Thule Passage Trunk Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - Hanging Style
I purchased a Thule Passage 2 bike rack based on my prior experience with the brand and I was NOT disappointed. The rack was easy to assemble and install and fit my Subaru Outback like a glove. When shopping for this rack, I ultimately selected a lightly used item offered on the product page and I was pleased when the rack arrived. The Thule rack was as good as new and the price point was great. Without question, I would definitely look to that option in the future. I have purchase from Etrailer.com in the past and I continue to be impressed with the level of service, the variety of merchandise and with their communication. I will not hesitate to be a return customer.
Well, I haven't used it yet, and I'm concerned that it has the potential to do damage to my car. I'm only keeping this bicycle rack because it's a Thule and it is listed as an appropriate rack for my car. Photos always show the lower arm of this rack seated on the bumper of the car but the fit for a Subaru Outback is that the lower arm rests at the bottom of the license plate "well." My concern is that with 2 bicycles on this rack, won't it put a dent in the metal????

Swagman XTC2 Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Frame Mount
The Swagman XTC 2 bike platform carrier was mounted on a 2010 Subaru Outback equipped with a 2" receiver. I will also use the bike carrier on a 2008 Saturn Vue. Ordering from etrailer was straight forward, shipping was fast with continuous texts from etrailer as to shipping status. Impressive. The bike rack works perfect for my wife's extended wheel base-pedal forward Townie bike and my Giant Sequoia trail bike. Bike positioning is important, but not difficult. Retaining hooks ratchet into place easily, and rubber straps secure the wheels. The anti-rattle receiver mount with threaded locking hitch pin works well. No slop there. The only concern we have is the flexing of the receiver bar. With no bikes on board and the carrier arms in the vertical positing, you can watch the minor 'dancing' of the vertical members. Put 2 bikes on the carrier and you can see a little more wobble of the bikes. I suspect the receiver arm of the carrier needs to be sturdier to eliminate this movement. When you read the warranty, you will notice Swagman will void the warranty if the bikes are carried on a 5th wheel trailer or on a vehicle that is taken off road. That tells me they know the receiver arm needs beefing up. Oh well, it works for my interstate transport. I would recommend this carrier for normal day to day transport of 2 bikes.
Delivery from etrailer was super fast and the price was very competetive. First the PROS: Basic assembly of this carrier was easy and quick. It does carry both our bikes within the width of the car (barely). The carrier is fairly light and attaches easily to the receiver. Mounting the bikes is easy. The latch release can be locked with small padlock, but I would lock both. The squared frame on my hybrid bike can be securely latched down with no marking. Now the CONS: Jiggly! My old Reese carrier was rock solid but this one really sways alot. The wheel carriers are not welded correctly and do not allow folding up to the latch point. Teeth on the hold down bar could be deeper. Getting our 2 bikes to sit within vehicle width took alot of initial finagling. Reflective surfaces were limited so i added my own tape for safety. Purchase of a bike post quick clamp was necessary to fit the 2 bikes on the carrier. And did i say jiggly! Oh, yeah. I don't know how long the rubber wheel straps or the hold down teeth will hold up. I can live with it not folding up as i use the rubber stap to grab the other side wheel hoop. ( i did call e-trailer support about this issue, CSR asked politely if i put it together correctly. Yes, i’m an engineer of 37 years senority). But the jiggling about really bothers me, and evidently, drivers behind as they do not tailgate anymore. So the jury is still out on the value of this product.

Swagman XC2 Bike Rack for 2 bikes - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Frame Mount
Just completed my installation of the Swagman bike rack, took my daughter’s and my bike to the park and had a great time. Very easy to use.
I recently ordered from Etrailer a two bicycle hitch rack for our 2017 Subaru Outback. The bike rack arrived promptly. The quality of the mount and ease of assembly exceeded my expectations and can also be easily adapted to our 2007 Yukon. I would like to also thank David the Customer Service Representative who answered my question about the unit during the ordering process. Great job Etrailer!

