Is A Regulator Needed For A Trailer's Propane System If There's Already One On The Stove
Question:
I purchased this SUBURBAN SCNB1BBXEX three burner slide in cooktop from eBay. It has a small regulator on it that says burner systems 1/2 PSI Maxinch and I am wanting to hook this up to a standard size 20 lb propane tank. Do I need a pressure regulator on that propane tank, if so what pressure am I looking for? Im asking this question because I am replacing the oven/cooktop that is in my trailer now so I can get away from pilot lights and Im doing a little bit of remodeling in my trailer

Yes, you would still need to have a regulator for your trailer's propane system. All RV ovens/stoves typically have a regulator built into them to ensure that the pressure is correct for the appliance. The Furrion RV Cooktop # FGH4ZSASS you were looking at for example, has a one built in as well (pictured below). 1/2 psi is about 11-13" water column, which is pretty standard for the regulator connected to your trailer's propane system. Typically the rest of the appliances that run off of propane will be fine with just the regulator installed on the trailer's propane system.
If you don't have a regulator currently then you'll want to choose one based on the amount of tanks you're going to use and the way that the piping will be ran. If you're going to use multiple tanks then a regulator like part # 37207-31525 would allow you to easily connect to two tanks and switch between them when one empties out.
Depending on how you run your piping and where you want to place your regulator will determine which style regulator you'd need for a single tank. The key is to ensure that the vents on the regulator face down so water and debris won't get into them. If you plan on placing your regulator in a vertical position then you'll want part # 108220, and for a horizontal position part # 108221.
