How To Measure Broken Leaf Springs To Find The Correct Replacement
Question:
My leaf spring measures 26 inches eye to eye. What size spring would it actually be. It has been broken in the middle.

To properly measure your broken leaf spring you will want to take a measurement from the center of the spring eye to the center pin on the leaf spring along the curve(measurement B in image). As this measurement will be the same no matter how worn the spring has become, it is the best way to measure for a replacement. The other information needed it to find the correct weight capacity needed for the springs.
The 4-Leaf Double-Eye Spring for 4,000-lb Trailer Axles # e22YR for example are weight rated for 4,000lbs. They are 26" eye to eye with a measurement of 14" along the curve of the spring from the eye center to the center pin on the spring. I can help you find the correct springs needed if you can give me the weight rating and curve length measurement.
