Which Hitch Camera Would Be Best For Connecting to Gooseneck Hitch In Bed When Truck Has Tonneau?
Question:
I have a goose ball hitch and its a pain in the neck getting it lined up because I cant see over my tonneau cover. Can I mount this in the bed of the truck? Does the system come with enough wiring to run from the front of the bed to the back of the bed so I can hard wire the system into my wiring harness in the back? Thanks.

Your going to be better off going with the Swift Hitch Wireless Hitch Alignment Camera and Monitor # 04928 as the power wire for the camera on the Hopkins Smart Hitch # HM50002 is only about 18" long. The long wire is only for the monitor. And While you could use a In Bed Plug # 41157 to move the connector further forward while also adding an in bed 7-way to plug your gooseneck in this would be difficult to reach being near the front of the bed when you have the tonneau cover. The Swift camera has a magnetic mount so you could easily move it where you want when needed and the 4 hour battery life is more than enough if you only need it when connecting to trailers. The 300' range would also allow you to place it on the back of the trailer if you have to back up into a tight space.
