Question:
Received conflicting information regarding which hitch will fit my BMW 2015 X3. One expert recommends the Draw Tite 76226 : TW 750. GTW. 5000 The other recommendation Curt C13316 TW 350. GTW. 3500 BMW specification TW 350. GTW. 3500 Can the Draw Tite hitch be used without causing damage to the vehicle. Plan on using the hitch for bike rack and cargo carrier. Thanks

Both the Draw-Tite # 76226 and the Curt # C13316 are fits for the 2015 BMW X3. Both hitches are pretty much on par as far as quality goes. The Draw-Tite does have a higher tongue weight and towing capacity as you mentioned, but you'd be limited to the 3500/350 lb rating of the vehicle, so the difference in capacity is pretty much a moot point, as the capacity of the vehicle will always take precedence. Neither hitch would damage anything as long as the vehicle's weight capacity is observed.
I typically recommend the Curt hitch because they're manufactured in the USA, but you could choose either option without feeling like you sacrificed anything.
I've linked to install videos and instructions for both options.
