Yakima SpareRide 2 Bike Rack - Spare Tire Mount - Folding Arms
After a couple of weeks of researching which type of bike rack I wanted for my Jeep Wrangler Unlimited JK (hitch mount or spare tire), I decided on the spare tire mount. And after a 4hr (roundtrip) mountain biking weekend escape, I'm very happy with my decision. What I like about the rack: well built, very sturdy with bike(s) mounted (no sway or rattle), arms fold down and lock in place when not in use (looks slick), full access to cargo area without needing to remove rack, rack and bike cable locks included, economical, lifetime warranty and of course the dual bottle openers ; ) What I would improve upon or revise in a future model: arms should be longer (even just an inch because bikes rub slightly so I had to add padding), more use of aluminum rather than plastic (thinking long term durability of the plastic locking teeth and arms) Thanks eTrailer
2015 Jeep WranglerThis bike carrier is great! It is very well made and is secured to the vehicle with a keyed lock. It comes with a locking cable for the bike as well. I can open the tailgate and access the trailer hitch while the bike is on the carrier. I could not be more pleased!

Hollywood Racks SR1 2-Bike Carrier - Spare Tire Mount
This HRSR1 bike carrier will not fit a 2023 Jeep Wrangler JL UNLESS you remove the stock Liddy Light and associated bracket. Upon discovering this, I was able to locate an aftermarket kit which allows for the relocation of the light to just above the rear camera. The kit was easily installed and the bike mount was installed just as easily as the directions explain. The new location of the light is partially obscured with the bikes mounted and, although not ideal, it is adequate and certainly better than total removal. I was unable to find any mention of this situation in the install instructions or reviews prior to purchase of the rack. I just wish I had been aware of this before purchase. I would have rated 5 stars for this product were it not for the slight hiccup. Kudos to etrailer. It is always a pleasure to do business with them. They are very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable.
JeepIt's sturdy even off-road, and it's simple to take on and off. I've had to use my spare tire twice since owning this rack, and although I have to remove my bike and loosen the bike rack bolts a bit, it comes off and goes back on with minimal effort, which is nice when you're on the Alaska Highway and it's snowing. I've carried my full-suspension bike on this rack for 35k miles all over the U.S. and Canada. I like how my bike fits close to the tire, where I lock it. My tailgate opens without the bike touching the side of my Jeep. Great bang for the buck.

RockyMounts BackStage Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 2" Hitches - Wheel Mount
This is a really good rack. We do a lot of car camping out of our Subaru Outback and I wanted a bike rack that would swing aside so we can raise the hatchback and easily access the camping gear, cooler, duffel bags, etc that we carry in back (see photo). This rack 100% solves that problem. Further, the bike hold-downs are very secure. I use them on their own for shorter trips. For a longer trip or one that may involve a rough road, I supplement them with a ratchet strap, but this is probably just unnecessary paranoia--the hold-downs are excellent. My one heads-up about this rack is that it is heavy. I am a large, strong man and can attach it myself, but I do not look forward to the chore. This is a beefy rack and the weight is unavoidable. I welcome how sturdily-built the rack is. We typically carry my normal bike and my wife's heavy e-bike on it, and the rack is totally up to the job. Highly recommended. I have zero regrets about the purchase and the investment in this rack that will serve us for many years to come. The design is pretty much perfect--I can't think of one thing I would change.
We love our RockyMounts BackStage Bike Rack. The fact that it can hold our two e-bikes and swings out for rear door access makes it perfect for vanlife. Service and communication from etrailer is outstanading!

Swagman XTC2 Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Frame Mount
I was sent additional mounting materials that don't correspond with my hitch or my bike rack. See the photo below. Are these materials for my Swagman STC2 Bike Rack Item #S64670?
Very stable and simple to use bike rack that works great with my road bike AND with my 29" Big Rippers. It makes loading and unloading the bikes a snap and they are safe and secure for traveling once loaded and secured. I have already logged over a thousand miles hauling bicycles with this rack and highly recommend it. I am a big fan of Yakima roof racks but, honestly, wish I would have went with this setup for my bikes from the beginning.

This bike rack has worked well for us. We have a Jeep Wrangler, with the spare tire on the back of the tailgate, and needed a rack that would hold the bikes in a trailer hitch, and swing away so we could easily access the rear storage of the jeep. This has worked out perfectly! I did have to use a hitch extender to clear the rear tire, but that was expected. The rack works well, holds the bikes as expected, and is easy to use, and get on and off the vehicle. I am very satisfied!

