Best Ford F-350 Super Duty Tire Chains

I've used Titan cam style v bar chains in the past and am purchasing the again. That's probably enough said about the product. I was helped by both Kimberly O and Hannah N at Etrailer in sizing and selection. I had a heck of a time trying to get chains. No where locally, had the size I needed so I had to go online. etrailer.com was actually quick and easy to use. Found the ones I needed and got them ordered. It said it wasn't going to be delivered till the 27 or 28th... they came in on the 24th! Because of the fast delivery I was able to use them today and boy, did I need them! Snow, slippery, the road had kind of a step climb up to the job. Had a couple spots where I had to back up and take a different approach. Telling you, these chains were great! Thanks again for the quick delivery!

These are the best chains, hands down. I live off grid in an area where people constantly lose their vehicles or get them stuck. I need these half of the year and I've never been stuck, even with multiple feet of snow and ice. For most people I don't think you'll ever need replacement parts but for people like me they're easy to repair, diagnose, tighten etc. It's worth noting that you need some grip strength to tighten the cams, I haven't had issues but if you're a woman I'd recommend the "T" shape cam tightener etrailer sells so you can torque it better. It's important to note that these work great with even super knobby tires, so don't shy away if you need this style of chain. I can't recommend these enough, if you're a road traveler this is not the product for you but if you're on the farm, using this for a plow truck on an icy dirt road, going up snowy hills, going offroad in the snow, are camping in snowy wilderness etc this is for you. Just make sure you don't spin, because you can easily snap cross bars this way. etrailer is fantastic, as an aside and has been super helpful.

I could never use the chains. One dual side had cams missing on one side and obviously would not work. When I bought them, I just place them in my carry crates and discovered they would fit.... During a snowstorm. Serious bummer.

No snow yet but the practice installation went great! So simple my 6 year-old helped make sure I was following the instructions properly. Time will tell if I need them and how they work in the upcoming North Idaho snow plowing season. Fit great on my 275/70R18 tires. I appreciate the carrying case they came with, also!

the chains that Gwendolyn sent me fit perfectly. And, they arrived in time to take them on a 2,900mile trip. As it turned out, I didn't have to use them, as the weather let up, and got through the Rockies and the Cascades with no need for chains. Better to have them and not use them, than need them and not have them.

I have a Ford dually with a Salt Dogg spreader. During the last two snow storms (5/8 inches) in northwest NJ, I got stuck on small hills in four wheel drive. I looked on line and liked the etrailer website. i called to clarify a question on size (17 inch rims) and spoke to Adam. He was very helpful and knowledgeable--I ordered directly on the phone which was quick and easy (none of the typical on line ordering BS). The order came in several days and was packed well considering it weighed 65 lbs--the box was not damaged/dented in anyway (three cheers for UPS--I avoid FEDEX at all costs). I haven't used them yet, but they look heavy duty and well make. i'll be back after they are used.

Other than test fitting, I have not used in snowy road conditions yet. State law requires me to have snow chains due to my truck's weight.

etrailer delivered these quickly, as always. The chains themselves are pretty good, but not perfect. The chains look nice when new, but the finish wore off immediately on the first use, which led to rust immediately. Maybe that's expected? The storage bag is fine for shipping, but not great for storing, so have a plan for that. My biggest issue is that the cam tightening wrench that came with the chains is really soft metal and twisted badly on the first install (not much pressure IMO). I do't trust it now as it will likely break...it's twisted bad. I also ordered the TCTH3 wrench with the chains as it was listed as an accessory. The flat doesn't fit into the cams, it's too big. Not good to figure this out in the field. Luckily I had two sets of chains so I was able to use the wrench from the other set to remove the chains. To summarize, the chains themselves work fine as chains, just wish they had a better finish. The cam wrench is terrible...not sure what to do about that yet. The accessory wrench doesn't fit the cams.

I have used the chains twice in deep snow and they held up and worked well.

Shipping was extremely fast , received my order in 2 days . Chains are high quality and should last a long time. Bought these for all 4 tires of my ‘01 Ford F-350 , tires are BFG All Terrains Lt285-75-R16. They fit perfectly, will probably be cutting 2 links off of the backside where the two ends hook together. The chains came.2 per sack with a cam tightening tool in each sack. I modified the tool to make it easier to use when your hands are frozen.

