Installing 7-Way Trailer Connector in Bed of 2006 Chevy Silverado 2500
Question:
I have a 2006 Chevy Silverado 2500HD. It currently has a 6-way connector installed in the driver side rear of the bed, and a 7-way connector installed under the rear bumper. Do you have a 7-way RV connector that will connect to the factory 8-wire harness per owners manual that will install in the bed in place of the 6-way factory connector? I would like to be able to plug a 7-way RV trailer plug into the bed location for a gooseneck trailer rather than under the bumper. Thank you in advance.

Expert Reply:
Assuming that the 7-way on the bumper is from the factory and the tow package harness can be unplugged from the rear of the connector, using a T-connector like # 41157 is what I'd recommend. Simply temporarily unplug the connection at the rear of the factory 7-way and plug the # 41157 inline as shown in the linked video.
