and as you can see, it readily accomodates my Saris bike rack that I had used with my previous hitch. I unconditionally recommend this trailer hitch.

If you want a little bit more, if you plan on doing some towing or using larger bike racks or cargo carriers, I usually recommend the larger two inch by two inch hitch. There's just a lot more stuff available for those, and they're a little more heavy duty, a little more capable, if you're interested in those, the one that I particularly like is the etrailer.com one.

Installing the EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver on your 2021 Mazda CX-5
Hey everybody, how's it going Today, we're gonna be going over and showing you how to install the EcoHitch hidden trailer hitch receiver here on our 2021 Mazda CX5. So this is what our trailer hitch is gonna look like installed on our CX5 here. Now, as the name says, this actually has a hidden design, which means the cross tube is gonna be tucked away behind the bumper. So the only thing we are gonna be able to see is the receiver tube, which gives us the best overall appearance. Now what we can see the receiver tube, as well as the rest of the hitch is gonna have that hammer black powder coated finish, which is gonna do a great job of helping protect that hitch over time, being that it's on the underside of the vehicle and subjected to the elements. So adding a trailer hitch to your CX5 is gonna be an excellent option because it's gonna make your vehicle that much more versatile.
Installing the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver on your 2021 Mazda CX-5
Hi there Mazda owners today in your 2021 Mazda CX nine, we're going to be taking a look at it, and we're going to show you how to install curt's one and a quarter inch trailer hitch receiver. And this is what our hitch looks like when it's installed, and so one and a quarter inch receiver. So it's going to be great for accessories, such as bike racks and some of the smaller cargo carriers. It can also be used for some light duty towing as well. We can see here that when it's installed, the cross tube is going to be hidden completely behind our bumper. So we're really just going to see the receiver here at the back and with it being a one and a quarter inch, it's fairly small and tucked up fairly far underneath the vehicle.

Hey everybody, how's it going Today, we're gonna be going over and showing you how to install the curt trailer hitch receiver here on our 2021 Mazda CX-5. And as you can see here, pretty much everything is gonna be hidden behind the bumper there. Therefore the only thing we can see is the receiver tube opening which gives it a very factory-like appearance. Now in regards to the coating on the trailer hitch, it has a shiny black powder-coated finish. This does a couple of different things. Number one, it helps blend in with the vehicle's under body paneling and it also helps protect the hitch from rust and corrosion being that it is on the underside of the vehicle subjected to the elements.

And if it we're me too, I'd want something that'll look decent and I think this one checks that box. You know, for the most part it's gonna be completely hidden and really you're just gonna be able to see the receiver tube opening and to compare this one to some of the other ones out there, they're all gonna be pretty similar appearance-wise at least, really just being able to see this portion of the hitch.
