The seal that your mentioned and seal set #RG06-050 have the same inner and outer diameters so yes, you can use set #RG06-050 in place of 17144.

Grease seal set #RG06-050 is what you will need. These are double lip seals, just like what you have (the spring indicates that) and the dimensions are all the same including the 1/2 inch width.
