Porta Bote Roof Rack Carrier Recommendations
Question:
Hi, I have a Rhino Rack roof top system and a 12 foot Porta Bote folding boat that folds down to about the dimensions of a surfboard. I was wondering what the best system for securing the Porta Bote to the roof rack would be. I know they have a J-type kayak carrier that seems like it might work, as well as a surf board system that might work as well, although the J system would seem to allow more room for other gear.

For a surfboard style carrier to transport your Porta-Bote I would recommend the Rhino-Rack SUP and Surfboard Carrier # RRRWP03. This comes with the straps and pads needed.
For a j-style kayak carrier the Rhino Rack Watersport Carriers # S512 would be a great choice as well as long as your PortaBote weighs less than 55 lbs. I attached a review video for you to check out.
Both of these racks will work on a Rhino Rack roof rack. Since you said you like the kayak style better that would be what I would recommend for you as long as your Portabote weighs less than 55 lbs.
Also you need to be sure not to exceed the roof capacity of your vehicle.

I have a Porta Bote (12 ft), and it weighs 87 lbs. What's the best equipment to secure it on top of a 2011 Kia Sedona?
