Fit Kit for Thule Podium-Style Roof Rack Feet - 3142
Great Etrailer service but the Thule instructions are horrible! Once I decided to forgo the instructions the install went smoothly. Still not sure if installed correctly though. The rubber "boots" do not conform to the rails and the only thing holding the rack ends to the truck are the four bolts? Nothing attaches to the rail itself or hooks onto it?
I've always trusted Thule bars. I have an old Xsporter on my truck that works really well and it has held up over time. I needed to get a Thule rack for my Jeep Grand Cherokee and found that etrailer had all the parts I needed specified for my model. That was one of my favorite things about the site. No need to search around for the different parts to attached onto the factory rails. Once I received the rack and components, it was really easy to install. I pretty much watched the etrailer videos before hand. I have the older Hullavator 897XT to haul my kayak in. With the WingBar Evo, I found I needed to get a slightly longer bolt (6-1.00 x 30), which I got from the local Ace hardware store, to attached the Hullavator support bracket to the WingBar. Once I got those bolts set up, I was on the water with the kayak the next day. Talked to the customer service a few times and they are great friendly people. And I can understand what they are saying.

Rhino-Rack RVP Roof Rack for Fixed Mounting Points - Vortex Aero Crossbars - Aluminum - Qty 2
Rack is solid, attractive, and well made. The "rack kit" comprises three separate kits; the base kit which includes the brackets and hardware that attach to the oem rails on the vehicle, the feet kit which attach to the crossbars to allow the crossbars to attach to the base rail brackets. Consequently, I found the printed instructions lacking in content and continuity (more on that later), but overall the install is reasonably straight forward and intuitive. As someone with arthritic thumbs I found inserting the mounting screws and attaching the rubber skirts to the base rail brackets, along with insertion of the rubber strips into the crossbars to be somewhat of a challenge. In addition, the feet kit was short on mounting hardware and the hex-head cap screws supplied were not desirable for mounting feet to base brackets so I sourced replacement hardware locally. Back to content and continuity of written instructions. No mention that crossbars were location specific and cut too different lengths and can be distressing if you don't think to check fit at the start of installation. Otherwise, the rack looks good and is solid on the roof. I have not noticed any appreciable increase of wind noise before/after rack install and would not hesitate to recommend to a friend. P.S. Jesse and the folks at etrailer were great to work with/answer questions.

Landing Pad 18 for Yakima SkyLine and Control Towers - Qty 4
The landing pads fit the car just fine, but I did have a lot of trouble getting the crossbars into the pockets of the landing pads and then getting the pins to actually expand outward and lock into the pads, I may have to take a Dremel tool and increase the opening of the landing pad slightly.

Yakima JetStream Crossbars - Aluminum - Black - 50" Long - Qty 2
The only problem I had, was when I watched the video showing how to install the rack, I did not realize that the actual installation process was a lot more complex. For example, the woman who was in the video only showed the installation one rack (I believe itg was the back rack and she gave the width measurement for that one. The front rack was already on the car and the woman neglected to say, "check your manual. The width of the front rack (may be) different than the back. She also did not explain carefully that there were three different screws that needed to be adjusted for a proper fit so the towers were properly adjusted for yoiur specific car. (My car is a 2018 Chevy Volt.) (I also bought Yakima kayak cradles from you guys, which were easy to install.) However, I blame myself for not reading the manual carefully, so when I installed the racks, they did not fit right and one of them actually fell off while I was driving. (Luckily there were kayaks on and no one was hurt. The two towers were damaged but luckily the rack and the kayak cradles were fine. I called etrailers and was told I had to contact Yakima, which I did. I explained to the Yakima customer service rep that I was at fault for trusting the video and not reading the manual carefully and after asking me to send him photos of the damaged towers he sent me two new towers for free, as well as another torque wrench, so I could work with a second person. This time I read the manual carefully and watched the Yakima video many times during the a week before I felt confident enough to try installing the racks again. This time they fit perfectly. I love both the rack and the kayak cradles. I use them to transport my two kayaks down to the Hudson River near my house and have also used them to carry the kayaks to a family camping site 50 miles away, confident they are safe and secure. But please, review the video you put out for the installation of the racks onto a 2017 Chevy Volt, and either correct the shortcomings by doing it over, with an explanation about the adjustment of the widths, and also reading the manual and finding the correct positions for the adjustment screws. (Or delete it and refer your customers to the Yakima installation video. Though it’s more generic than yours, at least the tell the customer to refer to the manual.

Roof racks work pretty well once I figured out how to correctly assemble them. The locks serve no purpose. You can get by them with an allen wrench. Had delivery problems that you addressed well.
Great bars. It's my second pair. Both on jeep Grand cherokee. The pair I put on my 2015 overland didn't whistle at all. This pair I put on my 2020 trailhawk whistled starting at 20mph and changed pitch throughout the acceleration process and while causing. I bought a fairing and the problem is solved. At least for now. I put the fairing on wit the label in. Looks better and Rhino Rack isn't paying me to advertise. The fairing they recommended seemed small but works so go with whatever they recommend.