Swagman Upright Bike Rack for 1 Bike - Roof Rack Crossbars - Frame Mount
Great product. Worked great for taking the boys bike down to the beach. Also great around town going to the bike trail.
Great product, but difficult to managge with just one person loading and unloading the bikes. I have a subaru outback 2015, and it was a bit of a hastle to get my heavier mt bike loaded by myself, but I'm also only 5'3

Thule Passage 3 Bike Carrier - Trunk Mount
Great product, high quality, fits our Outback perfectly. Bike fits the rack great. Painless ordering with etrailer and prompt delivery. Only concern was that the shipper banged up the box pretty hard, but the bike rack was not damaged.
It's very good overall, but if you take it on a longer trip or on bumpier roads, expect to make some stops to tighten the straps. It fits mine and my wife's bikes fine, but we have yet to find a way to fit my daughter's 20" bike on here, even using the adapter bar (sold separately). We're using it on an Outback wagon because we don't have a trailer hitch. When we trade this in for a newer model we will be getting a trailer hitch and springing for one of the bike racks that will fit with it.

Swagman Chinook Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Frame Mount
Works for my fat tire bike. Once it's set up, it's easy to install and remove. I had to cut out some of the plastic cladding on the underside of my bumper on my 2014 Subaru Outback. Good value. I've had no issues.
Used our Swagman Chinook 2 bike platform for the first time today. My wife and I really like it. Drove about 60 miles to a rail trail at a state park. Easy to load and unload, travels well on the highway and secondary roads. Love the ability to tilt the rack with the bikes on for easy access to the rear door of our Subaru Outback. It appears to be a very well made carrier. It does weigh almost 50 lbs, and that is our only complaint.

Swagman XTC4 Bike Rack for 4 Bikes - 2" Hitches - Frame Mount
Rack is very sturdy and heavy duty. Instructions were terrible. Locking hitch pin would not thread correctly and ended up damaging it. Thankfully the threads on rack were fine and I was able to use the non-locking threaded pin. Would like a replacement locking pin ASAP
For the price, it's a good-quality, sturdy bike rack. I have used it about 5-7 times with no issues. I only used it for one adult and two kids' bikes, but I am sure it can handle four bikes as advertised. It's great that the rack folds upwards when it's not required.

Yakima ForkLift Roof Mounted Bike Carrier - Fork Mount
Once I figured out that my factory crossbars *could be moved* everything worked (2009 Subaru Outback). If you happen to have fixed position crossbars, and your bike's wheelbase just happens to place the rear wheel exactly in the middle of the rear clamp, then it won't work (even if you get the free fix). The rear tire ratcheting tie down (wheel tray) can't be placed suitably close to the rear wheel for buckling. Also, the clamps don't *exactly* match the shape of my crossbars, so the gripping force is not spread out. I need a notch between the upper and middle notches, or a rubbery, compressible surface.
The clamps fit factory oval cross bars. No adapters necessary. Setup on my 04 Outback took 20 minutes.

Yakima HoldUp Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 2" Hitches - Wheel Mount
The bike rack is awesome, well built and easy to assemble. The only issue that i have is that the product description says that these are suppose to have ratcheting straps to secure the tires and mine most definitely DOES NOT. Its not a big deal but still.
Quality product. Very easy to assemble and use...had it out of the box, assembled and loaded with bikes in less than 30 minutes!

