Weight Distribution Recommendation for a 2011 Nissan Frontier Towing a 3000 lb R-Pod Trailer.

Hi, I have a 2011 Nissan Frontier 4x4 crew cab towing a 3000 pound R-pod with about 300 pound tongue weight. The truck has factory tow package and is rated 6300 pounds for towing. I feels like the trialer is exagerating the bumps. Can anything be done to correct this or is it normal and to be expected? Thanks,

Some bumpiness comes with the territory when you are towing a trailer. A weight distribution system should help you smooth out the ride quality of your 2011 Nissan Frontier Towing a 3000 lb R-Pod trailer. Weight distribution systems are recommended when the trailer weighs more than 50 percent of the tow vehicle. So you would be a good candidate for a WD system. Weight distribution does what it name implies and distributes the tongue weight of your trailer to the front axle of the tow vehicle to help smooth out the ride and improve handling and braking characteristics.

The best way to pick out a weight distribution system is to base it off of the loaded tongue weight of the setup when it is loaded and ready to tow, this figure also includes the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. If the 300 lbs you listed is your loaded tongue then for a weight distribution system I would recommend the Reese Weight Distribution System w Shank # RP66540. This system has a tongue weight range of 200-600 lbs so it should work very well for you.
