Difference Between WeatherTech and etrailer Floor Mats for Jeep Grand Cherokee

Question:

Looking for some quality front and back mats for my 21 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Can you tell me the difference between the WeatherTech and your mats? Is the quality really much higher with the weathertech?

Hey Pete, this is a really good question and one I've actually wrestled with myself when looking for new mats for my car.

I know WeatherTech, and so do you. Huge brand, and they make really quality stuff. The immediate answer to what you're really asking (which one should I buy) is that you wouldn't regret purchasing either of them.

Now with that all out of the way, there are a couple of differences I noticed when playing around with both in our shop. The first is the overall flexibility. The WeatherTech # WT449301 is super rigid and stiff. This likely is part of why they last so long, but I honestly like the feel of the etrailer # e98PR a bit better. They have a lot more flex to them and the texture itself on the mat feels like it just better sticks to my shoes for knocking off dirt and mud.

Speaking of the texture, the WeatherTech mats are going be more of a pain to fully clean if they ever get super dirty. The matte-ish finish on them can be a magnet for grime. That's more of if you really care about the long-term appearance of the mats, but something to think about nonetheless.

So with those couple of differences, along with the fact that ours is easier on the wallet and to be honest just kind of looks cooler, I'd gladly go with our etrailer brand # e98PR for your Jeep.