Kuat NV 2.0 Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 2" Hitches - Wheel Mount - Gunmetal Gray
I have a great rack! (actually my wife does) I have 5 or 6 friends that use this rack and grew weary of throwing my bike on top of the Outback. Additionally my wife has become interested in venturing off on her own and cannot put a bike on top her outback. etrailer shipped promptly, and the product arrived in good shape, note: there were a few spots where the parts had jostled around in the box slightly and you could see some marring of the surface. This polished right out with a microfiber towel and mothers. There are a few minor nicks (I mean really minor) on the rack;but, they were there before being put in the factory packaging. Not enough to whine about just know the finish is great just not perfect. Speaking of the finish the color matches my Outback perfectly, it actually looks like an OEM Subaru thing. Fit is good using the Hidden/Drawtite hitch clearing the hatch while tilted back easily even with 800mm bars. The locking Hitch pin that comes with the rack is 1/2" diameter instead of the normal 5/8", fortunately the hitch mentioned above has a smaller 1/2" about 12mm aft of the 5/8" hole. The hole in the rack is 5/8" but do to the snugging system on the Küat the mismatch I'd of no consequence. Assembly is easy and someone with good mechanical aptitude should be able to do it in less than 10, an extra set of hands would be nice but aren't required. I built mine on an elevated bench and it was quick and super easy, admittedly I used power tools because I have them. I'm looking forward to the convenience of a tray.
I received the rack very quickly from eTrailer.com, faster than expected, which is always nice. Of course UPS beat the tar out of the box, but the rack was packed well and survived the abuse without a scratch. Assembly was quick and easy, 4 main bolts and 1 for the tilt release lever, that was it. This rack is built like a tank, I'm impressed with the construction and finish. Test fit my road bike (Cannondale Synapse Carbon) and wife's MTB (Cannondale Foray) in just a few minutes. Bikes fit well and felt very solid. Overall I'm a very happy camper and would highly recommend the rack and eTrailer.com.

Swagman Fork Down Roof Mounted Bike Carrier - Fork Mount
Goes together quickly, appears that it will fit my needs in terms of being cross-compatible on a variety of vehicles. Fit on a Subaru Outback factory crossbar and transported bike locally with no issues when I got it out to set up and test (not quite warm enough to ride much yet where I live). Instructions are not super, but the assembly is pretty straightforward so that is not a problem. At the price point, if this rack indeed holds up to swapping onto multiple vehicles and lasts me a few years, I'll be thrilled with the purchase.
The rack was pretty much as should be expected at this price point. It works, but not great quality. For one, the paint easily chips off. Another, the rails are a bit flimsy and twist when you tighten the rear wheel firmly. The directions don't explain a number of small items (which make for a better installation) such as make sure the lever is positioned on the outside for easier installation of the bike, why is there one different bolt, whether the bikes should be mounted forward, backward or it doesn't matter, the rails have a right (and less right) way of going together, the strap for the rear tire "will" fall off of the rack if you forget to reinsert it after taking the bike off of the car. Despite these shortcomings, the rack works well at an inexpensive price...I think a pretty good value

