Recommended Weight Distribution Hitch for 2016 Kia Sorento Towing 2022 Coleman Lantern 17B
Question:
I have a 2016 Kia Sorento AWD v6 with 500lb hitch weight and 5000lb max tow weight. Im planning on buying a Coleman 17B with a hitch weight of around 400 and gross weight of about 3500lbs. I was told to look at a Reese e2 6000lb weight distribution hitch. Im curious if thats the best weight distribution hitch to buy or if theres a better one? Also can you please send a link to that hitch? Thanks!

Based on the information you previously gave me, I recommended the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution w/ 2-Point Sway Control # FA92-00-0600. This system has a tongue weight range of 250-600 lbs which puts you right in the middle with your 400 lb tongue weight. You will also need # EQ91-00-6080 for a 2" ball or # EQ91-00-6100 for a 2-5/16" ball, and the # ALL643216 for hitch ball installation.
This is a great system, but not the absolute best. The best choice would be the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System # EQ37060ET. This will be just like the Fastway but with 4-points of sway control instead of only 2 so you can expect an even better ride and control. Equal-i-zer actually makes Fastway so you can expect both to be high quality systems. The Equal-i-zer has a tongue weight range of 200-600 lbs which is slightly more than the Fastway overall, and still inline with your needs. This comes with a 2" ball but you will still need the # ALL643216 for hitch ball installation.
