Will the Thule EasyFold XT Work with My RadRunner Plus and RadCity Step-Thru E-Bikes?
Question:
Hi, I really like the Thule EasyFold XT from what Ive researched. My only hesitation is around the weight limits. We have two bikes: RadRunner Plus and RadCity Step-Thru. The RadCity is 65 lbs, so its fine and of course well remove the battery, so its even under the limit. But the RR Plus is 75 lbs. Even removing the battery leaves 67.3 lbs, which is over the EasyFold weight limit of 65 per bike. Im unsure if this not ideal but should be ok or a big no-no. Can you advise? Thank you!

I have a solution for you. As far as mounting your RadRunner Plus and RadCity Step-Thru e-bikes on the Thule EasyFold XT # TH903202, you are correct in saying that your RadCity bike will fall under the maximum weight capacity of the EasyFold XT. In addition, you are also correct in saying that your RadRunner Plus will exceed the 65 pound per-bike weight capacity of the EasyFold XT. We strongly recommend that you do not exceed the per-bike weight capacity of the EasyFold XT rack.
Unfortunately, we do not have any bike ramp with a ramp solution that will allow you the appropriate maximum per-bike weight capacity for the 67.3 pounds of the RadRunner Plus. With that being said, I recommend the Hollywood Racks RV Rider Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes # HLY64FR. The RV rider has an impressive 80 pound per-bike weight capacity (which is the highest capacity rack we carry). Also, the RV rider has similar mounting points as the EasyFold XT that slide up and down and rotate to fit almost any bike. With this feature, you will not need to purchase an adapter bar like the Swagman Deluxe Bike Frame Adapter Bar # 64005 for your RadCity step-thru frame. As far as security, the RV rider comes fully loaded with a keyed-alike hitch lock, frame clamps, and a cable lock to deter theft of your bikes and the rack.
The RV rider required a 2-inch hitch receiver. If you need a recommendation for a hitch receiver, I would be happy to recommend one if you provide the year/make/model of your vehicle.
