Air Lift 5000 vs 1000HD Air Suspension Enhancement for 2019 Ram 1500 Classic
Question:
Hello, I am considering air helper springs for my Ram 1500 Classic Tradesman. I occasionally haul heavier loads and also have a couple trailers I tow. I see the 1000HD has a capacity of 2100lb, and the 5000 has a 5,000lb capacity, however, both clearly state that they dont increase the trucks rated cargo capacity. My trucks rated capacity is about 1,200lb, so it seems like the 1000HD would be more than adequate, Im wondering if theres any advantage to the 5000 in this case, or is that only intended for vehicles with much higher capacities?

The air spring suspension enhancement kits we offer can't give you more towing capacity than what the manufacturer listed for the vehicle but they can help you tow within that capacity in a safer and more level way by providing additional suspension support. So with that in mind we have the part # AL57365 that you referenced that has the ability to provide up to 5,000 lbs of additional support and we have the coil spring style kit part # AL60818HD which can provide up to 2,100 lbs of support.
Since you said you were going to be near the truck's towing capacity I would strongly recommend the # AL57365 as it would overall offer more support and the design is just a heavier duty and tougher design which is better for heavy towing.
For a compressor kit then the heavy duty part # AL25854 will work great to make inflating the bags and maintaining them easier. The compressor will inflate faster than standard compressors and the gauge inside the vehicle will allow you to monitor and inflate them from inside the vehicle.