RockyMounts MonoRail Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 2" Hitches - Wheel Mount
The rack came damaged and could not be assemble without first repairing the damage. The mounting bracket for one of the cross arms was bent (see photo) which prevented the cross arm from being installed. The bend had to be hammer out straight before the cross arm could be installed, which also cause the area of repair to need repainting. Otherwise, the rack appears to be functional and well built. The website specs for the rack list its weight as 38 pounds, but the actual weight is 45 pounds.
I bought this rack for transporting my full suspension mountain bike and gravel bike on the back of my 2016 subaru outback. The rack itself so far is great - I spent a while researching different systems, and the Rocky Mounts MonoRail had the best value for features of all racks I looked at. The tilt feature is great, and the loading/offloading is easy. The integrated locks for the rack and your bikes are a great feature, although the cable would not stop a determined thief with tools. Bikes are relatively stable in the cradles on highways, minimal movement on gravel roads. One complaint is that the entire rack is not very snug in the 2" hitch installed on my vehicle. There is a noticeable bob and sway on the entire loaded unit on bumpy roads. Ideally, I would add shims. Finally, this unit does block ~60% of my backup camera, which just means you have to be careful and use the old school method of turning around to look before backing up.
Install: Yakima RidgeBack Bike Rack for 4 Bikes on a 2022 Subaru Outback Wagon
Hey everybody, Ryan here at etrailer. Today on our 2022, Subaru Outback Wagon, we're gonna be checking out the Yakima RidgeBack hitch-mounted bike rack. So, first impressions of the rack, on our Outback here, I think it looks right at home. It looks like something a Subaru would have on it. And this is gonna be a great way to carry around a lot of bikes. So this particular rack can hold up to a total of four bikes.
How to Set Up Your Malone Pilot Roof Mounted Bike Rack on a 2022 Subaru Outback Wagon
Hey everyone, Charles here at etrailer, and today we're taking a look at the Malone Pilot roof mounted bike rack on a 2022 Subaru Outback wagon Wilderness. This is gonna be a great way of transporting your bicycle especially if you don't have a hitch or anything like that. It is a front wheel mount, which I like because I don't have to worry about damaging a carbon frame style bike or having to worry about a custom paint or any of the odd shaped style frames. We're gonna have three attachment points holding the bike on the rack, a strap for each tire, and then the front wheel mount. Has a weight capacity of 33 pounds, just make sure to not exceed that. And the cradles do adjust left and right to accommodate those different wheel base sizes.
Setting up the Inno Tire Hold II Roof Bike Rack on your 2022 Subaru Outback Wagon
Hey everyone, Charles here at the etrailer and today we're taking a look at the INNO Tire Hold Roof-Mounted Bike Rack on a 2022 Subaru Outback Wagon Wilderness. So this is gonna be a dual tire-mounted bike rack which is gonna be great especially for those carbon frame style bikes, custom paint or odd shape style bike frames, because you're being held on by the tires. It's gonna be made out of aluminum and finished with a black powder coat, making it durable and rust resistant as well. To take the bike on and off is really simple compared to a lot of the other roof bike racks that I've worked on. So your main contact points are just these two wheel mounts and keeping a hand on the bike we can, after we unlock it, lift up on this latch and that is going to loosen up the back tire hole, but make sure you have a good grip because right now your bike is free and all we have to do is wheel it behind and grab it up and take it off the bike. To put it on, we're gonna start with the front wheel and then all we have to do is lift this up just a little bit, lock that into place and now all we have to do is, roll it forward until it stops clicking.
How to Install the Swagman Chinook Bike Rack for 2 Bikes on a 2022 Subaru Outback Wagon
Hey everybody, how's it going, Today we're gonna be going over the Swagman Chinook two bike rack here on our 2022 Subaru Outback. So there's two main types of bike racks. We have the hanging style and we have the platform style. So these are both great, each in their own respective. Now the hanging style racks are typically a little bit lighter so they're easier to get on and off the vehicle and they're typically more cost effective. Whereas the platform bike racks where these really shine is they're gonna be much easier to load your bikes onto because you only have to lift them up a few feet in the air, whereas opposed to the hanging style racks you have to lift them up and over those arms, and sort of steady it all the way back onto the cradle.

What's up everybody, it's AJ with etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna be checking out the RockyMounts MonoRail two-bike platform rack on our 2022 Subaru Outback wagon. Now, we're looking at a platform-style bike rack, so that means the bike sits on a platform like this. It's not a hanging-style. That's where the bike would hang by two arms, which means this is, it opens it up for a bunch of different bikes. Because the way it's holding on here, is this hook comes down on the tire, holding the bike into place, so there's gonna be no frame contact.

What's up everybody, it's AJ with etrailer.com. Today we're be checking out the Swagman XC2 in our 2022 Subaru Outback. It's gonna be a platform style bike rack. It's gonna hold the bike right here by the frame. So you have the frame hook coming down here. Now, the Hitching Post Pro is what's known as a hanging style bike rack, meaning we're gonna be carrying the bikes by the top tube here, compared to a platform style bike rack. Now just a quick, simple comparison between hanging and platform style bike racks: hanging style bike racks are typically a little bit lighter, whereas platform bike racks, a little bit more bulky, and they're heavier to move. Platform, however, allow you to carry heavier bikes, whereas the hanging style, which we have here, is usually limited to about 35lbs.
