Recommended Roof Rack For A 2021 Ford Expedition Max Limited

Question:

I have a 2021 Ford Expedition Max Limited. The raised rood rails are 49 apart on the inside edges and about 51.25 apart of the outside edge. I would like to get some clamp-on style adjustable crossbars that will not only fit my Expedition AND have a minimum of 4 of overhang from the tower to the end of the metal part of the cross bars. Id prefer that the cross-bars have T-slots and security locks. I have found the Malone AirFlow2 Item # MAL84AR on your website and watched the video by Evangeline?. This looks like it might be a good option, but I am not sure if I would need the 58 or 65. The may depend upon whether the length in the description is the length of the metal bar or the metal bar including the end caps. And I am not how much space there might be from the end of the metal bar to the tower. So I am asking for your guidance. Also, does this come in black only or is there a sliver option too? Are their any other similar products that you think I should consider? Thanks so much for your help. I will look forward to your reply. Chuck Eckerson

Hey Chuck,

The rails on your Expedition are unfortunately too large for the Malone # MAL84AR to properly clamp to so you'll have to go with another roof rack in order to get a large enough crossbar to get a 4" overhang. I recommend the following components from Inno:

Inno Aero Crossbars - Aluminum - Black - 60" Long - Qty 2 # INXB153-2
Inno Through Feet for Aero Crossbars - Raised Side Rails - Qty 4 # INXS150

The 60" crossbars should give you roughly 4-1/4" of overhang on each side from the edge of the rails. The feet will stick out roughly an inch into this space on the bottom of the rail, if this is going to prevent you from mounting an accessory then I recommend switch to the 63" bars # INXB160-2 instead. The T-slots in the top of the crossbars will allow you to easily mount your accessories and the integrated locks in the feet will help prevent anyone from taking off with them. These crossbars only come in black so there is not currently a silver option available.
