Lug Nut Torque Chart for Trailer Wheels  

Question:

CAN YOU GIVE ME LUG NUT TORQUE FOR MY DEXTER 16,000 LB AIR BRAKE AXLES? THE NUTS ARE 1-5/16 IT LOOKS LIKE THEY HAVE A BUILT IN ROUNDED WASHER? I HAVE A PICTURE OF THE AXLE END AND THE LUG NUT IF THAT WOULD HELP.

In order to determine the torque rating for the lug nuts on your trailer you will need to know check out the chart I attached that shows all of the torque specs for all the trailer lugs available based on stud size, wheel material and wheel size.

@AnthonyP This specific chart we found online over a decade ago so I am not sure I could find the primary source at this point.

1-5/16”(33mm) Nut on M22 x 1.5 wheel studs should be torqued to 450-500 ft./lb.
