In order to make a proper selection for a hitch ball, you will need to find out what diameter size ball your trailer needs. It should be stamped on the trailer coupler or frame, either 1-7/8 or 2 inch.
All bumper ball holes are 3/4 of an inch, so you will need to pick a ball with a 3/4 inch shank diameter. The ball you were looking at, part # A-82, is a 3/4 inch shank diameter and is a 2 inch diameter ball. If you need a 1-7/8 inch ball, you would use part # A-80. Those are our only stainless hitch balls with a 3/4 inch shank. Please note that the A-80 has a capacity of 2,000 pounds whereas A-82 has a capacity of 3,500 pounds.
I have included a link to a page with all our 3/4 inch shanks.

Not all shanks are 3/4. 1 7/8 and the light duty are 3/4. The standard 2in is 1in shank. And the 2 5/16 is 1 1/4in shank
