Best 2012 Honda Pilot Trailer Hitch Ball Mounts

Fastest delivery I have ever had. Ordered Wednesday at 5PM, arrived Thursday at 3PM. I'm only a couple hundred miles from Wentzville, but still, excellent. The hitch receiver (2008 Pilot) installed quickly and easily. No need to remove spare or lower muffler. I supported the left end on a large cooler and quickly maneuvered the right side above the tail pipes. The mounting holes were right on target. I had to tap mine to remove rust, but that's easy as well. The wiring harness was also a snapto install. Simple to plug into existing fitting and the wiring box tucked away nicely beneath the trim as advertised. There are options about what to do with the wiring tail and trailer connector. I chose the method shown in the video...leave it rubber-banded in the storage well. Others have run it outside through available holes, but I did not want to leave it exposed to road grime. etrailer's videos were very detailed and shown on my specific vehicle for both the hitch and the wiring harness. Good values as well. If I were Draw-Tite (or Curt) I would include a complementary rubber plug with their logo...cheap advertising.

At 68 yrs old, just single-handedly installed the 50 pound Curt hitch receiver on my 2016 Honda Pilot, using two jack stands and the vehicle's car-jack to position it correctly and hand thread the 6 bolts. Made a bit more room for myself by first lifting the back of the vehicle onto a makeshift ramp consisting of two layered 2x6 board. Also first tried to hand tighten the bolts before placing the hitch under the car and found I had a fair bit of rust to work through with rust blaster and wire brush. Instructions were clear and accurate. One tip, do the center bold on the muffler side first (to be able to slide the unit between the muffler and the frame, then the center bolt on the driver's side second. From there, it is a breeze. Took me an hour to get rid of the rust inside the welded bolts, and then an hour to install the hitch.

Thank you for the informative video instructions as well as helpful / honest reviews to research prior to making the purchase. I do not have anything to add that has not been covered in the reviews. Here is a recap of my experience that has been consistent with others. 1. Box was received with the driver side of the hitch pushed out. Only minor scratches which you can not see when installed and it did not impact the installation. Wrapping each end would probably be a good idea as stated in other reviews. 2. Removing 14 years of rust was the hardest part of the install (from the passenger side holes). Total time was approximately 1 hour as others have experienced. I used the bolts from the factory tie hook to work out the rust using 1/2" round wire brush attached to a cordless drill along with a full can of WD-40. 3. Installation of the hitch took about 30 minutes with assistance of a foot stool. 4. Plug-n-play electrical connector took about 10 minutes after watching the video. 5. Perfect fitment, fast delivery, easy website ordering experience and follow-up status notifications, and I can not be more pleased with the cost being under $200 for a DIY project. I required this setup to tow a ~1,000 lb motorcycle trailer with a ~1,000 lb motorcycle next week and my Honda has a 3,500 lb towing capacity. Thank you etrailer.com!

This was a great find for my 2003 Honda Pilot. I already have the hitch rack on the car but needed the wire harness and towing gear. Honda doesn't have the wire harness anymore and this was so convenient and easy to do.

2012 Honda Pilot wiring harness 118265. Ordered harness for my Honda Pilot on Monday and received on Thurs!! All parts were in excellent condition on arrival from UPS. I had already read many of the reviews and tips for this harness and that made installation very easy. All the connections went together quickly and easily with no problems. Went to Lowe's and bought 1/4"-20x - 1" stainless bolts and lock nuts as previous installers had said they used. From start to finish took about 1 hr!! I used dielectric grease as stated from installers on connections under bumper exposed to any water. Excellent product and service from etrailer is always superb. I would highly recommend this connector for anybody needing to put 7pole outlet on 2012 Honda Pilot.

To be honest, I use it upside down. I needed a hitch with rise, but none were available at time of purchase, and yours, inverted, works perfectly! The welds are regularly checked and remain all secure. It's a good hitch.

