Reese 60x24 Hitch Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches - 500 lbs Capacity - Glossy Black
My wife and I spend the winters in southern GA and needed a cargo carrier as we make our move between TN and GA. Everything we pack will fit into the car with ease, but we're a tad cramped. When I say we, I mean our dog and two cats. :) Having the cargo carrier will allow us to pack our clothes, etc. outside the car while everyone has more room inside the car. On this particular hitch (Curt Class III), I can haul 300lbs back there. The three containers you see in the pics will probably be full, but not weigh anywhere near 300lbs total. This will definitely make our travel more comfortable. It also alleviated the need for a larger car where the bigger volume of cargo space would only get used a couple of times per year. Smaller car for a daily drive equals less gas. The cargo carrier is a bit on the cumbersome side so my wife helps me get it connected. It's heavy duty and expect it to last many years.
I haven't actually used the hitch carrier yet, but I can say that the ordering and shipping process went very smoothly and was easy. Also the carrier is very easy to assemble and took maybe 15 minutes tops.

19x60 Curt Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches - Aluminum - Folding - 500 lbs
Performed as expected. Good quality, allows bulky items to be carried outside. Good construction.
I use this on my 2022 F250, when hauling my cab over. I was able to remove the folding part and attach it straight to my hitch to get it closer to the back of the truck. It’s light weight, decently sturdy, and easy to assemble.

17x46 Curt Cargo Carrier for 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Steel - 500 lbs
Once it was together, I really liked it. It wasn’t that easy to put together and it required metric tools which I had to search for. It worked well and it was very useful.
Great little rack that does it's job. 4/5 due to two factors, one being its maximum 150lbs rating & two for being positioned DIRECTLY behind the stock exhaust on the 2017 Fiesta ST. We used this to driving across the country (Seattle, WA > Norfolk, VA) and it worked great, after wrapping our suitcase that was directly behind the exhaust in some heat resistant insulation. It did Melt the canvas tarp slightly but after the insulation, the suitcase was fine. Definitely was a lifesaver for space, with three adults, a chihuahua and 17lb cat being in the car for 45 hours, over the span of 5 days.

I love this basket! Once I centered on cross braces, it was easy to leave the connectors in same spot. Also, low enough profile to drive in and out my garage. We have a screen door so that made it a shorter height than traditional garage door.

This was a great addition to my wife’s 2019 RAV4, lunar rock color. It really fits vehicle nice. Have had many good compliments on it and it is extremely functional.
Well done Yakima and etrailer. Great product and great service. The product is well made (in Taiwan....not China) and the parts and instruction video made it relatively" easy to install. Two people helps to install it more readily. The wind diffuser in the front greatly reduces wind noise. All in all very happy and glad I bought through etrailer. Service was excellent and delivery prompt.

These are very challenging to work with when it comes to mounting them to vehicle roof rails and adjusting length of bar to it's equal on both sides. Once they're finally installed they look steong and astethetically appealing. Haven't tested them out with Curt roof rack yet

Stromberg Carlson 60x23 Hitch Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches - 500 lbs Capacity - Matte Black
Received everything in a timely manner - 2 days. My order included the cargo carrier, a cargo bag, and a Curt anti-rattle kit. Just a note for newbies like me. The shank is the part of the accessory that is inserted into the receiver (the part that is attached to the vehicle). The Curt anti-rattle kit does not fit properly with this cargo carrier. The instructions for the anti-rattle kit indicates that it will fit in the shank of all Curt products... I have a Curt receiver... I rigged the anti-rattle kit to work with this cargo carrier but it's a bit of a pain. The cargo carrier box appeared to have been opened previously. The box was torn open already. I found the instructions and determined that all the parts were there so no harm no foul. Easy-to-follow assembly instructions but having a friend to help would have sped things up a lot. Easily attaches to the receiver and bingo. All done. Light weight. I can carry it and mount it to the vehicle by myself with ease. I will be buying some reflective tape to put along the back of it. I want it to be more visible to anyone following - especially in the dark.
Fairly easy assembly. It would be nice, since the hitch pin is not included, if the manufacturer would list the size pin needed.

SportRack Vista XL Cargo Box - Roof Mount - 18 cu ft - Black
After a year of dependable use the SportRack Vista XL Cargo Box continues to perform to my needs, wants, and expectations. The 2 attributes that shine the most are ease of access/cargo loading (rear access vs. side) and ease of off/on (lightweight and access to the U-bolt hardware). While the overall quality of the materials and hardware are not quite "Excellent", they're darn close. For my needs I'm very happy with this cargo box and the price point makes it a better option the the more expensive brands. It may not be as cool and groovy as a Th*** or Yak*** box but it gets the job done.
The Roof Box was as described and fit great -- Nice. Shipping however was not good, trucker dropped it and the skid at the foot of the driveway -- It looked like it had been crushed and dropped. There was some slight damage, but we accepted it as complaining would be more trouble than it is worth. E Trailer should vet their carriers better -- no care taken with this shipment.

Yakima RocketBox Pro 14 Rooftop Cargo Box - 14 cu ft - Black
I've taken one 1500 mile trip so far with the Yakima RocketBox Pro 14 mounted on my RAV4. I found the box to be quiet and not to have much impact on gas mileage. I lost maybe 1 mpg with it mounted to my flush mounted Whisperbars. I drove through some very heavy rain and had a minimal amount of water inside under a thin rubber mat I had placed on the bottom of the box; none on my luggage got wet. This box works great to give me more carrying capacity when traveling with my two crated Dobermans.
Was surprised by the quality of free shipment. The cargo box was strapped to a pallet with shrink wrap.

