Do 2024 Kia Telluride's Come With A Trailer Hitch And Wiring Already Included

Question:

Looking to buy a 2024 Kia Telluride. Having a hard time getting straight answers on the towing setup. Kia dealers are weirdly cagey about it for some reason. Sounds like OEM hitch is unlikely but we can buy a Curt hitch here that will fit. Im a little more confused about wiring harness. Do the 2024s come with a 7pin preinstalled or do we have to go with an aftermarket solution? If the latter, what are my options?

Kia Tellurides are in our install shop all the time for hitch and wiring installs since Kia typically will not install them at the factory. Manufacturers use "tow package" as a buzz word to charge you more typically so you'll want to get explicit descriptions of what is included with the vehicle. If it doesn't come with a trailer hitch then you can install the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13420.

For wiring you would first need to install a 4-pole wire harness like the Curt Powered Tail Light Converter with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C59236. Once this harness is installed you can then install a 7-way with the # ETBC7 and a brake controller of your choosing. Personally, I prefer the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller w/ Universal Wiring Harness # RED52VR, but if you have something else that you'd prefer or have one you want to transfer from a different vehicle that's fine too.

does Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13420. require cutting my bumper? 2024 kia telluride. I am leasing this car and cannot cut anything. Can you confirm that I will be able to install without cutting?

@Yaroslav The center bumper cover where the receiver tube of the Curt # C13420 would need to be trimmed. Since this is a lease you could just leave the bumper cover off and when you turn the car back in just remove the hitch and reinstall the cover. There is also another cover on the driver's side under the vehicle that could possibly interfere with the bolts mounting the hitch in place. On some models Hyundai made the cover with cutouts already in it for this purpose. If yours doesn't have that you would need to notch it to make it fit back in place once the hitch is installed. I've attached a video below where Brad will walk you through the installation and you can see these two trim pieces that would need to be cut.

@KevinC Do you by any chance have this part center bumper cover number so I can look up at Kia to see how much it is?

@Yaroslav From what I can find online it should be Skid Plate 86672B.