We sold our small motor home and purchased a small travel trailer. This hitch provided a perfect solution to how to use our bike rack while towing the trailer. It even allows room for the pickup tailgate to be lowered without removing the bikes from the rack. The hitch is very hefty with a high weight limit - plenty for the GVW of the trailer (7,000#) plus 125# of rack and bikes.

I ordered and received the ball mount and sway bar together. They were received very promptly and in excellent shape. They are very heavy, i.e., heavy duty. The bracket that was fitted to the trailer was about half a screw wider than optimal size for my smallish trailer but did fit. Installation was easy. The self-tapping screws functioned well. All-in-all, a 10 out of 10 experience.

Excellent product! With the three different ball sizes, this tri-ball mount gives you a lot of flexibility. Gone are the days of having several different ball mounts to fit different tongues. High quality construction makes this an excellent investment.

This item should solve the problem I have had with a stainless 3-way ball when I tried to reverse the position on the ball mount. The threads galled between the hex nut and hitch ball.

Retail type stores only carry mainstream items so when I needed a special length ball mount for my 2011 Traverse I found the size and quality with Curt Products .

Fits our VW Touareg perfectly and allows us to tow a variety of things now. As can be seen in the pictures the hitch has a +5-inch gap between the bumper and the vertical adjustment pillar and the trailer itself is out further so there's enough room to get to the rear hatch and maneuver the vehicle/trailer.

I needed a hitch that I could haul my work trailer with and still drop the tailgate without dropping the trailer. I looked on etrailer and found one that would work barely but decided to call etrailer and see if anyone had any ideas. Steve answered and looked after I told him my requirements and came up with this. This has a longer distance from ball to pin by a few inches compared to the one I found so my tailgate will still drop even if I’m at an angle to my trailer or on a hill. Also with the adjustable height it’s great. Awesome hitch. Solid for a good price. ??

We bought this to tow our 3,000 lbs. boat with our Subaru Ascent with a 5,000 lbs. towing capacity. With the OEM ball mount, we could really feel every jolt and jiggle from hard stops, going over bumps in the road, and trailering down dirt roads. However, the dual cushion ball has really improved our trailing experience. Once we get up to speed, we hardly notice we are towing our boat. It's also great because some of the lakes we visit are down dirt roads, and the cushion makes this a much more pleasant experience. I would highly recommend this to anyone towing a boat or larger trailer with a SUV as it maintains that comfortable ride and the jostling of the trailer is much less noticeable.

A year has passed with my Convert-A-Ball Dual-Cushioned, Adjustable Ball Mount and I have nothing but praise for this mount. Once you find the correct height to have a perfectly level trailer there's no need to adjust. The beauty lies in the cushioning! Towing a Yamaha AR190 (3200lb boat and trailer combo) is silent. Even over the bumpiest pavement the tow is smooth. There is no harsh slamming when braking or taking off from the boat ramp. I don't know why everyone isn't running one of these, I wouldn't run any other hitch mount PERIOD! If you're on the fence, get off and buy one, you will NOT regret it!

I've used the hitch over the last year on several trailers and loads. The adjustability made towing a much better feel and ride over a fixed hitch that at times not the greatest. I see no wear, very easy to adjust even once coupled to the trailer and finding the trailer needs to be leveled better.

Works flawlessly. I was very excited the day I got home and my Rapid hitch was on the front porch. It came in nice box and was packaged very well. I opened it up and unpacked my rapid hitch and I was very impressed with the quality and precision of this hitch. All of the machining was PERFECT and everything fit together right. I put it in my truck right away. Going down the road with the trailer on and off there is absolutely no rattles, clunks, or jolts. I also love how everything is aluminum or stainless steel, NO RUST. I wish I could've gotten the greaseless model but my boat is too heavy. My only complaint is that it doesn't come with locking pins. With a hitch this expensive I really wish it came with them. Do yourself a favor and order them with your rapid hitch so you don't have to pay for shipping in the future. Other than that great product and I believe it will outlast me.