Yakima RoundBar Crossbars - Steel - Black - 48" Long - Qty 2
I ordered the Yakima roof rack, with the Hullyrollers for the back crossbar and the Mako saddles for the front crossbar to use with my kayak. It arrived just like they told me and I put them on my car the eveningit arrived. Got to finlly use the roof rack on June 22 to go out kayaking and it worked great. Only thing is I did not know about the air reflector piece for the front crossbar. Now I will be ordering it to help with the wind noise.
Great rack, go on fast, easy to install and work well on my VW TDI wagon. Care has to be given and follow the instructions for the install to what type of rails you have. Works great carrying the VW luggage carrier and plan on using it to carry kayaks as well. Just have not decided what kayak rack type to get yet.

Custom DK Fit Kit for 4 Rhino-Rack 2500 Series Roof Rack Legs - Naked Roof
The product is great! I use it for skiing. Once you get the unit installed it is snap to take off and reinstall. The only two issues that I have is on occasion the wind generates a noise as it hits the rack. Usually this happens around 65 mph. The other issue is I did not like the price. I am familiar with what goes into making products. The rack should have not cost more that $500. The company that makes it knows they can get that price because people love their recreation.
Bought this rack for my jeep grand Cherokee seems like it would have been a great product.. however the instructions was so unclear, I soon realized I made a mistake buying this product. I was able to install it though I don’t believe it’s 100% correct. If my kayak falls off I’m gonna cry. If you’re thinking about buying this , DONT !

Custom Fit Kit for Inno XS300, XS350, XS400, XS450, INTR, and INXR Roof Rack Feet
I had been looking a very long time for a roof rack for my 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I wanted round or tubular crossbars, different from the “air foil” style, which were the only kind available from the factory and the many imitators. I finally found etrailer, and these fit the bill perfectly. The attachments fit the rails just like the factory model, and hold the rectangular cross bars firmly. A sturdy and solid product. And even with free shipping they arrived the morning of the second day after I ordered them, in time for the trip I was planning to take with them.
Pros: adjustability, price, sturdy construction, decent appearance. Cons: square tubes = wind noise, must remove rubber ends to mount/dismount, be careful not to strip out the hex screws Overall impression: A good, versatile occasional use rack if you don't want a clamp on.

RCH Legs for Rhino-Rack Crossbars and Pioneer Platforms - Fixed Mounting Points - Qty 4
The small square plates had defective threads. Plus, it was difficult to get the legs lined up with the crossbars. I could not tighten the crossbar bolts in place due to lack of space. I had to remove the crossbars to tighten the assembly.
I bought this kit because I already owned a pair of Thule “square “ crossbars. When in place the rack is super solid. However, it has some issues. It is quite difficult to attach the legs to the base plate on the factory rails. It doesn’t click on and off. Quite annoying. A fiddly two person job. Also the wind noise is very noticeable. Also annoying.

One bar slid out on our first road trip. The "grip" that it slides into can't be adjusted. I am in communication with Yakima about this as Etrailer said that's the route that I would need to go. Very frustrating.
From start to finish, the folks at etrailer -- and I spoke to several people there, so it was a consistent corporate vibe -- were fantastic to deal with. There were delays in getting my product that were on the supplier side and out of etrailer's control, yet etrailer folks kept me up to date and also worked on a customized solution. My goal was to be able to carry my surfboard on the roof of our 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe to the beach more than 3 hours away. But the particular model we had had no existing racks, no recessed areas, nothing to fix racks to. Not even the dealer had a solution. I was sh*t out of luck. But etrailer hooked me up. The racks did take me a while to put on, but most of that time was fine tuning to reduce “hum” while driving. I’m very happy with them. Thanks to etrailer, I have gone surfing and can go surfing whenever I'd like to.

Yakima JetStream Crossbars - Aluminum - Silver - 50" Long - Qty 2
The 50” jetstream cross bars were perfect for my 2019 Ford Ranger with my ARE cap. They are paired with the Yakima Skyline towers and appropriate landing pads (protip: call etrailer when you order to ensure you have the correct setup;) These cross bars are SILENT on my cap. Zero wind noise. My daughter and I installed them on a Friday (I do recommend watching etrailer’s installation video in addition to the paper instructions) and left for a 700 mile weekend road trip the next day to pick up a kayak, paddle with friends downstate then drop her off at summer camp. Even with empty Yakima Jaylows on top, no wind noise. Even with a boat in the Jaylows, no wind noise. These are the sweetest rack’s I’ve had. Ordered a full (naked) roof rack package with snowboard/ski attachment. Items arrived as described. Set-up was simple and flawless. Instructions are fairly clear & simple. A paper tape measure is included. No issues with fitment.Purchased the fairing to reduce wind noise and it works perfect! No excessive wind noise whatsoever -- can open sunroof comfortably if I wanted to. Have not yet put my snowboards inthe attachment yet, but do not foresee any issues. Roof rack is on a 2015 Infiniti Q40 (G37 sedan 2009-2015).