Thule Pulse Alpine Rooftop Cargo Box - 11 Cu Ft - Matte Black
I received the box last week and mounted it on my 2022 Toyota RAV 4 Prime installed roof rack crossbars. The box fits well, no interference with the rear lift gate. I have not yet driven with it on the car - and won’t until we travel carrying passengers and skis/equipment. (Our garage doors are small - 83” height - so the box cannot be on the roof going in or out of the garage.)

Thule Pulse Medium Rooftop Cargo Box - 14 cu ft - Matte Black
I can see why people consider the box a bit flimsy, especially when you do not have it secured to the car and nothing is inside. That’s normal. For this to weigh 34 lbs and yet to be wall sturdy and provide waterproof conditions that the bag cannot, it has to be lightweight. Once we attached it to the car at 4 points, it wasn’t going anywhere and was instantly sturdy. I wouldn’t roughhouse with the locks or opening it up and down with force however. Also, 14 cu for a sedan is plenty. Anything larger and you are looking to push the limits.
Bought this box to hold camping gear while on a cross country road trip. You can put quite a bit of stuff in it. Held securely to roof rack and kept contents dry. I liked that the key could not be removed if lid wasn’t completely closed. Minimal affect on gas milage.

24x60 etrailer Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches - Steel - Tilting - Folding - 500 lbs
Step 1 of assembly, the holes do not line up between the basket halves and the connecting bars. This is integral to the structure’s assembly, making it impossible to do. That and the hardware was loose all over the package but luckily seemed to all be there by chance. Seems there was no QA before shipping…makes me quite nervous about installing this on my vehicle.
Heavier than I expected! Quite sturdy! Easy to put together. I needed to buy a 15/16" socket for the hitch pin/bolt. It comes with a hitch pin collar so I need to return the one I ordered.

Thule Motion XT Rooftop Cargo Box - 18 cu ft - Black Glossy
I have had this for 1 year. I use it when I’m moving for travel contracts every 13 weeks and this thing packs a TON. I have a 2013 Chevy Equinox and it’s a bit long for it — it smooshes the antenna, but does t affect radio signal. I’ve also had it on a 2006 Toyota RAV4 and it got perfect — it was the vehicle I originally bought it for!

20x47 Reese Cargo Carrier for 1-1/4" Hitches - Steel - 300 lbs
From start of project to finish, e-trailer was there for me all the way. They helped me figure out which would fit my very specific application, then shipped the product extremely quickly. Everything worked as it should and looks awesome.
This is great cargo basket: solid and secure, easy assembly, well designed. The angled neck keeps the basket well away from the ground; I haven’t had any problems with it bottoming out. My first use was actually on a trip back from Florida following Powered Paragliding training. I was intending to bring back just a Paramotor (which would have stood vertically inside the basket), but ended up bringing back a whole Trike assembly! Mounted it on the basket as shown, and it rode just fine back through four states. Got a lot of looks on the way home! I concur with an earlier reviewer that a neat trick is to use a stabilizer strap from the hitch to the corner of the basket. There is plenty of slop in the receiver when the neck is inserted, and a short ratcheting tie down cancels the rattle effectively. I’m very pleased with this purchase; and while I don’t plan to haul around anything as big as that trike, I look forward to many more years of use from it!

GearDeck 17 Enclosed Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches - Slide Out - 17 cu ft - 420 lbs - Black
Perfect sized box for carry sized luggage and softball game day gear. Proven space saver. Receiver is showing signs of rust otherwise would be a ten. Would buy again.
Overall it's a great box. Love how much room it has and it's easy access. Slides out so van's rear doors open completely. Brake and turn lights improve visibility. Not waterproof but generally things stay dry. A couple of minor things: hole for lock was too close to the edge and pulled out so I drilled one on each front corner (more secure) - metal stays keep sliding out. I need to glue them in. I definitely would buy again.

This is gonna be a compact steel cargo carrier, great if you have limited space inside of your shed or your garage, but you still need to add extra cargo space to your vehicle. So this will go right into the hitch of your RAV4, and it's gonna be helpful if you have larger or dirtier items that you don't want dirtying up the interior of your vehicle. So taking a look at how this fits on the RAV4, this is gonna be very compact. What's going on, everybody Adam here with etrailer. Today, we're gonna be taking a look at the Yakima CBX Solar Rooftop Cargo Box on our 2017 Toyota RAV4. Well, as you can see, we have a pretty large solar panel on top of the box. It's about 38 1/2 inches long by 14 inches wide, and it's gonna put out five volts. So to put that into perspective, a lotta your phone chargers, your iPad chargers, and your GoPro chargers, they all run off of five volts, and we are gonna have a decent amount of amperages going out. Now, this is an amazing kit, because it comes with the bike rack, it comes with the cargo carrier, and you can see how you could use them simultaneously with each other. Right here, look at how the bike rack is on the top. If you do have this configuration, it can only be on the top, since, obviously there's no space for it on the bottom, but you can still use both of them. What's going on, everybody Adam here with etrailer. Today, we have a 2017 Toyota RAV4, and we're gonna be taking a look at the Yakima LockNLoad Platform Style Rack. We just threw a couple of different accessories we had here in the shop just to show you exactly how much stuff you can get up on there. We have a lot more room, and you don't really have to put the kayak here or here, or the bike rack over there. There really is a lot of different types of slots and bars, so you can really make it yours. What we're gonna do now is take everything off so we can get a closer look at the platform itself and go over some specs.
