Help Removing Wiring Box Cover On 2016 Chevy Silverado 1500 For Installing Tekonsha Brake Controller
Question:
Hey, just about to order a trailer controller from you guys. Really have appreciated your website and the guidance from it. I was attempting to locate the connection port in my 2016 Chevy Silverado 1500, full size cab, short bed... I found the electrical junction box behind emergency brake but I cant get the cover off of it for the life of me. Its like theres a stud of some sort in the middle of it. I tried to pry the cover off of the stud in case there was a screw hidden behind it and I cant even get that off. Whats the trick? I really dont want to break something in the process if I can help it. Thanks for your thoughts.

It can be difficult to remove the cover for the junction box on your 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. I have linked one of our installation videos below which should help you with removing the cover. You can go to the 1:45 mark in the video which will show you how to remove the cover. It will then continue on to show you the installation of the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller # 90195 using the Pigtail # 3016.
