Everchill Model WD-282FWDC-B-6 RC refrigerator

Question:

Does the above refrigerator actually ever shut off? I hold the SET button for ten seconds and the numbers go off, but the SET button remains flashing for according to the book stand-by. One time all buttons shut off, but when I went in a couple of days later the refrigerator was running on #3???

You are correct that this refrigerator does not have an ON/OFF switch or function. The best you can do is "Standby" that draws an unknown amount of power. One option is to pull the 12-Volt fuse at the RV power center. A much better option is to install the Seaflo # SE29VR battery disconnect switch. This will cut off all 12-volt power to your RV and prevent phantom energy suckers (like radios, TV's, gas/smoke detectors) from draining your battery while in storage.

I have been using this one on my travel trailer for several years and am very happy with its function and quality.

@Erik You would need to reach out to the manufacturer for a replacement door shelf. I believe this is under the Lippert Components umbrella so I recommend giving them a call.

I have this refridgerator and the bottom is hot while the freezer is super cold. I found a very choppy bad translated manual and was trying to figure out if the cold/colder knob was actually a damper and if so which way do you turn it to let more down to the bottom? I assume COLD as that makes sense to learn more out. But the. Manual seems to state otherwise.

@Jerome Jerome, I wasn't able to locate any info on that but I can guide you through some troubleshooting steps so you can hopefully get to the bottom to what's happening. So what I'd recommend you start with is checking to make sure the fridge is receiving 12V. If its not receiving 12V (less than 11.5V) then I'd suggest power down the fridge for a full 24 hours and the power it back up. If there is still an issue after that, then the next thing I'd do is check the seals on the fridge. If there are any loose or damaged seals on the fridge, that's going to let warm air in and not keep the bottom cool. The last thing you can check is the freezer fan. You'll want to listen for the fan to kick on when the freezer door is opened. The fan is meant to move cold air from the freezer down to the bottom, so if you don't hear the fan kick on then that could be causing your issue. Apart from that, the only other thing I'd suggest is to see if the fridge is still under warranty and have it replaced, or take it to an RV shop and have them take a look at it.

@BryceD My favorite part is this manual. I can’t copy paste pdf Text from this iPhone. But check this pdf. Page 7. https://forestriverinc.com/files/Component-Manuals/Appliance/Everchill%20-%20Refrigerator%20Model%20WD-282FWDC-B,%20BCD280WEV804F-B%20Instruction%20Manual.pdf
