Recommended RV Water Heater That Works Well in Freezing Temperatures

Question:

I live in my RV full time. I use a heated water hose in the winter and leave water dripping during freezing temps. With my current water heater I have not had any issues with freezing even with a week of below zero temperatures. If I placed this unit in the same place as my current unit will it be ok? I have a 4 seasons rv. Most places I stay don’t have showers available so need to make sure I can shower and wash clothes/dishes.

If freezing is a major concern for you, which it sounds like it is; then I have a better solution for you. The Furrion RV Tankless Water Heater # FR98SR you were looking at operates effortlessly in temperatures as low as 39 degrees Fahrenheit. With your RV being a 4 seasons RV, there may be enough precautions to keep the water heater warm enough.

But, I recommend going with the Fogatti RV Tankless Water Heater # LSB64FR (requires the Camco RV Water Heater Temperature and Pressure Relief Valve # CAM10423 for installation). The reason I recommend the Fogatti RV Tankless Water Heater # LSB64FR is because of its line freeze protection.

The Fogatti RV Tankless Water Heater # LSB64FR has internal freeze protection that allows your water heater to operate in cold weather. When the temperature of the water lines drop to approximately 35 degrees, the unit will automatically fire up and run until the temperature of the water lines reach 90 degrees. Once the lines are heated, the system will automatically shut down. This will keep you running with hot water in those frigid temperatures.

Scott, I’m told by my RV dealer that the water coming from underground lines is often VERY COLD. However, given I live in Calgary, Alberta we can and do see outside temps in the -35C range. I am planning of course to heat trace & fully insulate the entire line from the tap to the inlet on my RV right alongside my Black/Grey tanks and sewer lines. I’m just concerned that showering temps may not be sufficient..?? Should I be..?? Also is there a way to adjust UP the higher end of temperature range..? Thanks and cheers from Calgary Theo

@Theo None of the water heaters we offer will work if the temps are that cold. They only work down to like 39 degrees fehrenheit.
