Is Plumber's Putty Required When Installing Sink Strainer In RV Sink?

Sink Strainer w/ Push-In Basket for 2inch Drain - Chrome Item # 37295325 Does the manufacturer recommend using plumbers putty when mounting this in a stainless steel RV sink?

I contacted the vendor and verified that you do in fact need to use plumber's putty when installing the Sink Strainer w/ Push-In Basket for 2" Drain # 37295325. The putty will go on the top side of the sink, in between the sink and strainer. I attached a demonstration video for another product, however, it will be a very similar process. At approximately the 10:30 mark in the video, you will see the putty being used.
