Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2"
I live on acrea I was not notified that the delivery had come until 12:30 at night had to get up out of bed in my pajamas and drive my UTV down to pick up the trailer hitch by the road the box was pretty trashed I'd get the shipper one star product itself is very well made nicely painted although there was a few scratches from the rough shipping.
The hitch installed with no issues. I am impressed with the interaction of the web site and tremendous amount of instruction and consumer protection covered to make the measures for a safe installation. Thanks

Very easy to install. I did, and would recommend, watching the install video on the etrailer website. I had the video pulled up on my phone and did each step as they did pausing while I worked. Like everyone else, my only negative feedback is the instructions on where to cut the drivers side trim piece weren't good. I took my time and did it little by little until I was happy. Just cost a little extra time. I posted a picture of how little it sticks out so you can see a different angle.
The Curt trailer hitch and wiring harness for my 2016 Highlander was a perfect fit. Installation was a breeze just following the etrailer videos. I opted for the 4" drop ball mount because of the Highlanders ground clearance but the standard 2" drop would have been just fine. Will use etrailer again without hesitation.

I received the trailer hitch right on time, the packing was fine, and the hitch itself is far superior workmanship than the others that I considered. The welds are perfect, the coating is great, and the installation went very well. Start to finish in less than 30 minutes. I also like that, unlike the other two, this one doesn't interfer with the spare tire placement, and the receiver is flush with the bumper, avoiding those painful shin bruises. I decided to buy from "etrailer.com", not only for price, but because the bigger companies get enough business, and I've been a small businessman all my life. I am VERY impressed and I wish them well!
I purchased the Curt receiver hitch and the wiring package for a 2007 Toyota Highlander with the factory tow package. Bottom line, if you have a full size spare, THIS HITCH WILL NOT FIT. You cannot seat a full size spare with this hitch as it blocks the tire from seating into position. The wiring package received looks correct, but the connectors do not fit together. I have been on the phone with Curt about this, and they are sending a replacement out. I would never have purchased this product at all had I realized it wouldn't allow me to seat the spare tire once installed. Photo attached showing the problem (blocked access by hitch).

Draw-Tite Max-E-Loader Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2"
I bought this to put on my 2008 Toyota Highlander Sport. It's a very nice, well built hitch. It fit perfectly, even with my full size, 19 inch, spare tire. The only complaint I had about it was the packaging. The box arrived via the brown truck and was torn at both ends by the edges of the hitch, which caused the hitch to have a few nicks and scratches to the paint. The delivery driver even apologized for it. I contacted etrailer.com via email. Their customer service was great, responding in just a few hours. We worked out a solution. This hitch is very well made. It's welded together and the bolt holes lined up perfectly with my Highlander's. It's heavy and awkward, so I do recommend two people to put it on. Installation was easy...my 13 year old nephew helped me. You could probably put it on by yourself, but two people make it easier as you have to lift it over the exhaust pipe. The video tutorial was definitely a plus! One thing I had to do that the video didn't show was to remove the cover on the tip of the exhaust pipe. I know not all models have one, but the sport models do. It's easy to remove by loosening the bolted on clamp. I didn't have to lift the rear of the Highlander up, either. There is plenty of room to get underneath the vehicle to work and do this (I'm a big guy). The hitch also has a plate welded onto it near the receiver so you can attach a mounting bracket for the wire harness if you want to run it to the outside of your vehicle. I used the mounting bracket (Item 18144) here: . It comes with locking screws and fits perfectly. Overall, this is a solid hitch that is priced well and looks great! I had thought about buying the OEM from Toyota, but I'm glad I didn't. This one is just as good (if not better) at only a quarter of the cost and I didn't have to pay anyone to install it. I will definitely be doing more business with etrailer.com! Great prices and customer service you can't beat! P.S. Sorry, but it was raining a little when I took the pics.
Bought the Draw-Tite trailer hits together with the Swagman XTC4 4-bike rack. Bought based on reviews on e-trailer and other sites that this is a sturdy and good-working combination for carrying 4 bikes. * Delivery: Fast (<5 days) * Packaging: Package had holes, which is not unusual as the box with the hitch has a lot of empty spaces. Others had same issue, but nothing to worry about. The hitch cannot really break easily and the hardware is safely stored in the 2inch receiver. * Installation: Very nice video instructions on etrailer. Installation really can use two people, but it's fairly easy with two people. Had some problems with one of the nine screws to bite although I did a try run before mounting the hitch. Worked after some minutes of wiggling the hitch so that the screw got the correct angle to bite. * Usage: Installed the day of delivery and used it the next day. It's the first time I used a trailer hitch and for sure the first time I used to carry 4 bikes. Stopped looking in the rear-view mirror after 1 minutes seeing that it's barely moving at all. So with a limited use so far I can confirm other's reviews of this combination and I think it works great. Recommended.

etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Matte Black Finish - Class III - 2"
Instructions were easy to follow.(watched online video) I backed my 2016 Highlander XLE up on ramps for easy access to install. I used a BOSCH oscillating multi-tool to cut the plastic undercarriage guards - worked great and fit perfectly around the new hitch once it was reinstalled. BOSCH 18V impact driver with a 9” or 12” 3/8 wobble extension made quick work of the bolts around the exhaust. Very easy 45 min start to finish job if you have a few tools.
Everything was installed as instructed, and we didn't run into any surprises, this hitch didn't interfere with anything and left adequate room for the spare tire. Something else i bought to compliment the receiver hitch was a Item # 118449, T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector, this worked as designed due to the fact my 2016 Highlander didn't come from factory with a tow package, the wiring was not confusing and was a "plug and play" although the video and other illustrations will instruct you to hang the plug out the back door, i dint like that cheesy look so i ran the wire through a drain grommet that is already in the floor on the left side and mounted the 4 prong flat connector to a Mounting Bracket that i attached close to the receiver area for a cleaner more professional look (note the pics was taken prior to the bracket installation) i will update pics later, Item # 18144

Easy install. I had no issues adding to a 2012 Toyota Highlander. Did it by myself in a couple hours tops, but a helper for 5 minutes could have made it smoother.
Love the fast shipping, easy to install by myself with a car jack on one side and lift up the other end... Solid product, would buy it again...

Quick delivery, good packaging. This hitch perfectly fits Toyota Highlander 2010 . It was fairly easy to install myself. Did not even have to lift the vehicle. Very happy with this product.
I bought this item convins being I will get the best deal. As of item it is good but WRONG finished . The left part (the one opposed to exhaust) much bent inside. See the attached pictures. That made installation almost impossible. The cutting for mud plastic protection is wrong, very wrong represented. Good for me because I am fabricator and auto mechanic with all skills and tools. I attached a picture for someone who still wants to take chance buying one. But be prepared with a helper next to you if you do not to take to a specialized shop. One think is for sure , time for installation from factory is a joke, unless they do take care of the original problem the left end bended. Do not believe it can bent with hammer. If it was finish as it should be, it was perfect. After all my work it looks and works well. For that reason I gave only 3 stars. Otherwise joyfully I would gave 5 stars.

Overall I'm happy with the DT hitch. I installed it on my 2004 Toyota Highlander. I went for the DT over the Curt because it has the extra hole to use an anti-rattle J-pin. If the Curt had that, I would've probably went that way. Starting with the packaging and shipping: the shipping was pretty quick although it looked like the box had been dropped a few times. One side of the hitch had blasted through the shipping box. This could possibly be remedied by over-wrapping the hitch ends with some thick cardboard or low-E foam in bags to make the ends less of a hard point. The result was minor scuffing of the paint...not a biggie for me. The fit and finish of the trailer hitch was good, not great compared to the Curt hitch I put on my wife's minivan. DT hitch's welds were not as neat and clean and had spatter in various spots. The powder coat didn't look as of high quality as compared to the Curt. It does stick out a bit more than I would like (roughly 1 3/4") but I don't think I'll be banging my shins on it when I'm taking things out of the trunk. A fair amount of the hitch is visible from the rear and I think I just need to get used to the look of it. Overall, its a solid hitch and I'm happy with it. The main reason I bought the DT is because it has the extra hole for an anti-rattle J-pin. But if that isn't a need of yours, you wouldn't go wrong with the Curt hitch.
Hi, Just wanted to put up my review. Orderd parts and they arrived in a timely manner. The box has a huge hole in it due to the good ole post office not etrailer. I was afraid parts would be missing but the way etrailer packaged every thing all was in the box. It took me literally 5 minutes to put take off the tow bars on highlander and install the tow hitch. Wiring instruction were ok but the video instructions were right on and it only took approx 7 minutes to do wiring. Thank you etrailer for a easy project that even a girl can do!!! :-

