How to Choose Safety Chains for 12,000 lb Trailer
Question:
what size safety chain do i need for a 12000 trailer

Expert Reply:
The safety chains you choose need to be able to handle at least 12,000 lbs so the # 337B03835SC wouldn't work for your trailer. You also need to choose a length that allows you to cross the chains and also be able to make sharp turns.
The best way to determine the right length is to hook up your trailer and make a tight turn so you can measure the distance between the safety chain connections. For safety chains with a 15,000 lb capacity we have the # 337BSC3842 which are 42" long or the # 337BSC3835 which are 35" long.
I have attached a review video below, along with a link to all of our available safety chains for your reference. You can filter by capacity and length, just make sure the capacity is over 12,000 lbs.
