Correct Replacement for an Atwood Water Heater GC6AA-9E

Question:

Need to replace my Atwood GC6AA-9E. Unit works on gas and electric

The correct replacement for an Atwood Water Heater GC6AA-9E is the Dometic RV Water Heater part # DMC74FR. This is a 6 gallon water heater that works with both gas and electric just like the one you have so it will be an exact match.

@TrishB Current pricing for the Dometic RV Water Heater # DMC74FR can be found directly on the product page. We try not to post specific prices in comments because pricing is subject to change over time.

@TrishB No, ours are all new. From time to time we might have a product selling that we've used in a review video, but that's few and far between.

This is not thecorrect replacemeet for the Atwood GC6AA-9E. The dimensions are wrong. The GC6AA-9E is 12.5" tall, 16" wide, and roughly 16" deep. Any other (closer) matches?

@Casey Nope! The Dometic RV Water Heater part # DMC74FR is the only one that has an actual tank - everything else is tankless and has different dimensions as well. The Dometic is closest as far as the traditional style goes which is what Conner meant.

@JonG Thanks! I actually found the Suburban SAW6DE to be an almost identical match. Th only problem, I have several dimension inconsistencies. On suburbans site, it shows: Width: 16-1/8 Inch Height: 12-1/2 Inch Depth: 17-5/8 Inch But elsewhere, the exact model shows: 19.5"D x 14.25"W x 17.5"H Not sure which to trust.

@Casey I usually defer to the dimensions that the manufacturer posts since they made it, but I do understand that manufacturers can sometimes miss the mark. We unfortunately don't carry the Suburban brand of water heaters so I recommend reaching out directly to who you plan on purchasing it from so if those specs don't match you can "hold the company accountable" for lack of a better term.