Trailer hitch and wiring harness I ordered for my 2002 Highlander fit and worked perfectly.lt came in perfect condition in only 3 days. Will definitely order from etrailer again.
This trailer hitch installed easily and fit perfectly on my 2001 Toyota Highlander. It seems excellently manufactured and of very high quality. It has worked perfectly for using a bicycle rack to transport my bike.

It came in 3 days early, good quality and nothing was missing. I have 2023 Toyota Highlander XSE and we used tutorial video to install them. They didn't have video on how to remove rubber that holds muffler in place- WD40 and wrench is all you need. I liked that it also came with instructions on how to cut out the underbody plastic cover so it can go back in with hitch. Would order from this company again!
Easy to install and fit perfectly on a 2023 highlander hybrid.

I have a Toyota Highlander platinum hybrid 2024, the hitch fitted perfectly, however I do recommend a 3rd helper, this is not a one man job. It’s very easy to install but very heavy. I really like that the hitch hides. Thank you etrailer Yes it’s fits a Highlander platinum hybrid in case your wondering like me.
Fits perfectly in threaded holes already in frame provided by Toyota. Snugs exactly under bumper and looks great. Easy install I would recommend putting an extra plastic connector to hold passenger side rear cover underneath since the removal of the metal bracket leaves the cover loose. I did this easily. But your directions should recommend it at least as an option and include one plastic connector - not necessary but makes the cover not wiggle. I've included a photo where I put two plastic connectors in, but need only one. This photo I included is the cover on passenger side underneath showing the two extra connectors (you do need to drill the holes) also that is the Hitch bolt nearest the rear.

The bolts are not the correct size, they are too small for the factory holes. It appears that the tow bar holes do not match up either. This does not seem to be the correct tow bar for my vehicle.
etrailer Class III receiver is super heavy duty. Easy to install, I used a friend so each of us could be responsible to hold one side initially. I probably could have use a pump jack but then balance might have been an issue. I did not buy the receiver from etrailer, after seeing the receiver I probably should have bought the ball mount insert from etrailer. 2005 toyota highlander.

Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2"
The hitch and electrical connections installed well. The only issue is the various Utubes I watched were a bit misleading. Even the instructions with the hitch mislead me and resulted in my having to remove the hitch and replace some tabs from the bumbet that should have been left attached. The biggest problem was the weight. All the Utubes I watched had two men doing the install I’m 82 and did it myself. Final product looks great. Curt makes a great product.
The quality of the hitch appears excellent. I was able to install it myself the day I got it. I put it on a 2021 Toyota Highlander XLE. The plastic panel on the driver side needs to be trimmed as shown in the directions. See the picture or how it looks when reinstalled. The fit was perfect.

EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2"
I love the clean looks of the installed hitch. With the receiver flush with the bumper, you will never hit your shin on it. The installation was pretty easy with only one minor problem. The furthest rear hole on the vertical plate, passenger side did not line up with the hole in the hitch. It was about 1/64" or less off. I had to unscrew the mounting bolts several times to get the bolt as close as possible to pull it through with the nut. No big deal though. Also, I trimmed the plastic panels much less than the instructions show, providing a much cleaner look in the completed installation.
Very easy to install on the 2018 Highlander. It has worked well for our 4-bike hitch rack… just what we needed!

