Erickson E-Track Trailer Cargo Control tracks come in various lengths, such as the 5-foot horizontal track, part # E19148. We also offer a 2-foot length, part # EM59150. To install them in your cargo van on its plywood floor you can use either galvanized or stainless steel nuts and bolts to avoid issues with rust.
The plywood layer on the floor of your van by itself may not be strong enough to hold the E-Tracks. To be safe you need to find points in the van floor where you can safely drill holes to accept the hardware. You will need to use hardware long enough to reach through the plywood layer as well as the underneath metal layer of the vehicle. Without the strength of the van metal flooring you will not be able to use the full 6000-lb capacity of the E-Tracks. You might want to refer to the linked installation video.
The mounting holes on the tracks are spaced 2-inches apart and are 1/4-inch in diameter. You will want to use 3/16th-inch diameter bolts of the appropriate length, along with washers and nuts. Generally 3 or 4 connectors per foot of E-Track is sufficient but it is perfectly fine to use more if you prefer.
We do offer a backing plate, part # e96RR, which provides a supporting surface to aid secure mounting of E-Track strips. This attaches on the other side of the mounting surface from the E-Track and provides a solid point to anchor the strip. These plates will allow you to use the full weight capacity of the tracks.
We offer a range of cargo control options for use with the E-Track system. For example, we offer a 2-inch x 6-inch D-Ring strap, part # E59143. Many other options are available; these can be seen on the link provided.
