What Would Need to Change to Go from Single Wheel Axle on Trailer to Dually
Question:
I have a 2017 Swartz Manufacturing gooseneck with Dexter oil bath axles, rated a 10k each. They have 17.5” wheels. Can I replace the singles with a set of duals on each axle? Or does there need to be a modification done?

You'd need to make sure your wheel well area can fit the additional wheel and tire that will be offset more to the inside and the outer wheel and tire would stick further out as well. There's a good chance both of those things aren't possible and a shorter axle would be needed as well as modifying the wheel well.
