Can You Use Longer Shackle Straps To Raise Ride Height Of Trailer?
Question:
I have a 2017 Jayco HD Eagle travel trailer 32RKDS. The axels are Lippert axels #0247644 and moride equalizer between with up sized 16 wheels. I would like change the spring bolts and shackles using the Lippert LC64FR wet bolts and shackles. The existing shackles measure 3-1/2 long with 2-3/8 cc bolt holes. Description states the shackles are 3-1/8 long. Is this overall or cc. Will these fit my axels.? With the 16 wheels there is no room to make the trailer lower. I am hoping if this will work and the 3-1/8 overall length will provide more room to the fender skirt. Thank you for any information you can provide with this purchase.

The shackle straps included in the Lippert Tandem Axle Equa-Flex AP Kit - Wet Bolts - 3-1/8" Long Shackles # LC64FR you mentioned are 3-1/8" center to center and 4-3/8" overall length as shown in included diagram.
Using the longer shackle straps will raise your trailer, but I recommend replacing your current hangers with longer ones as it will give you an even lift on each side of the trailer. You will want to measure your current hangers to see how long they are, and then select the correct longer hangers from the link I included.
To replace your current shackle straps I recommend using the Replacement Shackle Strap - 2-5/8" Long # 115052 which are the closest option to your 2-3/8" shackle straps, and Wet Equalizer Bolt # 126B2 to replace you current bolts.
I included videos for each of the products mentioned for you to take a look at.