Swagman XTC4 Bike Rack for 4 Bikes - 2" Hitches - Frame Mount
Rack is very sturdy and heavy duty. Instructions were terrible. Locking hitch pin would not thread correctly and ended up damaging it. Thankfully the threads on rack were fine and I was able to use the non-locking threaded pin. Would like a replacement locking pin ASAP
For the price, it's a good-quality, sturdy bike rack. I have used it about 5-7 times with no issues. I only used it for one adult and two kids' bikes, but I am sure it can handle four bikes as advertised. It's great that the rack folds upwards when it's not required.

Malone Runway Spare Tire Bike Rack for 3 Bikes - Adjustable Arms
The bike rack arrived quickly. It was missing a wrench. We read the directions but found a video that was very helpful to us in setting the rack in place.
The eTrailer has been a God send and we are so grateful. Our son-in-law died from COVID last year which left our daughter and two grand-daughters alone. This eTrailer was a gift which allows the three of them to get out for bike rides whenever they need to “clear their heads” and be refreshed in God’s glorious creation. Swagman XC2 Bike Rack for 2 bikes - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Frame Mount
This is a well designed rack. Adding and removing bikes is quick & easy. Just set the bike on & slide the padded hook down onto the bike frame to secure it; no straps required. If only one bike is transported, it does not interfere with opening the trunk on our Tesla Model 3. With 2 bicycles the trunk cannot be opened. For 2 bikes the Swagman model that can tilt might be worth the extra 22 bucks. This rack uses a bolt in the receiver hitch instead of a pin. This locks it securely preventing it from moving in the hitch & rattling. It also requires a wrench to remove it, good for theft prevention but one more thing to keep track of. For storage on the vehicle the top bar folds down. For storage in the garage, the left & right bars fold up & you can hang it using one of the hooks.
So far so good. The rack wiggles a bit, but that is expected. I have it on my 2007 Corolla and I have hit 65+ on the highway with it and have not had a problem. I would recommend getting a locking pin. The one included is threaded, which aside from security, makes it harder to take the rack on and off. I would also look into a DIY way to secure the wheels better. I am using some bungee straps which do the job no problem. The two bikes I carry are at the racks capacity.

Kuat NV 2.0 Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 2" Hitches - Wheel Mount - Gunmetal Gray
Fantastic bike rack. Switch it between a Honda Ridgeline and a Subaru Outback Wilderness and it works perfectly. Accidentally lost the locking pin that secures the rack to the trailer hitch and when I inquired with Kurt about ordering a replacement lock keyed to match the locking cables on the rack and the Kuat rep sent one to me for free. (I removed the rack and left the lock sitting on my car bumper. Later that day I drove off and lost the lock on the highway).
Great bike rack. It is easy to install the hitch on a vehicle and to remove it. The Kuat NV 2.0 provides a smooth, gentle ride for road bikes and mountain bikes. Great purchase. Highly recommend.

Surco Spare Tire 3-Bike Carrier
Hi This is an Excellent Bike Rack, It came in no time, Nicely Plastic Wrapped incase of Rain, The Instructions were an Easy Read. I Installed it on my 2001 Honda CRV which was a Breeze, I do think that People Who are too week to lift a Tire shouldnt attempt this alone Though. When You install it you have one hand to hold the tire and one to Screw in your bolts. It does require Strength and Dexterity, and we who ride Bikes already Have that I would Think. Curt Bike Rack for 5 Bikes - 2" Hitches - Tilting
The straps are junk and four of them tore within a week of using them. I also almost lost one bike because of the straps. If I could I would return this unit.
We used this bike rack for at least 2 RV trips. The third trip we took we lost one bike off of the rear most rack. Ended up having to replace this bike rack with one from another store. Would only recommend for local trips only.

Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes - 2" Hitches - Frame Mount
This rack is heavy, easy to assemble and has zero wobble. The reason I purchased this rack was due to the quality of the rack, but also my last experience with trailer. Great customer service, and if you have a question, it's pretty easy to get hold of a real person! I actually purchased this for an Ebike.

That is one thing I noticed right out of the box. This thing's awesome.So almost all of it is made of aluminum and we're not going to have any frame contact. As you see, we have a really cool feature here. It's just going to clamp down on your wheels.