How to Install the Yakima BaseLine Roof Rack Kit - 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Hey, everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer. Today we have the Yakima Roof Rack System here on the 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Now this specific system is designed for the Grand Cherokee that has the matte flush rails, so with this, you are able to carry around different cargo, baskets, kayaks, and all those fun accessories. So we'll take a look at how this fits this vehicle, and I'll also show you how to get it installed. So there's a bunch of different types of rails on the Grand Cherokee, so I was very specific about the matte black ones just because while these are technically flush rails, you can't really clamp much to it. So for that reason, Yakima found that the best fit for a roof rack is a BaseLine tower system, one that has pads that contour to the curves of your roof, as well as hooks that fit perfectly into the door area of your Grand Cherokee.

Does it Fit? Testing the Yakima RidgeLine Roof Rack for Flush Rails on a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee, we're going to be test fitting the Yakima JetStream Roof Rack System, consisting of part numbers Y00425, these are the JetStream crossbars 50" long, part number Y00148, these are the SkyLine towers for the Yakima crossbars specifically for fixed mounting points and finally, part number Y00244 and this is the landing pad for the Jeep Grand Cherokee. The Yakima JetStream Roof Rack System is great for carrying a wide variety of accessories on your roof while freeing up space inside your vehicle. This can carry anything from bike racks to cargo baskets to cargo boxes. The bars do have an aerodynamic shape to them and that coupled with the rubber strip up at the top will cut down the wind noise and drag while you drive. Also, when we remove the end cap, you can see that it can be used with T-Track accessories.What makes this different from the other roof rack models out there is you would have to remove the rubber strip up at the top to utilize the T-Track accessories. With this, you simply push the center strip down and then slide them in place.
Rhino-Rack RSP Roof Rack Installation - 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Speaker 1: Today in this 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee, we're going to be test fitting the Rhino-Rack RSP Roof Rack system for flush factory side rails, part number RSP27. The Rhino-Rack RSP Roof Rack is great for carrying a wide variety of accessories on your roof, while freeing up space inside your vehicle. Plus it has the added bonus of looking like it's factory installed once it is installed. This can carry anything from bike racks to cargo baskets to cargo boxes, although you are limited with space as to how many things you can load up, since it's cut off at this point here.Now, if you wanted a bar that goes further past that, where you can fit multiple bike racks, per se, then you would have to upgrade to a different style of roof system from Rhino-Rack. This comes as one kit and has everything that you see here: the bars, the legs, and the fit kit that goes inside the flush-mounted side rails. It bolts into place and uses fixed mounts, so you don't have to worry about measuring out from center to center to make sure everything is evened.One thing I would like to note about the installation process is sometimes these can stick out a little bit further when you're initially installing them, so you may have to apply a little bit of pressure to tighten down the bolt in the center here to hold it in place.

We'll also be using part number THKIT3142, and this is the fit kit for the Jeep Grand Cherokee.The Thule AeroEdge roof rack system is great for carrying a wide variety of accessories on your roof, while freeing up space inside your vehicle, while also giving it that factory-style look like you see here.The bars themselves do have an aerodynamic shape to them, and that, coupled with the rubber strip up at the top is gonna cut down wind noise and drag while you drive. Once we remove our end cap here, you can see at the top we can use T-Track accessories with this roof rack system. However, because of how the end caps are, you do lose a little bit of that extra space you may have when you use the longer bars.

Thule Roof Rack Review - 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Speaker 1: Today on our 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee we're going to be test fitting the Thule Aeroblade Edge roof rack system consisting of part numbers TH7602-TH7602. These are the Aeroblade Edge load bars and these also come in black as part number TH602B-TH7602B and to hold them into place on the Jeep Grand Cherokee you'll be using the fit kit part number THKIT3142. The Thule Aeroblade Edge roof rack system is great for carrying a wide variety of accessories on your roof such as bike racks, cargo baskets or cargo boxes. It does have a nice factory style look to it once they're installed because of the flush mount design of it and it does have this rubber strip up at the top here.That means you can utilize T-track accessories with this once it's installed. To put those in place you simply remove the end cap, remove the strip, slide them into place and then cut the strip the length around it. With this removed you can see how it attaches to the roof.

These also come in silver. Underneath that we have the SkyLine Tower System to hold everything in place as a fixed mount, and that's going to be part number Y00148. Finally, to hold it in place on to our fixed mounts, we have the Landing Pad System here, and that's going to be Y00244. That does come in a quantity of four.This is a great roof rack system that can carry a wide variety of accessories ranging from bike racks, to cargo baskets, to cargo boxes. The bars themselves have this nice aerodynamic shape to it.
