Best Trailer Hitch Receiver for Transporting Motorcycle with 2011 Honda CR-V
Question:
I am looking to put a hitch on my 2011 Honda crv. I want to put my motorcycle carrier on it. Carrier and bike probably weigh around 300#. I see other comments that the crv has a 100# tongue wt max. Would I be overloading my car?

I was able to find and review the owners manual for your 2011 Honda CR-V and the max tongue weight is roughly 150lbs. With your motorcycle carrier and motorcycle you would definitely be overloading your vehicle but I have another solution.
To safely transport your motorcycle with your CR-V I recommend installing the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # 13555. You will also need a trailer wiring harness such as Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness # C55106.
Next you will need to find either a dedicated motorcycle trailer, or a small utility trailer. Keep in mind that the maximum trailer weight for your vehicle is 1500lbs which includes the weight of the trailer and cargo.
Once you've picked out a trailer you will need a trailer ball mount. I attached a link that shows you how to measure for what rise/drop amount you will need, and what size ball is required. With that measurement you can pick out a trailer ball mount kit for a 2x2 receiver, like the etrailer ball mount kit # 989900 which includes 3/4inch rise, 2inch rise, 2inch drop, 4inch drop and both a 1 7/8inch ball and 2inch ball.
