I had to update the tuner two times in order to get the tunes for my truck once I got the tune installed it don’t change my shift points in the transmission my first chip I got back in 2000 changed my shift points as well up the horse power .you would think we’d have better technology in 2021. I had called the tech line about four times and all the techs I talked to were nice and helpful.

Very buggy the unit would have constant crashes just with going through the menus. NEVER TRUSTED IT to actually make a change to my truck.

It works

Simple to use with easy menus and update process via your computer. Don't expect a dramatic power boost with gas engine. I have noticed much improved mid range throttle response, especially at higher elevations. My 2500 HD no longer has to downshift 2 gears to maintain or increase speed on 5 to 6% grades in winding turns in the 45 to 55 mph speed range. Wide open throttle passes at higher speeds seem to be a bit quicker. To soon to form any opinion on fuel mileage.

The Edge CS2 won't pull the PID list for my van, so I just get to see the standard PIDs/guages and cannot update to additional PIDs. Not what I was hoping for but it's good with those standard PIDs. Not sure it's worth the price for MPH, Temp, Voltage, and RPMs.

I wanted CS2 to get eyes on my trans temp in my 1997 Ford Powerstroke XLT when I am hauling my camper. When the product arrived (a couple of days before I was expecting) I hooked it up to my computer per the instructions. One easy to follow download and twenty minutes later it was ready to go into the truck. I went out and plug it in (note: the OBDII port on my truck had a black cover on it and was located on the passenger side of the transmission hump under the dash) it would not power up. Hit the trouble shooting guide and it said check the cigarette lighter fuse. Bingo that was the culprit. For reference on my truck it is the #16 fuse which is the fuse in the upper most right hand corner of the fuse box under the steering wheel. So far I have been happy with the product. I have eyes on the trans tempt and new goal to see my truck produce 20lbs of boost (note the CS2 insight is only a monitor and will not help me get closer to this goal but it will let me see it when it happens). I was also pleasantly surprised with how stout the window mount was for the unit. It solid and holds the unit steady allowing you toggle threw the menus with one hand.

The service of e-trailer has been great, and once programmed the device seems to be good (I am yet to put many miles on the truck to see if it does as advertised). The problem with the device is the upgrade software. It took me more than 8 hours to finally get the device upgraded. The design of the software leaves a lot to be desired and the device kept timing out during the upgrade process that rendered the device useless and required a complete restart of the upgrade process. If you buy the device and decide to upgrade it as suggested then you need to have high speed internet, turn off all virus and firewall protection, and be patient because the software does not respond quickly and sucks up all of the computer resources so don't do anything else during the upgrade process. This is no fault with etrailer who were better than responsive in getting the order out and delivered.

If I would have known that when I wanted performance and or heavy towing I was going to have to use 91 octane, I might not have purchased the product..... I can't decide if its worth the extra cost of 91 octane gas.....

Just got programmer installed with dash pod, I haven't driven for any amount of time with the programmer running, but the programmer was easy to set up. It has a ton of functions to customize programming, I'm looking forward to using for towing 33 ft fifth wheel. The installation was fairly easy on an 03 GMC Sierra.

It works! Seems rather flimsy. To go from screen to screen is pretty complicated. (Although I'm not the most techno Savey person either!) But in the end it did improve my mileage by a solid 3mpg! So that makes it worth having! I have it on an 07 chevy Duramax used for towing, for that it does a good job!