Yesterday the new hitch for my 2002 Toyota Highlander arrived around 6 pm. I waited till this morning after the grandkids had gone to school and started the install around 8:45. By 9:50 the install was complete.
The trailer hitch is a perfect fit for my Toyota Highlander. It took my teenage sons less than 15 minutes to install it. You will not know there is a trailer hitch on my car, except you are told, because it is hidden under the bumper. I am searching for a deal on a trailer and will order the Hitch Mount, Balls and Accessories. I will use my trailer to move yard wastes, items like riding or push mowers, household items, bicycles or a boat. I am excited.

I ordered mine on 9-20-2024 and while viewing info on 9-27-2024 the price was cheaper than when I ordered. I paid 246.92 and a week later it is 234.14. Can I get a refund of the price difference? >
It installed real well it fit the vehicle just as you described it. It is visible but my husband said I needed this model.

Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2"
2016 Toyota Highlander XLE with Tow Package: Ordering was easy and the shipping was very fast. Only a few scratches on the paint job which was really remarkable considering it's shipped only in cardboard. A quick hit with Rust-Oleum glossy black and it was as good as new. The enclosed instructions were ok, but somewhat lacking in detail and the pictures were almost too dark to make out what they were trying to demonstrate. Step #4 about trimming the plastic fascia tabs for the lower fascia have zero detail, pics or diagrams. It becomes pretty obvious when you hoist the hitch into position, but that's an awkward time to discover what you have to trim. The only reason this is a 3 vs 5 stars is the slots for the mounting bolts did not line up with the weldnut hole in the frame rail. And it wasn't due to shipping since it was the forward slot on the driver's side and the middle slot on the passenger side. Ultimately I was able to get the bolts in, but they only went in with a liberal coating of naughty words and about 14lbs of elbow grease. Had the precut slots in the hitch lined up properly with the weldnut holes, my rating would have been a 5-Star, so your mileage may vary and your slots might line up perfectly.
Delivered as promised; easy to install, high quality

EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2"
I like the hitch and it installed with a minimum of difficulty. The most time consuming operation was the cutting and reinstalling of the plastic trim pieces. It looks great and seems to be of high quality. I wasn't able to complete the job today because I was missing the two cross-tube brackets. All the necessary bolts, nuts and washers were there, but no brackets. I will definitely raise the rating after I receive them.

Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2"
Arrived in a very timely manner in good shape. Easy install with instructions. I chose not to drop the exhaust as you can get the bolts in easy enough with it on. For the factory seven way plug and bracket i just bent it back and it works great. I have ordered through etrailer before and will do it again in the future ! thanks guys Tyler
I purchased this to mount on a 2009 4Runner for use with a bicycle hitch rack. It was very easy to install. Installation took about 45 minutes (with a 14 yr old helping). I did not have to move or drop the muffler; instead, I used a flat wrench to work around the muffler. The most difficult part of the install was removing the tow hook from the 4Runner prior to getting started. Once installed, the hitch sticks out about 3 inches past the bumper. I was not expecting it to stick out this much, but it seems like a necessary part of the design due to where the tire is mounted.

EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2"
Pretty easy install on our 2023 Highlander Hybrid XLE. Took me about 40mins. Had a dremel to trim the plastic cover on the driverside as shown in etrailer's video. Chose this model cuz it looked cleaner / more oem/style and has a higher tongue weight rating. Didn't buy a wire harness cuz we only intend to use a hitch cargo carrier...for now. This hitch will be great for that with the 750lb tongue weight rating. Happy with the purchase.
I have installed four different trailer hitches on vehicles, but this is my first EcoHitch. This one was for my 2021 Toyota Highlander. The last one was a few years ago on a 2012 Highlander. This EcoHitch really lives up to the Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver name! The price point for this hitch is much higher than the other models and actually doesn't work any better than the others. BUT it really does sit under the vehicle and is completely out of the way. I needed that because the extra two inches of clearance is what I needed to park the newer Highlander in my garage. So if this issue is important to you, it is well worth the extra money. And installing it was as easy as the other ones I've done. It takes effort and is way easier with another person helping, but no problems when you follow the instructions.
