i am building a 61/2ft by 12ft single axle trailer overall length is 15ft. where should i place axle

Expert Reply:
Start off by placing your axle about 2/3rds of the way behind your trailer coupler. From there you'll need to fine-tune your axle placement until your trailer tongue weight is 10 - 15% the overall weight of your trailer.
There isn't a set "put the axle here for this trailer length" since trailer weight can vary some, but we've created a helpful article to help make this easier. I'm adding a link to this article as well as a photo from the article that you can reference.
