You will want to check your tire and it will have the maximum psi listed. I have attached a helpful article that lists what the tire size listings were, and what is used now.
For example, if you look at the chart on the attached article it has a tire with the same dimensions you mentioned you have. The next column lists the tire size that is used now. You can see that for the load range E tire we carry, the maximum psi for the 205/65-10 is 90 psi.
At the maximum air pressure, the tires will perform and wear best, and get the best gas mileage.
If a trailer tire is inflated to a lower air pressure than the maximum, the amount of weight that the tire can carry will be reduced. If a heavier load is put on the trailer tire than what is recommended for that air pressure, the sidewall of the tire could heat up and cause the tire to fail.

Hi Jeffrey. If you don’t need the full load capacity of the tires, is there any harm in running them at 65psi rather than 80 so the tires will absorb some of the bumps or would you still suggest max pressure? I estimate the loaded trailer is about 3800 lb, so way under the limit of 2860lb per tire. Thanks!