So one thing I want to let you guys know first to make this fit properly, we are going to need to add a hitch extender. The one we're using here is a Curt and it is going to add about eight inches to the hitch receiver that you currently have. So just take that into consideration when we're going over the measurements and such. There are other options, so depending on what kind of tire you got and what kind of preference you have on branding or extenders, just go ahead and choose accordingly.But with the Curt eight inch extender, we got this to fit pretty well.

Hi, everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer, and today, we have the Yakima StageTwo 2-Bike Platform Rack and we'll take a look at how it fits our 2019 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. So the StageTwo is definitely gonna be your heavy-duty, off-road bike rack, but also, with a really good weight capacity for heavy electric bikes. Now, talking about that though, we do have this on our Jeep Wrangler with a large spare tire, so what I had to do was I had to put a hitch extension, that way, the bike rack would sit further back and I'd be able to put it on that hitch receiver. So if you want to use a bike rack, you may need to get a hitch extension too, we have some options here at etrailer. The downside of those hitch extensions is it reduces your tongue weight capacity, and you're gonna have to get a special anti-rattle for it to be secure. But with all that in mind, let's focus on this StageTwo bike rack.

Hi everyone, John here, and today we're gonna be taking a look at the Kuat Sherpa 2.0 2-bike rack on our 2019 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. This is going to be a great bike rack if you've got road bikes and mountain bikes that you want to get to the trail and have with a friend, I do recommend though keeping in mind that it has a 40-pound weight capacity, so it will be able to handle road bikes, mountain bikes that fit that, but your heavier fat-tire bikes and electric bikes will not be able to be used. Along with having a 47-inch wheel base, so that gives you a good amount of space. Let's take a closer look and see some of the features that this gives you whenever you're trying to get your bikes to the trail. Now, the first feature I want to show you with the Sherpa is the tilt away. This has one of the best tilt-away systems, in my opinion especially for a one bike.

Hey everyone, Charles here at etrailer, and today, we're taking a look at the Saris MHS Modular Bike Rack on a 2017 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. This is your platform-style rack that is gonna be held on by both tires, so it's gonna be great for a lot of different size, shapes, and style frames, especially, those carbon fiber frames where a frame mount might warp or damage it. A couple quick things about this rack with this vehicle, we're not gonna be able to utilize the tilt down feature to access our hatch, even if we took the bike off, the spare wheel is still gonna run into that, and we're not gonna be able to fold this up either, because of the spare tire there. But if you wanna continue learning about this bike rack, we are gonna get into that as well as a recommendation towards the end of the video. So this is gonna be made out of steel and aluminum, it's gonna be lighter weight and durable. It's finished with a black powder coat, making it rust resistant.

This is going to be part number RKY10002.This is a pretty unique bike rack because it has a couple interesting features to it. Much like the other platform style racks out there, this can tilt away from the vehicle with both bikes attached. To do that, they have this handle up at the front here, it's colored blue, you pull that towards you and let the bike rack tilt down like so. And unfortunately, with the wrangler since the door opens out like so, we are going to make contact if we try to do that.But another thing that makes this unique is, that it has the ability to swing out from the vehicle as well with both bikes attached for situations like this. To do that you come to the blue handle here at the base, you turn it to the left to loosen it up.

Part number on it is TH963PRO. Now the Spare Me that's a great job of fitting on our spare tire. We can go anywhere from the 215 tires all the way up to even your 33 12-1/2s.
Hollywood Racks SR2 Spare Tire Bike Racks Review - 2016 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited
Today on our 2016 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, we've got out the Hollywood Racks SR2 and we're test fitting it. Now the SR2 is a spare tire-mounted 2-bike rack. This has been designed to fit on most size tires anywhere from the 215 on up to the 12-1/2"-wide tires. Part number on it is HRSR2. It that's a nice job holding the bike in place. We've got two cradles here that do the job here on the top frame tube, and the incorporated strap will then go around your wheels, keep them from spinning and moving around while you head down the road. Since it does mount to the spare tire, we're still get to have access to get into the cargo area there.

What's up everybody Adam here with etrailer. Today we're going to be taking a look at our hitch mounted bike rack. This is going to be on our 2015 Jeep Wrangler unlimited. So our bike rack is going to be a hanging style bike rack, not going to be great for those carbon fiber bikes, but it is going to get four bikes to, and from your destination. So with this, we want to make sure all the bikes total is going to be less than 120 pounds per bike. And we're going to have four different cradles and they are going to be spaced apart about 5 3/4 of an inch.