I bought the TC2228CAM tire chains because etrailer has a size chart which actually includes the tire size I bought for, but I was really happy and surprised to see how well they are constructed. I haven't installed them yet but feel confident they will work just fine. 2001 4runner Tire: 265/70r/16

We just finished two years of full-time travel around the US. I bought two sets of chains and they fit snuggly, as expected, on my LT 275/65 R18 tires. I also bought two types of chain binders to keep them tight and positioned correctly in different conditions. So, that's 4 chain & spring binders AND 4 rubber binders ... just in case. I mounted them all to test the fit and practice my skills and drove 4 mi. on a dirt road. All went well. As we zig zag around the US it's a smart move to carry these chains and binders with us. Many states in the west have highways and roads that mandate use of chains. I'm glad I didn't need to use them last year but I'm confident we're ready if need be. Have used tire chains for over 50 years. Took a chance on buying these for a new SUV despite misgivings over the large range of tires these are supposed to work with. Both as experienced user and retired design engineer, the range of tire sizes didn't make sense. Do they "fit". i.e. can they be installed, yes. Will they stay in place with use of proper placement and tensioners? Not above 10 mph. Writing these off as a bad investment and will design and build a set of custom chains that work.

I’ve used them probably 4-5 times in a year. Got me through 18” of wet spring snow in my truck and took a beating, held up great. I love the turnbuckle mechanism.

These arrived, and I put them on in the garage to test fit, and they appear to be perfect. I had to buy two sets, to cover front and rear tires. My tires are 33x12.50x15, and at some point I plan to move up to 35x12.50x15 and understand these will cover those tires too. So I expect to be covered in extreme ice conditions. Very easy to install at home in the garage. I did also purchase the orange chain tensioner's, and they work nicely too. But I really may not need them, as I was able to get these very snug by using 3rd and 4th tightening links. I watched the video that explains how to stack the loose links so they don't flop around too much. etrailer was a pleasure to work with, products arrived quickly.

Received within 3 days of order! I have to get up an unplowed road with a big hill. It`s now a sheet of ice. I can come to a complete stop on steepest part, and then just give it some gas, and all the way up. Works excellent! The unique 6 Bungie cord works great.

Needed all four tires chained up, but we can reliably plow our north-facing hill and the rest of the drive.

I like the chains very much. Excellent design. Easy to install and with the cam tighteners they didn’t loosen up. I recently delivered lumber on an ice covered dirt road (very steep hill!) and never spun a wheel.

I have used chains in the past without tightening cams and aways struggled with getting the chain tight enough. These chains with the cams are a joy to use. The went on easily and tightened up with out a problem. I used these chains with all weather tires and had no difficulties while plowing 18 inches of heavy wet snow. Prior to using the chains I was getting stuck in the same snow. We'll worth the money and etrailer provided great service.

I ordered 2 sets (4 chains total) of these tire chains for my V10 F250, which I use to plow a private dirt driveway on the north side of a mountain in rural Pennsylvania. It's two miles (actual odometer reading) uphill to the paved road from my house. Most years, along about February, the road ices up (because no sun and midatlantic sleet issues) and plowing becomes quite challenging. I figured getting tire chains might help the traction-on-ice problem. I plow the road between 10 and 15 mph, with the truck in 4wd. Since buying the chains I have run the truck up and back the road approximately twenty times with the chains on, plowing from 4 to 8 inches of snow, conducting rollbacks of shoulder, chopping up slush, etc. I have also used the truck (with chains) to pull out two other stuck vehicles that had run into ditches. At this point I feel like I can review the product because I've used 'em enough to have an opinion. 1. These tire chains add a lot of traction on ice. A lot. Enough to plow with and enough to pull out stuck vehicles while the "tow" vehicle is sitting on ice. 2. The chains look fine and are undamaged at this juncture. Since I've used them consistently with how I expect them to be used and they are fine, I'm happy with quality at this point. 3. Maybe I will improve with practice, but it's about thirty minutes of twinking around to get these straightened out, on the truck, tightened up, bungee'd, etc. in a way that I feel OK about driving with them. (That's why 4 stars instead of 5.) Once they're on, they seem to stay put fairly effectively. I do not drive on paved roads with these chains nor do I drive faster than (max) 20 mph so I can't speak to how they might do under those circumstances. I use them for additional traction for my plow truck while plowing my iced-up dirt road... and for that, they work as advertised.

These tire chains for my 2017 GMC 2500 (20” wheels) perfectly. They did great in the snow and allowed me to pull an enclosed trailer to my cabin, which I couldn’t have done without these chains on my truck. Thanks etrailer for the fitment video specific to my truck! Very helpful

E trailer is 5 stars. Order was delivered on time. No issues with the product. I contacted Will, CSR while installing the snow chains for the first time. He answered my questions and even verified the answer with the manufacturer. As far as the snow chains, they look well constructed. I have not used them in actual snow conditions as of this writing.

Ordered tire chains Friday 5pm, just received them today (Monday)4pm. Incredibly fast delivery. The chains are massive. Will check the fit tomorrow.

I ordered 2 sets of these chains for a road trip in our Ram 4x4. They arrived on-time, the fit was perfect on LT 285/60 R20. They look great, I haven't used them as of yet but I'll know how good they work in a couple of days.
